Or is it just one of Adam's balls in my throat?

Thank you to those who have been playing Crimson Desert and sharing your feedback with us.

As we mentioned in [a previous notice], we have been paying close attention to your experiences across issue reports, videos, livestreams, and community discussions. Your feedback has been invaluable to us, and we appreciate the time and care you have taken to share it with us. This patch includes some of the improvements and fixes we were able to prepare first, including changes based on player feedback, like the addition of a Storage at Howling Hill Camp for storing your Inventory items and some improvements related to keyboard and mouse controls. However, this is not the end to our control improvements; we will continue to improve both controller and keyboard/mouse controls moving forward.

We are currently reviewing various gameplay elements based on your feedback and will roll out further improvements and fixes in subsequent updates. We remain committed to improving Crimson Desert and your experience in Pywel. Thank you once again for your continued support.
Details regarding the patch schedule, fixes, and improvements can be found below.

I'll pick it up again post summer, by then hopefully they'd have ironed out most of the my concerns.
Good call, my man. I bought the game but probably will wait till summer too. Time is too tight, barely touched RE9.

I can see this game being hard if you had zero food items, but if that were the case it would be on the player not on the game.

10+ bosses down and I haven't died to any of them (thank you Fish Porridge and Clear Soup).

First boss doesn't count...obv.

They added in ps5 pro settings now not just v sync off but 120hz mode on and off.

Not sure wtf I should do now

These ppl can't play these type of games. They just want to go in and get it done. They don't plan and prepare.

I saw complaints about the controls having too many inputs and wondered if gamers were now in favor of contextual A for everything.

Still getting a lot of DLSS noise no matter which preset I use. Only way to get rid of it is turn RR on. And that tanks performance. Even on a 4090.

The only issue I have had with the game is that it randomly crashes. The first crash I had forced my PC to restart. Reinstalled vid card drivers, since then I only get crashes to desktop. It's really odd, sometimes I can play for a good bit and other times I can go only about 20 minutes.

Other than that I have had a hell of a good time.

Really cool to see that they listen to feedback and act on it quickly. I'll wait a year or so before playing though 🙂

Mod support sure would be great.

Difficulty didn't need to be nerfed, but probably the first of many.
Yeah, this is what I was afraid of. They're probably going to keep nerfing until people stop complaining.

And if they follow this typical MMO-timeline, they'll most likely introduce a new 'hard mode' months after they've already nerfed everything into the ground.

Did they fix the game reloading my setting (HDR, Performance Mode etc) every time I boot it up? Only real complaint I have so far, could do with a dynamic HUD too, swipe touchpad to reveal active quest, option of compass at top of screen instead/in addition to minimal would be welcome too. Other than that the game is fantastic, no need to adjust difficulty, love the way it controls and feels 👌

Glad for the patch, but I have stopped playing until there are more patches. The obtuse systems, inventory madness and layered control schemes outdid the enjoyment of exploring.

This is why big media reviews on Metacritic don't mean anything for modern games. Now nobody is going to play that "78 Metacritic" game but the score will still stay there even after all improvements.

Yeah I must admit it's put me right off.

Will wait for a deep sale in a years time and hopefully all fixed then.

Then again, I've never jumped into fallout 76, despite that being redeemed apparently these days and with me loving the games.

I think I'll get it once I'm done with Expedition 33 and a replay of Starfield after the April update.

But something needs to be done about critics reviews. Even years later people still look at Metacritic to decide if they should purchase something, and use metascore to compare games quality, even though review scores only show how the game was ahead of launch.
What game the last 5 years hasn't had a post-launch patch?

Ah I thought it was the free lanes or whatever the just announced update was in April.

Not been paying much attention to it
Is the "Free Lanes" free update which is the "2.0" update everyone kept talking about. Plus they will release a new Expansion.

I knew they would adjust the boss difficulty. It's common with many games to have overtuned bosses on release as the only people playtesting it have been in-house QA who know how to approach every fight so they get a false signal on the true difficulty. That said, many people complaining don't do any prep before facing the bosses, I mean I always over-level, always try and work out how to cheese boss fights - to me that's the whole point of games. No honourable fights for me, I'll kite until your AI breaks, I'll gain a height advantage then pepper you from range, I'll get you trapped in a corner, I'll stun-lock you with a "broken build" - nothing is off the table.

I'm worried they're going to make the game too easy with all these reactionary nerfs. I know the Chapter 5 boss was too cheap, but the Reed Devil was perfectly doable before this patch.

You shouldn't reward people for not interacting with the systems you built into the game.

The QoL thigns are very welcome when it comes to controls and inventory (although I managed the controls so far). Wouldn't know about the difficulty, as I haven't really started the true adventure just yet.

It was happening to me too , i did the verify integrity of game files in steam and I played a hour tonight without any crashes, hopefully nomore crashes

Don't forget devs were crunching over the weekend all due to strange decisions during the main dev cycle.

  • [Keyboard/Mouse] Added the following shortcuts to open and close certain menus:
    • Inventory:
      [*]Skills: [K]
      [*]Journal: [J]
      [*]Map: [M]
Imagine seeing this shit from a developer that is known for MMO's. Fucking hilariously bad. I'd fire whoever designed their control schemes.

Finally item storage. LOL

That's a very basic stuff at RPG games. How the hell they've missed that to add that during game development. LOL

I get the feeling this game will be best experienced about 12 months after release (a frustrating reality for many big games)
