There is a mod for path tracing on re framework.
Its quite buggy though, it works well in some areas but there are bugs that can affect even cutscenes. The implementation is mostly experimental

Yeah, this was a wild boss fight. I had no ammo left by the end (though I didn't pick up much ammo in the room). He was fast as hell. It was all I could do to just stay in front of him and get like one bullet off every half rotation. The pure relief I felt when he started to melt...The Chunk fight with Leon on insanity is...insanity. I wonder if you can brick yourself if you bought the wrong stuff beforehand.
Wait, is enemy movement/aggression different or faster in insanity?Yeah, this was a wild boss fight. I had no ammo left by the end (though I didn't pick up much ammo in the room). I'm on a 5080 too and I'm running it at 100 or so fps, 1440p with everything maxed out! No frame generationI'm in early Raccoon city in the second half of the game. The performance has fallen off a cliff, had to drop the resolution and enable frame gen to hold a steady framerate, and thats on a 5080.
The combat here feels significantly worse than RE4R did. Each shot in that game felt like it had an impact, but the bullet sponginess of the enemies in this section makes everything you do feel less consequential, and makes the game feel less interactive as a result.
While PT is a huge plus, and often looks incredible, this game is probably more fun on PS5 with gyro aim than my experience using the dualsense on PC.
I appreciate that reference. I was doing Max Settings 4K DLSS performance up until Racoon City and it felt fine, but this wasn't enough in that section, and I needed to drop to 1440 and enable frame gen for it to feel stable.I'm on a 5080 too and I'm running it at 100 or so fps, 1440p with everything maxed out! But yeah, I'm loving everything about this game

What you mean? Mine works just fine. Without the duelsense features sadly. Im on wired connectionThe shit you need to go through on PC to get DualSense working at least comparable to PS5 is insane. Why can't they just add native DualSense support like in their other games? None of the Remakes has it for some stupid reason. C'mon, CAPCOM! WTF?
That's the problem right here. It works with Steam input, but that's it and it's dead in your heands meaning no rumble, haptics etc. and for all of this to work and even more you need 3 mods, 2 drivers, buy DSX with DLC on Steam and tune dead zones for triggers to work properly. What you mean? I have rumble but just normal one, but yeah. Dunno why its not supported by the gameThat's the problem right here. Yes.can she talk normally without shitting her pants for one single scene?![]()
Noice.Yes.
You will get exactly one.
After you beat the game
Technically you can play this one and be fine as the stories are largely self contained while making nods or references to other games and this one flat out shows you supporting scenes from a different game. But playing Resident Evil 2 Remake first would be ideal as that's the game that most ties into this one.Ok. So all the positive reviews have me interested in the game. But I've only ever played one resident evil game prior to this (RE5). Are there any prior story elements I need to know to enjoy this? Is there any game I need to play before this one to understand what's going on with the story and characters?

I played 5, the one with the outbreak in Africa. I knew the general lore about outbreak in Racoon City and Umbrella Corp, not sure how I know, probably a combination of having seen the 1st movie, and also probably just from osmosis from being in the gaming culture all these years.Which one did you play? You should know who Leon is and what his background is lore wise. And understanding the lore behind Umbrella Corps.
So play RE2 Remake in the least before this. Otherwise you won't really understand some of the names of people and things that are happening.
So 2 is the only one I really need before playing this game?
Yes. Everyone is significantly faster. Normal zombies are almost as fast as Grace (there were a few instances I actually couldn't outrun them; you can't outpace their scrambles and they tend to spam those), and Chunk was practically sprinting at Leon for me. Especially towards the end when he went berserk.Wait, is enemy movement/aggression different or faster in insanity?

