Spanish girl, 25, to be euthanized…

I don't like the trend of where assisted suicide is going. As we've seen with gender surgeries, there seems to be a movement within the medical industry that whatever a patient says they want is the best thing for the patient and objective harms be damned. And you have doctors who pledge an oath, are seemingly giddy about doing heinous things to people under the guise of empathy. Which shows they neither understood their oath nor understand the concept of empathy.

I hope the rest of the world doesn't get to the madness that Canada is currently in, because it's quite sinister, and I hope Canada soon has an about face on their policies and dial them back.

If people decide to kill themselves, it's sad, but it's their decision, they did it on their own. But unless someone is terminally ill or a vegetable, no the medical establishment should not be killing people.

Maybe the rape didn't lasted long enough to be considered rape.

You know the drill.
They where undocumented minors.. i.e. fucking 20+year olds who lied to some do gooder fucking immigrant social worker who listed them probably as 14y.os... I'd be doing the social workers that placed them there, the people running the home that allowed this to take place and above all the rapist cunts that did this.. jesus why isn't Spain burning over this? Any time one of those cunts steps out of line in Northern Ireland we burn the place down and everyone goes into riot mode

She's traumatized and has BPD, which commonly involves periods of suicidal ideation. Lots of BPD people on GAF over the years, don't think we should euthanize them when they're at a low point just because they think it's a good idea at the time.
Two years is a long low point though.
Its harder to stomach for someone so young but I have had elderly relatives who all I could wish for them would that they had been able to die sooner, before they lost any semblance of self and became husks being moved from one humiliation to another.

I don't know how this starts or happens but what I keep hearing about Spain people in America better damn well be appreciative of the fact that we still have some kind of sovereignty or else this kind of bullshit will continue to spread worldwide. It sucks that it happened and that she tried to take her life but this is not the way.

So let me get this straight. They don't have capital punishment (death penalty), but also, there are rules that certain violent and atrocious individuals can be too "mentally ill" to stand trial (or put to death)... but you're not too mentally ill for the state to off you like a pit bull who bit a child?

Demonic, really.

You don't understand. We came out from under a brutal dictatorship and everything concerning law, justice, etc was modified to be ultra garantist of the rights of people being investigated/accused/condemned/imprisoned by the state.

Circumstances have changed and changes should be made, but: the right won't do it because every time one of these things hits the media they get to make wood, the left won't do it because they still carry the memory of the dictatorship repression.

In a nutshell, it's fucked and it won't get fixed: welcome to Spain.

She's only 25 and she can walk with crutches. She can literally walk up stairs by holding the railing. It's a tough situation to be sure but worlds away from a terminal or hopeless one. The psychological trauma can be moved past, medicated. Her disability can improve with physio and potentially be fixed within the next decade or less.

She should be helped and supported, not killed.

Yeah, people can get better from almost every psychological trauma, time alone fixes a lot of this and it's not like modern medicine don't offer pills that make you feel better.

She shouldn't be allowed to make decision like that - especially in her mental state, she isn't thinking objectively.

Actually I've read that euthanise yourself to not being a bother to your family and a burden to your country is increasingly popular in the Netherlands. But alas, I'd euthanise myself too if I lived in Northern Europe. /jk

What

Where did u read that because as a Dutch man I've literally never heard of this.

She has had a torturous childhood and young adulthood but I pray someone can touch her heart before tomorrow.

May she find peace. No matter where you fall on the debate on her decision, the village that raised her continually failed her and we can only hope, perhaps foolishly, that lessons will be learned and changes enacted.

I've been following the Canadian euthanasia stuff for a while. The numbers they have going over there and the reasons for which they do it are absolutely insane.

Tragic and sad. I hope she can find the peace in death that she could not find in this life.
I still think it is her descision and i have no right to question it. There is trauma you cannot heal from and live a life worth living.

The rapists should be flayed.

I feel really bad for her. Where is the Family? The Support Network? Friends? I feel half the reason she may want to die is because she feels how bad the system failed her and she might not even be worth living. It's disgusting if the system that failed her is right there, front and center, is ready to take her life and doll out her organs, like they're owed...
This is really fucked up to see..

fucking christ...

