Raising prices during the Easter period is diabolical af. At least wait until it is over ffs since people are shopping during sales. In Europe, Easter sales are somewhat relevant. I know that Black Friday for you Americans is a bigger deal.

Lenovo thinking that anyone would pay $1500/$2000 for their shitty handheld is fucking hilarious. They saw Sony raising the prices of the PS5s, and everyone scambling to get them before the price hikes, and thought "yeah, let's get in on that." Brother, no one bought it when it was normal price, ain't noone gonna buy it for $2000.

The handheld x86 market is garbage. Let us recall the original Rog Ally, and even Legion go 1, launched not that much more expensive than the Steam Deck and the Legion go 2 is now triple the price of the Oled Deck (which in turn is unavailable for pruchase). Both have Oled screens mind you, and the Z2 "Extreme" is just 20% faster than the Z1 "Extreme" at full TDP

I don't believe it's a reaction to Sony raising prices.

Nobody is going to buy that thing at those prices… This looks more like they are going to stop the production in a weird style.

Damn, who the hell buys this product at that price!?

No one. The product hasn't been available for weeks. Pretty sure they have ceased production. Lenovo's own site says it is no longer available. So a price increase on a discontinued product is pretty meaningless

Even with the recent price hike, you can get a PS5 $600/650, Switch 2 $450 and the Xbox Rog Ally X $1000 for $2000ish (at least until the latter two likely go up at some point).

Fuck outta here Lenovo LOL.

Almost seemed like a "look what we can do" type of product with its hardware specs.

I wanted it early on, but once I settled on the Legion Go S — there's just no way I was going to get a handheld larger than that. The "Go" his the upper threshold of what's comfortable. My interest in the Go 2 dropped immediately once I started using the Go.

Of course I want an OLED screen, but the screen on the Go is more than good enough for what I use it for.

Given that the fundamental efficiency and thermals haven't improved since the Steam Deck, none of these ultra premium devices make sense. They're just heavier/hotter/louder for marginal performance improvements and same to worse battery life.

Maybe Intel's new mobile chips can prove interesting in the next round of handhelds... but $2000 for this? Naw.

Surely nobody is buying at these prices. I don't follow how it even makes sense to continue to operate manufacturing lines at these prices, just shut them down and discontinue the product.

What the hell is Lenovo doing?
They are so full of themselves nobody is going to buy a Z2 Extreme PC Handheld for $3000 heck even the MUCH MUCH MUCH powerful GPD Win 5 with a Ryzen AI Max 395, 32GB of RAM and 2TB of Storage only goes for $2467 right now.

Lenovo might as well outright discontinue the product already.

For the people who aren't familiar with PC Hardware this is as if Lenovo was trying to sell you a PS3 for $1500 instead of you paying $900 for a PS5 Pro.

Seems weird as hell to raise the price on something that is no longer being produced if they intend not to make more. Maybe they found a trailer full of them or something, idk. Price is ridiculous though. Are any of the other handheld current PC's getting ridiculous price increases?

Yeah....no idea. Just me making guesses. I don't see anyone else making such drastic changes. Very strange.