Yeah 2 Remake seems to be where you should be before playing Requiem imo. It feels more definitive over the OG version of RE2.
RE0 - A prequel that explains the initial viral outbreak but is largely considered skippable for the main plot.
RE1 - Introduces the Spencer Mansion and the S.T.A.R.S. team but is summarized through in-game lore files in later titles. You could start here, but none of these characters seem to be in RE9's story. You also understand the origin Umbrella Corps.
RE3 - Focuses on Jill Valentine's narrow escape from Raccoon City during the same timeframe as the second game. You could play this if you want, but can skip it.
RE Code Veronica - A side story following Claire Redfield that is often left out of modern recaps.
RE4 - Leon's mission to Spain is a self-contained story.
RE5 - You already played
RE6 - Many people suggest skipping due to its heavy lore and complex plot.
RE7 - Features Ethan Winters which is mostly disconnected from the Raccoon City stuff.
RE8 - Ethan's final chapter, which provides its own recap of the previous game.
Others can chime in and add/correct anything I may have said.
Yes, all of the Resident Evil games I've Dynamic difficulty after the original Resident Evil 4.I called the game "near-perfect" earlier.. but after experiencing so many inconsistencies I suspect the game has dynamic difficulty, something i hate more than the plague. It's like the game is desperately trying to make me roll my eyes.
Best way to start out is selling your Pistol and starting with the Police Shotgun. And you would want to buy a Sniper Rifle with a scope. Otherwise yeah everything hits hard or can potentially 1-2 hit you, loads of HP and moves 2-3 times as fast.I give insanity difficulty a try and holy fuck this shit is hard, I cant imagine try to beat it without infinite ammo.......I'm sure they are crazy high skill players who can without infinite ammo.
But god damn I love this game, I cant for its expansion.
I'm glad you like it. Have you finished it? If so, what did you think of Raccoon City onward?this is actually the Resident Evil game I wanted , the perfect mix of Re2 and Re4 and the fact that the zombies are back, this feels like a true Resident evil game! my Goty for sure and one of my favorite Resident evil game, up there with Re remake, Re2 remake and Re4 remake.
same. for me, requiem is the metal gear solid 4 of the resident evil series. it's a sentimental journey & love letter rolled into one...I give insanity difficulty a try and holy fuck this shit is hard, I cant imagine try to beat it without infinite ammo.......I'm sure they are crazy high skill players who can without infinite ammo.

That's the part that surprised me, thinking I'm keeping good distance from them but suddenly just come out you very fast and grab you aaaaaand I'm dead.Best way to start out is selling your Pistol and starting with the Police Shotgun. And you would want to buy a Sniper Rifle with a scope. Otherwise yeah everything hits hard or can potentially 1-2 hit you, loads of HP and moves 2-3 times as fast.
You have the old too easy and too hard modes with no in between. Love to see it.
not finished yet! I just arrived at the RPD, I loved the whole Racoon city areaI'm glad you like it. Have you finished it? If so, what did you think of Raccoon City onward?
Excellent! I think this alone would make the game an 8 or 9 for me. I gave it a 6 on first playthrough. Never played the RE games for a rich or thought provoking story, so if the gameplay makes me think hard or sweat and spend hours to get it right, I'm good. I was just hesitant to touch insanity because of several negative reactions. May be that's where I'll find my sweet spot after all. Might jump back in after playing something else to cleanse my palate.Yes. Everyone is significantly faster. Resident Evil Requiem Features A Dynamic Difficulty System; Here's How It Works
Capcom's latest survival horror game, Resident Evil Requiem, features a dynamic difficulty system. Here's how it works.twistedvoxel.com
Basically, everyone does significantly more damage (almost one shots), and they're all faster, and stagger way more rarely.
Chunk actually being a difficult boss fight was a welcome change to Leon one shotting everyone in normal classic difficulty (he still wasn't that bad, took me three tries; but it was tense).
No adaptive on max difficulty - it's just permanently tuned to highest level.I've beat it on Standard (Modern). What I'm hearing about Insanity makes me think it encourages running away or not directly engaging in combat as often. And maybe purposefully playing like crap to have the adaptive difficulty take mercy.
Tbf insanity is only difficulty till you get the x30 bullets per scrap, i m siting on 90 bullets righnow.I've beat it on Standard (Modern). And maybe purposefully playing like crap to have the adaptive difficulty take mercy.
You can do it! The worst part of insanity is the intro with Leon. After that, it's definitely doable (at least up to the end of Grace's section which is where I am; Raccoon might change my mind).I give insanity difficulty a try and holy fuck this shit is hard, I cant imagine try to beat it without infinite ammo.......I'm sure they are crazy high skill players who can without infinite ammo.

For me the part I'm struggling the most is trying to get Grace's pistole. You can do it! The worst part of insanity is the intro with Leon. After that, it's definitely doable (at least up to the end of Grace's section which is where I am; Raccoon might change my mind).
Her first pistol ( dinner room ) is in another place, her own pistol is in the same place but ll be harder to get it.For me the part I'm struggling the most is trying to get Grace's pistole.
There are lot of zombies around you have no resources to fight all of them and one grab from them and you are dead.

You can actually crouch walk by the zombies to get her gun. The zombie right in front of the bar will wake up as you sneak past but it didn't aggro me.her own pistol is in the same place but ll be harder to get it.
Is this for real, PC-GAF? Pretty significant boost to PT performance after the first patch in gameplay, if true.
