Marathon approaching 15k CCU low (sponsored by coachmcguirk91 - still having a blast)

While rising, the graph will often show a misleading flattening out in the current hour, depending on the time you are looking at it. The final point being used in the graph will continue to rise over the course of the hour.

ie. If you look early during the hour it will show flat, but if you look near the end of the hour it will show more like you would expect.

Me liking the game is not the point. You know it.

So I am in the target, right? I just didn't like the game. Not everyone in the target will love it. It's simple to understand.

It 100% is when you stated "You're not the target demographic." Which is a wrong statement anyway since as I already told you I played Tarkov for years, which, you know... is an extraction shooter.

Just take the L, admit you were wrong and move out to your safe space that is the OT.

Lol but I'm correct. You're not the target demographic of Sony. You've aged out. I play the game I'll stay in the CCU. You don't 👋

I'm always interested in numbers. Business, sports stats, gaming CCU etc... really got into numbers when my bro taught me as a kid how to calculate pitcher era, hockey gaa, and even how to read a horse racing program. I'm even up $500 this year doing sports bets!
That's a feat, considering most sports bettors are - generally - down.

And you know what is so amazing? That the business idea of going woke is to attract more demographics, make more money and make your company more competitive

Has never worked!!!! 😂🤣😂🤣

So, this talk about demographics is so fucking retarded in the first place!!!

Oh but don't worry "attract more demographics" is the next step but I'm going easy on him since he's already having a hard time with admiting that 35 is in the range of 18-35.

Why do they all have a little shelf either before or after?
Every game is different. It depends where a game is most popular. There's typically 3 possible peaks.... USA est (incl Toronto/Montreal), Europe which has two popular timezones split by UK and mostly rest of continent, and Asian region time zones.

All will skew heavy to gaming in that 9-11 pm local time hours.

That little shelf part you see for marathon (which can also be a small dip) is the time gap between European gamers heading to bed but USA hasn't ramped up yet as it's around USA dinner time or just after.

Asia time zones are about 12 hours ahead. So any game that has a huge skew at like 8 or 9 am est time is really peak evening gaming time there. A game like slay spire 2 for example.

A game huge in Europe will have an est peak around 4 or 5 pm EST.

Weekend peaks are often not that much higher than weekdays. That's because gamer are spread out across hours more. So weekend mountains are often fatter and wider than thinner and pointier.

The ones playing this and refusing to see all the issues with it is why the game is/will fail. The community small as it is needs to take it to Bungie to fix everything that's wrong, otherwise you guys won't have a Marathon to play at all.
Yeah you're right, if I start posting about how much it sucks on NeoGaf then Bungie will be saved!!

The defense force/coping for mediocre games will never cease to amuse me.

It's amusing and also can't wrap my head around it.

Like, you can enjoy or love a game that isn't all that well received. I do. I will even hype it up when asked "what am I playing" or "what is my favorte game", etc.

I don't fucking defend it like it was my own busienss or a blood relative. That's insane to me. It's a game or a piece of hardware or a studio, etc.

On the purple site, I kind of understand it more as that forum is a hot bed for sock puppets of devs and coporate insiders. It's scummy and deceptive but they have a vested interested. of their careers. They are astroturfing or doing damage control. I hate that deception but it makes sense.

But when you are playing hard defense instead of just enjoying the game for free, it's sad.

This game is incredible and it is weird how many people are praying for its downfall.

It is a legit 9/10 experience and for once a AAA studio has designed something with an uncompromised vision that is not for the masses but for a very specific type of player and it really resonates.

There are no aggressive mtx, there is technically a battle pass but you forever it's even there. Unique and awesome music/art direction. Gameplay that does not hold the player's hand but is deep and rewards skill. An interesting story told in a completely unconventional way. Released at $40. Concord 3 this is not. They managed to make something wholly original, complete devoid of anything "woke" or predatory or derivative.

Totally fine if it is not for you, this is not something that will resonate with most players, but if you give it the time there is actually something truly special here and I honestly feel like we should be celebrating big swings like this instead of delighting over the idea of it dying. But because it is Bungie or multiplayer or an extraction shooter or some combination thereof, some will call it trash, and those people are wrong.
That and there are a few here still upset over Bungie joining Sony when nothing about where their games are published has changed.

The obsession over this game to fail is kind of weird, I've played plenty of bad games and this just isn't one of them

There are things that need to improve, some of them asap, my last two runs in cryo got screwed by RNG for the security cards and I still have no clue how to even do the first vault

Ranked is pretty unique and fun and gives that risk reward gameplay

Best part is just the players I've met, not had an extraction sitter where most player I team with randomly just communicate and play to try and get as much loot and escape, during that paid have tense fun gameplay moments

Either way I hope it survives, has alot of fun and it's got potential
This, exactly, this. It is such a weird thing.

How it started: "You're not the target demographic"

How it's going: "Wait, why are even fewer people playing?"
Well every day people turns 36 and immediately hate playstation... its a know phenomenon go search.

Oh and 18-36 somehow also has more money to spare ... my 18 year self should have known this, stupid fuck.

I wonder how many of the delayed reviewers even got to fully experience the cryo archive, let alone even get in.

Supposedly its too hard for the average joe and you need an Excel spreadsheet to figure out the map. Only unemployed giga chads were able to get to the main boss so I'm gonna say zero.

It's just funny to me tho because I don't shy from difficult games but I don't seek them out to flex my big dawg dick even more, know what I mean?

Like I have platinums in what most consider tough games, I carry in most pvp games 1.8 to 2.5 kd givd or take, played all the shooters, been to the lighthouse many times in destiny, i can hang in whatever is my point but I don't need to seek out stressful games to enjoy myself or buy into the hardcore mentality. If it's part of a game I love sure ok but I'm not going to throw myself into an oncoming train for the sake of it.

That's why extraction I think is fit for such a small audience despite the couple successful games, as a gamer I love these type of conversations about genres and games because I like to analyze the things I enjoy and I try to engage with as many genres as possible but damn I just don't "get" the pull to extraction. Been over it many times but man I just don't get it. As a pvp guy I don't see the light with that genre mode whatsoever

I think they like to pretend that Bungie made the game for a niche audience to distract of the failure ...

"Hey mama Sony you bought us for 3.6 billions now get me 300 mil so I can do a hardcore game for a very niche audience"

I really dont think the pitch or idea was this.. they gambled and fucked up.

I'm only seeing the 24hr peak count and it hasn't fallen below 50k. Cryo came and went, took some souls but I gotta admit motherfuckers are consistent af.

I personally maintain if it still reaches 50k consistently for the next two weeks, Bungie had successfully migrated the Destiny PvP addicts.

Edit: my B. Cryo is still active. Different timezone messed me.

That's the peak. The average is the actual meat and potatoes

The game still has 2.5 months before a new season.

In that time there's a lot even without Cryo for people to work towards and have fun with.

The question will be as more complete these things after maybe end of month 2, what Bungie has planned for those who like it and how to bring in new players.

They have more feedback than they know what to do with so it'll be interested to see how they pivot.

Someone should tell that to the 10k people who didn't turn up today.

Current CCU was 40k this time last week, now 30k.

I read this in Hollywood Hogan's voice. "Let me tell ya somethin', brother!"

I hate the way outlets tip-toe around these things, like when they had to give Nightreign a higher score than deserved because of the fanbase. It's like the game is genius but might not be for everyone.......
