What Are Your Most Played Games According to Platform Stats?

and what's kept you playing them for so long?

Should probably mention that I play games really slowly and I often leave them idling for hours while I'm doing something else. Still, though.

Crusader Kings 2 at 665.1 hours followed by Crusader Kings 3 at 424.5 hours. I love history stuff, and I love sim-rpg type games, and these games are basically history strategy with a lot of rpg and The Sims stuff, too. I could complain about all the things that I would do better all day, but they're pretty unique and they do a lot of things really well.

War Thunder 404.8 hours. I haven't played this one for a while because they've really tightened the f2p screws, but back in the day it was a lot of fun. I moved on to MS Flight Sim 2020, IL-2 Sturmovik Battle for Stalingrad, and more recently X-Plane 12. Still waiting for another flight sim to let me fly a Zero or a strategic bomber like the Pe-8 around, though.

Total War Shogun II 375 hours, Total War Medieval II 321.3 hours, Total War Rome II 258.6 hours, Total WAr Empire 229.9 hours, Total War Three Kingdoms 202.6 hours, Total War Warhammer 152.2 hours, Total War Warhammer II 145.5 hours. I uh, I like these games a lot. Especially with mods. Total War Medieval II in particular has probably the greatest modding scene for any game of all time. It's like Crusader Kings with less rpg and sim mechanics but with 4x city building and big cinematic battles. Been addicted to these games since I got Medieval 1 in one of those collections of PC games they used to sell in stores back in the day.

Mount & Blade Warband 307.2 hours. This might be the most grindy game of all time, so I've never actually beat it, but I like it for the same reasons as the other history games. Less strategic and sim depth, but lots of cool mods, plus you get big third person battles and you can dress up your character.

Yakuza 0 265 hours, Yakuza 3 Remastered 166.5 hours, Yakuza Kiwami (Legacy) 127.9 hours, Yakuza 4 Remastered 120.5 hours, Yakuza Kiwami 2 (Legacy) 107.4 hours. This is one of my favourite series of all time, ever since I played Yakuza 1 on PS2 back in the day. I love everything about them. The newer ones are a bit less good, but they're still good. Yakuza 2 for PS2 is the greatest game of all time.

Hitman 274.6 hours, Hitman 2 245.2 hours. These games are so cool. I like that you spend a lot of time just walking around figuring things out, before springing your master plan into action and more often than not not even being on the scene anymore when your target dies. Beautiful level designs, too. The checklist format is addictive, and I like that the main reward is to collect nice clothes.

Elden Ring 185.4 hours, Dark Souls III 153.9 hours. You create your own character and then go explore these incredible worlds and dress them up in cool clothes. I think in a lot of ways they really are like Zelda. Some of the best art in any games, all time.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain 179.8 hours. Game is blatantly unfinished, but I still had a ton of fun with it. Peace Walker is my favourite MGS because it's basically this, but finished, but this game has better controls and graphics, obviously.

Pillars of Eternity 137.5 hours. This game's pretty good in its own right, but mostly I was really thirsty for another Baldur's Gate.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 122.1 hours. I love the atmosphere of this game. Also most of that time is playing pazaak and swearing at the game.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 118.7 hours. I think this game's super underrated, because people assume it's like 13, when it really isn't. I love it. Some of the best music in any game ever. Lots of branching paths and hidden story stuff to discover, all your favourite jrpg voice actors in one game, too.

I only have Steam numbers.

My #1 on Steam is Skyrim with 280 hours of playtime, and I believe the only thing I hate in this world more than that game is myself for having endured it until it was done. I wanted to beat it just to never go back to it again lol.

#2 is Dragon's Dogma with 255 hours. I think I've beaten that game 4 or 5 times. It's an easy game but I love it, since the combat is fun while also feeling great to play. The world is nice to walk around and explore, love how the nights are pitch black and you can stumble into a big monster without even realizing. Also love the pawns and how they never stop yapping, makes it feel like you are adventuring with a fellowship.

#3 is Elden Ring with 245 hours. Only played it once including the DLC. Lovely game that I don't think I'll ever replay lol, it's way too damn massive and even if I loved it back then, in retrospect it has some glaring issues but still, amazing game.

The next ones would be RimWorld (185h), Path of Exile 2 (155h), Mass Effect LE, Dragon's Dogma 2 and Dragon Quest XI, all those with around 150h.

Skyrim is fun. Fuck the haters.

According to Altoholic my total play time in World of Warcraft is 9472 hours since the game launched in 2004
I was waiting for a post like this :]. Most of my friends who got into WoW also have insanely high numbers of hours in it.

I never got into mmos myself, too busy playing strategy games lol.

TintoConCasera TintoConCasera The STALKER games also have really dark nights, highly recommend them if you haven't checked them out already :].
Thanks for the recommendation! STALKER has been on the list for quite a long time lol, should get into those games soon.

Glad to read the nights are dark, must make for a spooky atmosphere in that game.

Skyrim is fun. Fuck the haters.

Lol, yeah I loved the music and scenery in that game but everything else... I don't know man. Game's fun but the longer I played, the less fun it was specially because of the combat.

