PC is my primary platform, so I don't really have a need to buy in day-one for consoles anymore to play new stuff.
This generation I already waited a year in before I picked up a PS5, didn't buy an Xbox, and won't bother with a Switch 2 until they do the OLED version.
It's frankly not even that big of a deal, because first-party output quality has declined vs previous generations, cross-generation games will if anything stick around longer, and graphical jumps have been hitting diminished returns. If anything, I have more priority to get another PC for the living room now that Valve's Steam Deck interface works on Linux with Nvidia hardware now.