I'm sorry but people think they have problems, but then you see this, and you see someone who went through real pain and suffering, that is so sad.

Were her rapists euthanized too?

By and large, while it might be her decision I feel like the euthanisia in the west is going to turn into a huge human organ factory soon.
My first thought was that. I mean, gang-rapping somebody and completely break them mentally is one of the most vile thing you can do to a human being. The emotional part of me feels like these scumbags deserve nothing short of the chair.

Then I read they were all minors... :messenger_weary: Jesus f***n christ what do you even do in a situation like this?

Horrible, horrible situation all around.

Was just reading about this and it is horrific.

Feels like society is heading to a very dark place.

The current Spanish Government are also absolutely horrendous and will quickly send the country to gutter.

This has been on and off the media here for about a week, but not a single mention to the fucker that did that to her (just a vague s**** assaulted, depression etc). What a shit show.

May she rest in pace.

It is a very difficult subject on all accounts. First I have heard about this. So first, may she RIP. I cannot fathom the pain and anguish she must have been going through. First off being gang rapped, the failure of justice and then the failure of her suicide which left her a cripple. I truly pity the hand this universe dealt her in life. Hopefully she finds a better one in death.

There is no right answer here. Some have mentioned the economics of it, or the public safety aspect of it. On the other hand, its assisted suicide by the state and not just a 3rd party like in Kavorkian's case. Never mind the morals of it all, which even in the most extreme cases(vegitative, terminal) are questionable at best.

There is little information about why she was taken from her parents - and then anything to do with the rape other than it occured. Quite possible she didn't talk about the rape to anyone until long after it occured.

Thank fucking God you think she can just move past her trauma. If only she had heard this things would have been dandy. You dont get to decide how she feels and how she experiences life. This woman has gone through things you couldnt even imagine and has been fighting ever since. What a brave decision she's made and thank god it was possible. May she rest in peace.

The state has killed her. Rest in peace.
You slimy fuck.

Slimy for wanting the victim of rape to live and prosper? Shut the fuck up you evil asshole.

Yeah, we're missing a lot of info.
Without that, I'd say the real travesty here is the justice system for failing her.

That's assuming she ever approached them or was willing to talk if they approached her. Not that it would have likely made any difference to her - the damage was already done.

Sad story all around.
I'm in favor of euthanasia in cases of terminal illness, heavy degenerative illnesses, heavy injury and things like that. But in cases of mental health like this I think it's definitely a very slippery slope.

I read up a bit on it bit.
From what I found it seems like she had a troubled and sad life even before the rape, her mother lost her house due to financial issues, they had to go live with her dad who had problems with alcohol. She was also diagnosed with a few disorders like OCD and BPD had several suicide attempts as a teen (before the rape) and spent some time in a psychiatric facility too.

I get you're probably going through depression by how this is worded but you should never talk to anyone like that.

The Spanish institutions are traitorous, letting in the worst of humanity.

The institutions will soon enough be run by the invaders though, so... 🤷‍♂️

At this moment I would not be shocked to find out here organs will be transplanted into people associated with high level figures from the leftist ruling party, the stench of corruption around Sanchez is unbearable.

D.E.P.

Surely there has to be a better solution than this ?

While you'd hope, maybe or maybe not. She had mental health issues, which are often difficult if not impossible to escape, prior to being gang raped and prior to her second suicide attempt that left her body partially broken, both of which would push anyone further down the pits of depression. You can argue, as her family argued, that she's not of sound mind to make the decision and hope that she escapes the clutches of what haunts her. But she's 25 and had made the decision for herself, several times in fact. I don't know the answer, but I do consider the question if it is better to let her end her own life somewhat peacefully rather than than the ways she's attempted prior which were much more painful. I'd weigh that against the hope that she'll find herself in a better place and get better. She was 25 and while young, still an adult. If she isn't allowed to make that decision now, then when...if ever? The average life expectancy of a woman in Spain is a little over 86 years. 60 years is a long road if you have hope that she'll get better, but it's also a really long time to live in that mental space if she didn't.

Kind of pissed at EviLore EviLore right now for creating this thread. This question has been in my head all day long now. It's just so...sad.