This was supposed to be the game. Sadly i was busy with comptia sec+ certification. Positive side, i passed the test today. I might rack up more hours soon.

I look at my profile all time so I can name the top ones off the top of my head generally speaking lol:

Switch
I have 100+ hours on all the Xenoblade games, MK8 and GBA NSO if that counts.

Steam
1000+ hours on Dota 2.
SFIV, SFV and EU4 are all like 400-500+ hours.

PlayStation
Most played is Bloodborne with nearly 700 hours.

I imagine some stuff like Quake 3, StarCraft and SM64 would be up there if I could ever find the playtime of those out.

I played a ton of Q3A, UT99/2K4, Tribes/2, and DoD, but those probably pale in comparison to my /played on WoW and I mostly quit during the first expansion.

If i were to guess the top 3 would be: Starcraft 2, Heroes of the Storm and Total War Medieval 2, in this order, but i only have steam stats to go by:
Greenshot-2026-03-07-23-46-01.png

This makes me realize its pretty much games where you spend a lot of time matchmaking or waiting for other people, it sure seems to add up a lot.

Dark Souls 3 - 4863 hrs - best souls pvp ever

Yeah I used to be obsessed with Quake 3 Arena and then later Quake Live. I was never good but I just loved it. Had a flash drive in the early 2000s specifically to carry it around and play it on different computers lol. Literally the only time I cared about eSports too was to watch Quake. rapha & c00ler at IEM. Those were the days.

The nice thing about Q3 Death Match is that you don't need to be good to have fun and you'll rack up enough kills to not be frustrated. It's hard to pick of favorite of those games I listed, but I think Quake 3 is what I'd go back to in a pinch if I was wanting some instant action. I'm not sure why, but I skipped Quake Live.

Here are some of my longest count on Steam. Many games that I played countless hours of or well before the Advent of Steam, such as Diablo and Diablo II for Ultima Online.

This isn't even counting hours that went into this game before I bought it on Steam, I still have my install discs in the box of course. A lot of these hours are with my daughter playing multiplayer matches. The games just drag on to be multiple hours sometimes pretty easily and plus playing the campaign song and so on and so forth over the years. One of the best games of all time, and the soundtrack!

This one is a no-brainer and again doesn't count multiple playthroughs prior to getting it on Steam. This is a game, like the other Elder Scrolls games, then I can just go back to every so many years and pop down another 40 to 80 hours easily. I love this series and all of its iterations.

While I played this a great deal single player, many of these hours come from LAN parties in my friend's garage in which I would bring my whole tower over and we would play with his brother countless hours of Titan Quest, amazing game.

And of course this doesn't consider on track games on console, some of which I've put a great deal of hours into such a Smash Brothers Melee. No doubt well over a thousand hours or more between regular play and tournaments. On my memory card alone it's at 7 or 800 hours and that one was wiped at some point around the launch of Wind Waker.

Nice list OP, looks a lot like my steam.. My top most played:
EUIV, 980 hours
Total War Shogun 2, 320 hours
Mount and Blade Warband, 275 hours
Skyrim, 230 hours
Victoria II, 190 hours
KCD I, 186 hours
KCD 2, 170 hours
Total war Empire, 160 hours

Kinda feels like Steam have lost track of some of the older games I used to play though.

I've been playing CoH2 since 2014, great WWII RTS. I haven't played it in a while though, lately I've been focusing more on CoH3. It's not as good as its predecessor, but I'm still having fun with it

Sometimes i play a game that feels like forever, start to feel like im wasting life, then its like 200 or so hours.

Then I see people of insane hours and I wonder if theres any regret with those numbers.

Like to achieve those numbers you gotta be doing nothing else 🤷

jeez. i think there might be only a few games i've played for over 300 hours.

GTA V is about 310 hours. Baldur's Gate 3 is 147 hours. even that is rare for me. 99% of games are under the 100 hour mark.

You got Dyson Sphere and you dont got Satisfactory or Factorio....
That needs to be fixed immediately
I got them both! But Satisfactory didn't really click for me

Factorio is amazing. Still learning and restarting way more often than I should. I'm still very much in the learning phase

Every time I realize there was a much better way to set up production, I get the urge to start a fresh factory and do it 'properly' this time

Once I finally started using trains, though, it kind of changed everything. Moving large amounts of resources over long distances suddenly becomes way cleaner, and it forces you to think a bit more about structure and layout instead of just extending the spaghetti factory forever

ci40AC8OQF3ghkXS.jpg

On top of that it runs beautifully. Dyson Sphere Program starts at around 45 FPS for me right from the beginning, while Factorio just runs incredibly smooth no matter what I'm doing.

I think this might actually end up surpassing my total time played in Dyson Sphere

You should push through with Satisfactory...once it clicks, it's like crack.
I have 333h in Satisfactory and never finished it (same as you...i always want to start from scratch when i see i can do better) and 155h in Factorio (i just got to the first planet in Space Age)

Look, on my Steam it's gonna be Destiny 2 and Rocket League both at about 5k hours...

