There is a lot of nuance to these things. If Sony is far along on the development of PS6, they will not cancel it. even if it means they come in at $1000. I personally have always pegged the price of the PS6 to be whatever the PS5pro cost at launch, so if a PS5pro is going to be $900, then unless something changes between now and fall next year, the PS6 will be at least that much.Sony should cancel any launch plans for ps6 for next year, if they haven't already
I highly doubt it would be less than 1000$ in the current environment and goodbye to sales if they launch at that price.
Wonder when Xbox and nintendo will announce their price increase
Baffles the mind that we're in a situation where some PS5 scalpers may have actually sold day 1 PS5 consoles in 2020 at a lower cost than Sony's own 2026 MSRP.
Gabe is not even sure his hardware can muster RAM, let alone settle on release window or prices.
and you guys still think the ps6 is going have 30 gigs of ram?![]()
I feel like some of you are completely blind to the world around you and what's been happening.Lmao. Greedy prices from a greedy company.
Go on fanboys, defend this move.
Sony is gouging prices and nVidia is out here gaslighting us that the future of gaming requires a $3000 GPU. Hopefully developers and publishers properly read the room and stop forcing specs higher and higher for now reason. We are well past diminishing returns.I'm at a point where I can't afford such luxuries anymore. And with next gen coming up, the 1.000€ barrier will break for sure. I'm glad I built a PC last year, at least that way I can still play the modern stuff for a while. The state of gaming rn is absolute embarrassment imo.
Even with all these console price increase, the second hand market on xbox and ps consoles doesn't seem to be going up. Still pretty easy to get one cheaper then they were at launch.
12 gb ram baby. Got mineAgreed. If you don't have a Switch 2 and want one, now is the time to buy.
Steam Deck discontinued$700 for a Steam machine is too bad of value versus a $500 PS5.
Gabe: OK, I'll wait.

Wafer cost went up. RAM cost went up. SSD cost went up. Inflation drove up materials, labor and manufacturing cost in general. How do you increase the price of old technology.
Make you wonder what they'll want for new tech
Not really most great games now are under 30$ and can run on a low-mid tier 10yo gpu.
When the answer is to raise the price and do a "fuck you got mine" response to economic affairs, they deserve the ire. The excuse for a price hike due to economic factors is just coprorations passing the cost along to us and never feeling the financial ramifications for themselves. You need to see right through it. Let me remind you, they keep raising prices in the face of record profits every single year.I feel like some of you are completely blind to the world around you and what's been happening.
Buy one now your still going to save moneyShould've kept my PS5 Pro!![]()
according to the internets Sony has a 16% profit margin already on the PS5.Nothing that was done back then to reduce costs works in the current landscape.
What French guy? I must have missed it.I owe a French guy an apology
I swear this is one big psyop all gen long to get more people to adopt early next-gen.
Ah yes, the global geopolitical fuckery is all a conspiracy to make people buy consoles early.I swear this is one big psyop all gen long to get more people to adopt early next-gen.
Same thing with 5090s and the like.Anyone who spent $399 in 2020 now owns a piece of kit that's almost 100% more in value.
2020 consoles are aging like 70's Mustang's.
Same thing with 5090s and the like.
Hell, I'm sitting on a bunch of DDR I'm about to sell for triple, lol.
Save it, that shit is gonna pay off your kids college fund.
Ah yes, the global geopolitical fuckery is all a conspiracy to make people buy consoles early.
Back during the summer I was trying to warn people. You could build a 5060ti 16GB system for ~$950. That was the original price of a PS5 Pro and three years of base PS+. But the PC was more powerful.Yep, throw in taxes and stand and it's a cool $1000 in US. Add 3 years of PSN on top and PC doesn't seem that bad of a deal.
That's exactly what it is, they are out to make a profit so extra costs are passed to the consumers so they can continue making a profit. Not exactly a novel concept, this is how the economy operates. If companies are not making a profit then they don't have any reason to do business. As much as I would like them to be a charity and eat all the costs, it's unrealistic to expect them to do so especially when living under such uncertain and unprecedented conditions. It boggles my mind how People can attribute changes in electronic prices to just greed, it's like they haven't watched the news in months or haven't been to a grocery store to see how even basic necessities have skyrocketed in price. When the answer is to raise the price and do a "fuck you got mine" response to economic affairs, they deserve the ire. The excusefor a price hike due to economic factors is just coprorations passing the cost along to us and never feeling the financial ramifications for themselves. You need to see right through it.
