[Bloomberg] Sony Pulls Back From PlayStation Games on PC (Ghost of Yotei port and other internally developerd games scrapped)

A forum that some man babies started on their own that couldn't follow simple rules here and got banned so now they have a place to beat each other off to PS news
Bryank was right though. He shouldve never been banned for having meltdowns about this retarded strategy that Sony themselves have now admitted failed and is now reversing. I wish he was here so he could take a lap of honor. Time has proven him right. He was relentlessly mocked and then banned over something that was so obviously retarded everyone shouldve seen coming.

The rest of that forum is full of morons yes. they drove me mad. I had them all on ignore. Sucks that Bryank has to slum it up with them.

Ha... Now the more important question is, why do you know this?

He actually truly loves PS, most of the others are pure trash warriors

Cant believe Sony is willing to give up the $4 billion they've made from PC first party sales. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

What a load of bullshit that was.

Their games consistently fail to hit decent peak numbers on steam. They themselves said that despite selling almost a million copies for Days Gone and GOW, the revenue was a pitiful $22 and 28 million. Most of their games topped out under 10k concurrent users which is awful by steam standards. Their best was Ghost of Tsushima at 70k which itself is trash compared to other big games like RE9 and Starfield which did around 300k. We are not even comparing hits like Wukong, Baldurs Gate, Hogwarts and Elden Rings that all did million to 2 million concurrent.

What it did do was halt PS5 sales which is now trailing behind PS4 for the first time this generation. You see Capcom boast about how RE is now a PC game. Same thing happened with hogwarts and Elden Rings. Sony's playstation is now number 2. All because these retards at Sony and MS gave people like an option to buy games on PC. It just didnt make sense to continue investing in their eco system so instead i invested those dollars on PC making Gabe and Jenson billions of dollars that otherwise wouldve gone into Sonys eco system like they did the past 4 generations.
You can't have it both ways.
If the sales on PC are abysmal and a bunch of people switched from PS5 to PC - then that means they didn't actually buy the Sony games after switching to PC - ergo the Sony games being on PC wasn't the reason they switched.

Xbox sales have cratered and yet the overall console base is shrinking as more young people go to PC.

I'm not sure that this is actually true.

Sony's performance has been pretty consistent, as has Nintendo's. I think the market is static as opposed to contracting.
You can see this if you ask your AI assistant of choice to show average hardware units sold per year.

As to PC gaming's growth, its harder to gauge due to the fact that these days most everyone has a PC capable of playing some sort of game.
But that isn't to say every one who plays games on PC is a PC gamer in the same sense that a "console gamer" is a consumer of console-style games.
If you look at the biggest and most popular titles, many don't really require a modern gaming PC to enjoy.

Like i said, the people who switched are the ones who buy games on a consistent basis. They buy subscriptions to play online. They dont just buy ps exclusives, they buy other third party games and invest in that eco system. Sony knew how important those guys are to their eco system, they revealed the numbers themselves.

It's not just about first party sales, it's about the eco system revenue.

P.S The pro sales percentage is 13% since its launch. The PS4 pro made up 20% of all PS4s sold after its launch. 7% may not seem like much, but in a business of margins, thats a lot. Those 7% of consumers went to PC.

Sony Group Corp. no longer plans to release its big PlayStation 5 games on PC...

immediate question: what games? even the author of the article can only mention 2, ghost of yotei & saros, one of which hasn't even released. until we're actually talking about an actual group of 'big' games, this's just nonsense...

Sony thought that the fifa and cod guys will carry them and left us out to dry. Well fuck you, good job losing $1000 on average on the people who made you successful you fucking greedy cunts. now you come back crying to us? go fuck yourselves.
So... are you saying you are not buying a PS6?

People need to understand how beautiful this is.

Here we have this new Xbox CEO, with the help of retard Jez, trying to sell the idea of a renovated interest and a push for consoles and exclusives... Sony pulls back from PC, reinvigorates the green rats' dreams and hopes. (It's possible, Sony just did it. Please, Asha, make it happen!! 🙏🙏) ... But she can't do shit... This is worse than ghosting. She keeps giving you hope, but still keeps sleeping with your worst enemy.... And they will keep simping for her 🤦... 😂🤣.... Jeezz what pathetic sight to behold.

I have bought a total of zero multiplatform games on the PS5 this gen. The only third party games ive bought on the ps5 were exclusives like FF16 and FF7 rebirth because i wanted to play them on day one. Epic, EA origin, Uplay, Steam, CD keys, GMG have all gotten well over a $1,000 on games ive spent this gen. Nvidia has gotten $2,000 on gpus alone.

