Cyberpunk 2077 PlayStation 5 Pro enhancements detailed (Patch releases April 8)

Reddit are such babies. Posted Bojji Bojji water reflection pics and they flat out refuse to believe it.

But where is your screenshot from on the map? Near city centre I'm presuming?
No idea brother, all pics are from Reddit or the purple place. Haven't tried the game myself yet.

Looks like RT reflections are on just about every glass surface in general, other than water and car bodies.

The water looks more amazing with this ps5 pro update

Looks great.

I think they should have definitely lowered the 60fps Mode resolution to at least 1080p and allow for rough surfaces RT reflections or RT AO.

It's more likely than you think, especially with the rumored expansion on the way.
Yeah I hope they'll use the expansion to also release a patch. The RT mode in Witcher actually looks great inside houses or other closed environments, but the FPS and resolution hit is steep.

It looks a lot better than the Series X version which is where I did my first play through. In fact a large amount of my first play through was completed using that enhanced Xbox One X version that they originally enabled for the Series X. The lighting is much more natural and nicer looking and the image quality is better on this PS5 Pro version (ray-tracing pro mode).

I think they should have go for 1080p in 60fps to push maybe a bit more of RT? Not sure about locked 60 but they could have added something else.

RT

I have a feeling that it might not be about the performance cost, but more like an artistic choice as the RT on rough surfaces blurs the texture fidelity even with the PC Ultra setting.

Tyskie!? Are you from the Cotswolds?
Down here in South Wales we drink oranjeboom from the local corner shops.

Cotswolds hahaha. I wish pal. Tyskie isn't mad expensive lol. It's always on clubcard offers.

I see Tyskie is somewhat popular in UK?

The big supermarkets carry it. I tried it because one of my old staff members was Polish and when she went to Poland to visit her family she brought me some back. Quite liked it. Enjoyed it even more at Krakow in the sun. Good lager.

Tried it for a bit earlier and it looks great. There's a mode for everyone. The 40fps and 60fps modes were my favorite of what I tried. PSSR2 is a game changer for the Pro.

This is a huge upgrade. The RT adds so much depth in the RT mode. Also, PSSR2 is much better than FSR2. It has much less jaggies and the motion resolution is much improved. Excellent upgrade.

This update is fantastic! Just riding around the city at night is an absolute treat for the eyeballs. There are reflections all over the place, so I haven't got a clue what DF were looking at.

So hard to spot..

Saved by the use of generally, I guess.
I feel so sorry for my friend now who slagged off the Pro saying it's pointless. I showed him the differences on the Pro just there between the different modes and he loads up Cyber to check his settings.

Unlucky lad, no knew settings for you 😄

The Pro starting to feel like a real step towards the PS6 these days.

Odd that they can have RT reflections on the open water but not in puddles. Guess it's a matter of a roughness cutoff. Anything that is not pin sharp doesn't have RT reflections.

Honestly? I noticed a little upgrade in how things resolve with PSSR but other then that....I wasn't saw what was different ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I just played a bit and bounced between Performance which is around a very nice 90fps, and the 60fps RT mode.

Its a massive upgrade. It honestly makes me question why anyone would buy a OG PS5 over the Pro if you want clean image quality. PSSR2 is really good here, and with the RT, dare I say its a generational difference.

Capcom did that with RE8, it wasn't perfect but it could be done.
Yeah, just because third person was not available on release and came later, doesn't mean they just built it in from scratch. There is a lot of work involved and I can almost guarantee you the game was designed to have the option. Cyberpunk is also open world, its a completely different kettle of fish as far as implementation. Try again.

Wow you are right, I saw allot triggered pcmr comments. It kinda funny some of the reactions. 😆

Not sure what's all the bickering over, but apparently, reflections are not just restricted to cars but sharp ones like bodies of water.

So...

RT PC medium ?

trollface :)
The fact there's this many people mistaking Pro footage for PC Path Tracing (with mods even), and straight up refusing to believe it's not should tell you everything.

RT shadows and RT reflections (on transparent/sharp surfaces only though) are Psycho settings. Not sure RT AO and those RT lighting elements, but according to ERA those are too.

Thats some of the best ray traced reflections we ve seen on console no ?
I think they might be. I've heard they are full res, they render all shadows within the reflection, and the distance is huge. Yes, I don't think I've seen better on console.

I think these might be the best graphics on a console yet. The RT fits so well with the Cyberpunk vibe.
Best RT probably. Best looking graphics in general I highly doubt.
Despite what some blind idiots could say, lighting is nowhere even near PC version Path Tracing.

But it's a great Pro showcase, and on the other hand usually graphically/technically heavy games don't have this level of IQ.

I wasn't comparing it to PC version with Path Tracing, I was comparing it to other console games.

I might boot it up later to see how it looks on my Pro. I already own it on PC where I run it maxed out with Path Tracing and LUT graphical mods but it's nice to see a console finally getting some proper RT with this game.

Cyberpunk is still the benchmark when it comes their ray tracing implementation, not to mention how performant it is considering Night City is chock-full of light sources.

It's also just how well RT works with the Cyberpunk and neon art style. There's a lot of games which just don't benefit as much from RT not because their implementation is bad, but it doesn't add much to the art style.
