Perhaps it's my age but I'm enjoying figuring this game out. I like that it lets you play it systems it hasn't explained yet (or may never explain). I could see why a generation raised on 5 second long videos might have a hard time with it though.

I have no clue what you are talking about when it comes to Crimson Desert. How is this game even brought up in a conversation alongside Veilguard? There is no anti-woke messaging here.
Something being politically agnostic, as in normal, is considered "anti woke" to the religion of ideology is what I'm gathering.

Meditate on it. Open your third eye.
Sounds more like things coming from the brown eye.

It's actually typical leftist behavior, anything that is not explicitly radical left is "right wing". So if you're not actively promoting Marxism you're anti-woke.

I'm gonna say something extremely stupid but I'm starting to see some sort of correlation / pattern.

Crimson Desert is to Neogaf what Dragon Age The Veilguard was to Resetera. A mediocre game that is being championed because it seems like an "own" to the opposite side.

Prove me wrong, because I bet time will prove me right.
How could anyone possibly prove you wrong? You've already made up your mind. And what could anyone possibly say that would prove anything anyway?

As someone who has been very critical of Crimson Desert, I think you're completely wrong. In fact, I think time will prove the opposite, because all of the major problems with Crimson Desert are technical or control wise, and most these things will either be fixed by the developers or modders who are already working on them. The game has great bones, it's just a fucking mess and needs a lot of work to be what it should have been at launch. Also, anyone using it as a culture war fight is kinda stupid, because if that were the case it would be getting much better reception in Asia, where they don't care about that stuff, and yet it got no China boost, it got no Korea boost, and their review scores are significantly lower than ours.

Veilguard was always dogshit, everyone knew it, some people just chose to push it because of their social, political nonsense. These two games aren't comparable.

That is true, to an extent. These days, with all the nonsense that goes on in gaming, being politically neutral is considered a win for most normal people.

Weird pull, especially when there is a better example of this place feeling like the opposite but equal reaction to the other place still on the first page of gaming discussions.

The game has proper bethesda levels of JANK.
I tried the first person camera looked at my feet and i could see through the ground 😂

That's one of Kliff's powers. Hit left on the d-pad four times, do a fireball motion with the light analog stick, and then press B, B, A, hold Y and then click the right analog stick to turn it off.

Like clockwork. Black Myth and now Crimson Desert; amazing how much shit gets thrown at a dev from outside the Western AAA industry because they dared to try and actually succeeded.
Can't wait for the inevitable rounds of smear articles.

All this gatekeeping is not unlike Hollywood and the music industry.

Who did these people piss off? How many hit pieces are we going to see on them this week?

The subtext is that a bunch of people who expected and are used to the quintessential "modern western AAA experience" got slapped in the face by Korean Chads who told them to shove their yellow paint, agenda driven "stories", gender A and B, level scaling, difficulty modes, and handholding up their arse.

The result is a bunch of butthurt people who thought they were "gamers" feeling like they have had their first taste of what it was like stepping in to Morrowind in 2002 for the first time and they don't know what to do with themselves because it's made them realise they were just a bunch of tourists this whole time.

As such, they are on a crusade to try and make it so that big budget videogames that are actually videogames, especially those coming out of the East, don't have any success or long standing influence on the industry as a whole.

Meh, the game you're describing sounds more like KCD2 than this. Crimson Desert is one of the most aggressively mediocre games in a while. It's just TikTok normie bait with its Jon Snow protagonist , "300+ hour" appeal.
