Jeff Grubb: ‘Fable’ release date has been ’pushed’ internally possibly to next year

Get that Horizon 6 out first before half of Playground gets laid off. I agree. I wish they never even branched out. It won't end well.

I guess not since the game doesnt really feature visible changes to your character as part of the morality system, which was pretty much what Fable was about.
 
Combat system looks very good in the trailer. Anyone who says otherwise cannot interpret what they have seen because their brain has been washed by the bleating of the lost flock.

Give me FABLE this year!

I've never played one - but I like playground games so I hope it ends up being good.
 
If the game needs it, it needs it. Polish that thing and don't release it just for the sake of releasing it. Releasing even remotely near GTA is dumb as fuck anyway. If it happens, hopefully a early 2027 release.

They basically started a whole other studio for Fable.
They didnt split Playground.

While both studios are in Leamington Spa they arent in the same building, so its effectively a brand new studio.
The main studio is still the Horizon studio the secondary one is Fable.......there is third studio that I think is supporting Fable as well.

I think Fable could match Hogwart's Legacy. But Playground's hubris probably made it worse - I doubt they were planning for character creator and such, meaning some things were not planned in advance.

The funny thing here is that the supposed information covers every possibility, so whatever it is, he's sure to be right...🙇🤷

He says the studio has decided to delay the release date because of GTA 6, and that could push it to November, December, or even 2027... But the fact is, a release date has never been announced, and anyone could have predicted a release in the final months of 2026 😅

Playground FH and Playground Fable are different studios and work in different locations. The studio in charge of Fable is mostly made up of the original FH team up to FH3. In other words, each one is independent of what the other does.

Thread is wild. This is the only place I've seen people shit on the reveal for the game. Everywhere else has been positive. I thought it looked awesome. Incredible graphics and everything they said about the world reacting to your decisions sounded great.

They talked a good game but showed very little. Loads of slow walking forward, bad dialogue and shit combat. Nice graphics though.

Hope they get the time they need, god knows they've had long enough already lol.

Yeah, GAF is pretty negative about the game. It has been ever since the character reveal. It got branded woke, and that was pretty much the end of it, in terms of its reputation here. But you're right, other places are more positive.

I'm looking forward to the game myself. I've enjoyed all the Fable games in the past, and Playground is one of MS's better studios. I hope they can recapture some of the lightweight charm of old Fable.

Game indeed looks woke af, so hopefully devteam can turn things around, otherwise it will share the fate of many other woke games- aka artifically boosted metascore but bad to terrible sales.
I wish the game all the best and allowing us to create our own protag, for example manly masculine male, is step in the right direction.
If game needs year or even two more years of time- so be it, as long as we get delivered product of possible highest quality, after all game is directly under microsoft so they shouldnt lack funds/devtime to make proper blockbuster here :messenger_smiling_hearts:

I'm holding off judgment of the "woke" thing until I see more about characters, story, and dialog. I think the woke label gets slapped on things too fast around here, sometimes. Makes it hard to have good conversations about a game because people just meme the woke shit to death. It all just gets reduced to that one simple dimension.

More serious note, I doubt the final quality of the game will justify the long development. Happy to be wrong since I liked the Fable games. But I have zero trust in this one.

That's true, sometimes it seems to me that people calling a game woke without evidence want to be cool and edgy.

Fable relies a lot on good writing. You need Larian's level of writing for that to shine.

Without evidence? Besides the character designs, there's the changes to the morality system, which is Fable's core premise. Moral relativism is at the forefront of the woke side.

We have seen plenty footage of the game, u remember even 1 masculine muscular rightous male showed in all that materials? Either soyboys(or actual gays, like that guy walking, that went viral :P ) , women, or scummy males.
Not even 1 male /anyone that majority of customerbase (males) can identify with, maybe just weird coincidence but given game is made by western studio, pretty doubtful :unsure:

Like mentioned before, i wish the game the best, and that it sells well, so really hoping devs turn things around, coz so far it looks like if not total sales diseaster than at the very best mild flop :( - game isnt some AA 20m usd budget project, it needs to sell solid few milions of copies to break even after all...

I wasn't talking about Fable, though. I was just mentioning other games called woke (like the new Monkey Island) without good research.
 
Delay it a few more months and Fable could be a cool launch game for the Project Helix Xbox.
 
I'm not sure whether or not they release it in now or more polished later will matter based on people's perception of the social messaging (fair or unfair). Loved Fable when I was younger, but the reality is that these things rarely translate well in today's social climate. Hope I'm wrong though as I enjoyed the earlier games.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if Fable also had to delay after the devs saw Crimson Desert. The comparison between both games is rough to be honest.

I wouldn't want this version of Fable....
