NateTheHate's Recent Nintendo Rumors: Ocarina of Time Remake, "Classic" Style Starfox in 2026, Next 3D Mario in 2027

OoT remake release holiday 2026? Very unlikely that they kept this game secret for that long.

But I would be very happy with a Zelda OoT remake with new weapons and areas. Remember that collecting all skullutas originally had an unique item as a reward and not just rupees.

I am in for 3D Mario and a new Star Fox. As a big Zelda fan, I am not sure if I am really in for an Ocarina of Time remake. I'd rather they make a completely new one, tbh. And release Wind Waker HD on Switch/Switch 2.
 
I'd buy a Switch 2 for a true reimagining of Ocarina of Time. But I suspect they'd just take that 3DS remake and upscale it with better textures. That's most likely.

One rumor going around is the Zelda game may be the game that Monolith has been working on this whole time. We will have to wait and see.
 
They did recently make that ocarina of time lego set.

I don't know if I believe it, but I would welcome either a remaster or a remake of OOT.

Ill say it again, Just give the super mario 3D all stars treatment to the N64 and 3DS versions and call it a day. Dont need nintendo smoking from the cRapcom crack pipe.

I've only ever played the Switch Zelda's so OOT will be my first experience of it if it does get ported. Hope its as good as everybody says.

Mario wonder was revealed june then came out october so there is precedent

Zelda OoT is one of the most tech dated games Ive ever seen... that means that the SAME GAME is absolutely transformed for the better with simply additions like 60 fps, quick item change and a god send second analogue, so go for it :-D
 
I play Ocarina Of Time every summer, it is my all time favorite game but I really don't understand a remake for this game. Unless they are trying something completely different like make the graphics super realistic or something I don't know why would a remake would work, Star Fox is cool though I hope they have some sort of Online mode
 
A port collection of OoT3D/MM3D/WWHD/TPHD is all I want, a remake is just Nintendos excuse to ask for $90 for a single game again. New Star Fox this year and new Mario next year could be interesting, though. I have literally nothing to play on my Switch rn, since Pokopia was lowkey a disappointment for me as well as every other Nintendo game I bought for the system so far.

For OOT I genuinely would just be happy with a touched up 3DS port.

Starfox OK, I will buy - there's more potential in the IP though so I hope they go big with it.
 
STARFOX?! About damn time! I wouldn't mind a remake/remaster of parts 1, 2 and Starfox 64 and put it into a big bundle like
Capcom did with Resident Evil Generations.

They kept the internally developed 3D Donkey Kong game well under wraps following the cancellation of the Vicarious Visions version.

If Nintendo is doing a remake you are going to see big changes. They called Prime 1 as a Remaster and it was glorious.

I just don't see how you can remake it without facing impossible scrutiny and criticism. Any changes would be blown up and highlighted to the nth degree. Everything would have to be handled in the most delicate and loving way and even that might not be enough.

If they are doing a remake the criticism is inevitable from the purists… Still, i prefer a remake than another touched up N64 remaster.

I don't believe he mentioned any third parties except Devil May Cry as coming. They did talk about GTA, but didn't offer a comment on if it was coming day and date. MVG does not believe it was coming at launch.

Even if GTA dos not come day and date to NS2.

Look at what we know about for this year so to come and a few were assume are coming like COD.

Nate mentioned classic style Star Fox with online multiplayer… This could still go all kinds of ways but sign me the eF up!

DK and Star Fox have been the 2 biggest franchises I've been waiting for to get fully back on track. If we ever get 3D Yoshi and 3rd Person 3D Metroid I'll be set so hard.

Mario can come in March. I'm fine with that.

He has previously mentioned GTA 6, Silent Hill 2 and MGS Delta as having had playtests for Switch 2 in this video. Sorry, don't know the timestamp. Playtest also doesn't mean the games are coming for sure, but it does mean they have been considered for a Switch 2 launch.