Why do I have that many hours on Destiny 2? I'm retarded. Obviously. Also quite a bit of that is AFK or macro farming to be fair.

Why do I have that many hours on Rocket League? Great game, infinite skill ceiling.

The real reason I'm posting is that according to my Steam I've played darwinia for 75 hours. The only problem is... I'm not even sure what it is and I don't recall ever playing it. Now, I can admit that I did in fact purchase the game according to my Steam receipts bundled with Multiwinia for the whopping sum of $2.99 alongside a couple of other cheap Steam Sale infinite backlog entries at the very ass end of 2009....

But I do not for one second believe I ever installed it, let alone played it.

I don't really think of it as a waste of time but then again outside of some big RPGs and then also some of my favorite games of all time that I've replayed many times, I don't really crest the 100 hour mark, honestly a lot of games probably I don't play more than 20 to 50 hours maximum, 100 hours is already pretty significant investment. Now if I love game I will play it for hundreds of hours thousands in some cases such as my all-time favorites , I'm sure I've put over a thousand hours into the first Diablo but that was also one of my first online games and I replayed it single player many many times.

Either way, the amount of games that could have crossed into four digit numbers for me is certainly on one hand and they have basically been out for decades. I do see sometimes people who have put thousands of hours into a game that's not that old and then I start to wonder how they manage it, that's a lot even if you really like something.

Team Fortress 2 - 9706 hours
Guild Wars 1 - 1919 hours
Guild Wars 2 - 452 hours
Killing Floor 2 - 270 hours
Xenoblade 3 - 220 hours
The Witcher 3 - 215 hours
Xenoblade 2 - 200 hours

These are the only ones above 200 hours.

I played tons of Ragnarok Online back in the day, but I don't have the playtime for that.

On PC it's Dota 2 at 1k hours, TF2 at 500 hours and Skyrim at 350 hours.

On PS5 top played games are Overwatch 1 at 250 hours, Baldur's Gate 3 at 250 hours.

World of Warcraft - high thousands close to 10,000 probably. Best MMORPG and was a big fan of the lore since Warcraft 3

Resident Evil Resistance - 3,000 hours + - the gameplay was really unique and love playing as the Mastermind a lot being able to spawn zombies and monsters, traps, and mess with the level for the survivors.

Morrowind - over 2,000 hours - first western rpg and also one of the greatest games of all times that got so much better with mods.

Fallout 3 - over 2,000 hours - first Fallout game and also one of the greatest games of all times that got so much better with mods

GTA V - over 2,000 hours - 100 of those hours are for the offline story mode and the rest are online.

Fallout New Vegas - over 1,000 hours - also one of the greatest games of all times that got so much better with mods.

Elder Scrolls Skyrim - over 1,000 hours - also one of the greatest games of all times that got so much better with mods.

Fallout 4 - over 1,000 hours - also one of the greatest games of all times that got so much better with mods.

Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion - over 1,000 hours - also one of the greatest games of all times that got so much better with mods.

Warcraft 3 - over a 1,000 hours

Starcraft - over a 1.000 hours

Starcraft 2 - over a 1,000 hours

How does one find out how many hours they've spent per title on Xbox or psn?

Mods truly are a massive boon for PC gaming. It cannot be overstated how much they can contribute from everything to fixing fundamental flaws that go unaddressed by the devs to making games many times more replayable.

On Steam it's Destiny 2 and Dota 2. I quit both a while ago, but I had lots of mostly fun memories with them.

I also have 500+ hours in Genshin, Wuthering Waves, Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero, but the exact hours are harder to track since I play across multiple platforms, and the hoyo games aren't on Steam but on their own PC client.

Top 5 most-played on Steam, not counting the games I know I left idling:

XCOM 2: 327 hours
XCOM Enemy Within/Enemy Unknown: 245 hours
Into the Breach: 197 hours
Elden Ring: 182 hours
Fallout: New Vegas: 154 hours

I've also put an absurd amount of hours into Mewgenics since it released. Turn-based tactics games are time melters.

I play a lot, but rarely go past the 100 hour mark (usually once or twice per year). The game either needs to have a lot of engaging content or it needs to be an enjoyable racing title and there's a shortage of them recently.

On Xbox number one would most likely be Forza Motorsport 4, I'm assuming I've gone past 400 hours easily (finished the career mode twice and kept playing after that).
On PlayStation my top played game is Project CARS 1 with over 300 hours, but Hitman would be the leader if we counted the recent trilogy as a single product (plus I played Hitman 2016 twice, each time to get trophy completion).

Back in the old days I'm pretty sure I've spent hundreds of hours on UFO, Civilization and Frontier - all three incredibly time consuming games that don't become boring.

Genshin Impact PS5: 1904h. (I played the PS4 version a lot as well).
Call of Duty app (probably includes MW2, MW3, BO6 and other shite): 1797h.
Honkai Star Rail: 1361h.
How does one find out how many hours they've spent per title on Xbox or psn?
On PS5 you can see it at the bottom right, with a clock icon. There's another way in the profile somewhere but I am too lazy to check that way.

I do not trust that system level clock at all, lol. It's been wrong by as much as 10~ hours every now and then:
