Cyberpunk 2077 PlayStation 5 Pro enhancements detailed (Patch releases April 8)

No one's gonna spend a grand for a Console to play games at 30fps interpolated to 60fps. Going to feel and especially look like shit.
Hardware would be dead on arrival. Everyone would be mocking the comparisons with PS5 Pro.

Actual 60fps Fidelity (like 99% of Pro games today), with maybe a little bit MFG from drops in the 50's to help maintain it on super demanding Path Tracing games.
More extensive MFG use for 120fps modes.

Anything less than this would be a huge and colossal disappointment, personally. But I've heard Cerny, we should be good.

I have faith.
Have faith in the fact it would be as expensive as it needs to allow for it.

30fps PS6..

Just the mere presence or mention of it would be rightfully mocked till the end of time after an entire 60fps generation. Path Tracing or not.
I can guarantee you there will be people here in this board fighting for 30 fps implementation just like this gen .... graphic whoring will always exist.

CDPR always did PS5 solid despite PS Store delisting story. CP2077 dualsense integration is among the best and with Pro patch, it is by far the best version around if you don't own a PC.

Yeah.. we've spent an entire generation playing everything at 60fps (as 40fps were rare exceptions), let's go into the next one with 20fps less.

Must be super pleasant for PS5 Pro users especially already playing Fidelity modes at 60fps.
In a lot of games on Pro, the '60fps Fidelity mode' often ends up being closer to the base performance mode than the base fidelity mode unfortunately. Usually the 40fps mode is closer (such as in Starwars Outlaws)

There's a 30/40 and 60/90 modes in this version so yeah options.

And even FSR toggle for those that want to experience how shitty it looks.

Options are great, especially on "Pro" consoles - games should have as much of them as possible.

Watched the DF video. RT reflections are very limited which is disappointing for a game like this with rainy streets and neon signs etc. Hoping for a PS6/ next xbox version.

Swear there is RT reflections in the 1st highrise apartment. Not just cars

Edit, also outside the apartment.
Did DF even check this thoroughly or did they improve it since then?

Im using Ray tracing graphics mode.

Rain looks really bad. Like GTA definitive edition bad. At least on photo mode.

If any of you know where the Bladerunner Easter egg is that makes it rain, could you have a look?

True, all glass has RT reflections

Just tried it and I was coming here to say just this, all glass has RT reflections, not sure how DF missed this.

It looks amazing overall, but one thing I noticed, although the image is now very sharp with PSSR2, they didn't increase the anisotropic filtering with it, so now you can see moire patters in high frequency textures due to excessive detail.
Hopefully they can fix this.

It is.

And with ~5070-5070Ti RT performance (or better, RDNA5 is quite a leap forward for AMD) it should be able to play CP2077 with full PT in 60fps from ~864p base resolution (so 2.5x scaling using PSSR2/3).
I'll preface by saying I don't know tech workings that well, but my 9800x3d and 5070ti ASUS run overdrive on Cyberpunk with mods and have no issues, while using the NVIDIA tech.

I don't see a reason the 6 won't be able to do these things with reconstruction or up scaling or however they do it.

Gonna fire up the Pro, download. I was hoping to look at them side by side, but I lose HDR on my Odyssey monitor when I have two side by side screens running.

Freaking exciting times to be gamers, man. I have been waiting for the tech, games, all the fun things to start rolling around again and for me it has.

I don't think DF did a thorough job with their analysis. Blind Oliver captured some footage just walking/driving around, mostly outdoors, and had Alex comment on it. It's shocking that they didn't even attempt to do this comparison that was quite popular back in the day:

I think they just toyed with the update 10 minutes max, launching one save in NC, one in Dogtown and taking some random footage without really looking to spot and show the strongest differences.

Very unprofessional

Alex mentioned it works in all smooth surfaces, not just car windows.