I remember Sony's own surveys stating that early adopters like me and hardcore gamers in general spend an average of $1,700 lifetime on the eco system. Casuals and late adopters spend $700. Sony thought that the fifa and cod guys will carry them and left us out to dry. Well fuck you, good job losing $1000 on average on the people who made you successful you fucking greedy cunts. now you come back crying to us? go fuck yourselves.
I don't think they're really giving up that "$4 billion" (it's actually $2.3 billion i believe) because the majority of those sales came from Helldivers 2, which is a multiplayer game. They're going to continue putting multiplayer games and gaas games onto PC day 1.

This never gets tossed Nintendo's way on here. I wonder why it's only an issue when Sony does or doesn't do something?
People seem very happy calling Nintendo out on their anti-consumer behavior day in and day out. But Nintendo never opened this particular door in the first place, right?

As a PC gamer it does sting having this initiative walked back, although it's hardly meltdown-worthy one way or the other.

They never put their games on PC in the first place

But it also helps I'd rather chop my bollocks off than play a Nintendo game
Listen. People were harping on Sony doing it long before they did. They never throw the same fervor towards Nintendo, ever. They even make excuses that it would hurt Nintendo, ironic.

Once again, it's only when Sony does or doesn't do something, "anti-consumer" gets tossed around.

Maybe you're ignoring the fact that the rest all got ported to PC due to the initiative that the article is referring to? But also, Demon's Souls, Gran Turismo 7 and Astro Bot!

That shit lasts a half a page, never do you see 17 page threads on that shit.

I don't care about what other people might have said. I made my comment because it negatively affects consumer's who bought and enjoyed Sony games on PC.

You have a habit of defending Sony at every opportunity, what about Nintendo? They never got people hooked on another platform and pulled the rug like Sony apparently will

Quote all the peeps in here saying "no loss."

They're part of the perception problem, yes?

Next they need to kill the artificial 2-day delay to non-early-access purchasers.

It just encourages me to delay my purchase even longer for an even cheaper, patched and improved version of the game.

i hate that kind of entitlement. im sorry, but im investing $500 on your console on the promise of games to come in the next 7 years. Why should some dude on PC get dibs on those games without that $500 entry fee? not to mention at a $20-30 discount?

Sony uses my $500 to invest in their first party games. And Honestly, i fucking hate that my money went into buying nixxes and forcing ND to port TLOU1 to PC instead of getting everyone on board Intergallctic asap. Bluepoint was forced to work as a support team on ragnorak while they had nixxes available. Thats two years wasted of a really talented studio in a support role. Especially when they had a support studio porting GOW 2018 and Rangorak to PC during this time.

lastly, and this isnt all on PC, and might be a stretch but Sucker Punch wasnt given a budget increase despite selling 10 million copies of Ghosts 1. You could see it in the final product. We bought the Sony console because unlike Ubisoft, EA and Activision, they produce bar setting, industry leading single player experiences, and for sony to leave the budget at a meager $60 million while investing heavily on PC and GaaS studios is frankly a betrayal to the PS consumer.

Live reaction of PC players:

oh-no.gif
Yeah outside of a few crazies this seems to be the consensus. Not enough of a dramatic win for the PS fans, hence dragging Nintendo into the conversation and saying poor Sony is being treated unfairly, as if that has anything to do with anything.

They don't speak for everyone dude. I never bought a Sony game on PC, I didn't have to to know that it's obvious that they sold millions of copies to a new audience, made new fans on a different platform and if they pull the rug that's anti consumer.

How are important are PS exclusives really right now?

3rd party publishers will publish every single game on PC, so PC owners will only miss out on Sony published single player games. That's 2 or 3 games a year. That's at most 12 games till PS6 is released. Is that enough to entice a PC owner to buy a PS5 console considering the absolutely ridiculous number of games that are released for PC?

Its more about stopping people jump ship

Microsoft hasn`t had a system-seller in 13+ years and started their multiplatform strategy long after they`d already stopped reporting sales.
It´s a myth that the PC and Console crowd has more than a small overlap.

Idk most pc players i know started their gaming carrier on console or played exclusively on consoles for a bit.

So there has to be some kind of connection beetween those.

I'm not going to speak as a consumer; I'm going to speak as if I owned 99.9% of Sony:

I never understood the move to strip the added value of your console for meager sales, not only on PC but also when your games get pirated.

The moment you force consumers to buy a PlayStation, you not only have them buying games (royalties) but also a ton of services and peripherals, which is what really makes money.

I can understand releasing multiplayer games since these days everything is about picking your pockets, and it's better to pick as many pockets as possible.

But single-player games?

It's ABSURD.

Meh, their best game in years was Helldivers 2 and is already on PC and Xbox.
Everything else is shit and there hasn't been a reason for a while to own a PlayStation... they haven't released or have any upcoming games that are a "must have" system seller

This is the right business decision.

Feeding other companies/stores with royalties every single time you sell a game is dumb if your company has its own store/hardware.

I played it... and I will call out woke shit all the time. I barely saw anything in there that would be considered "woke" and it certainly wasn't at the forefront, nor was it driving the story.
So perhaps I should check it out. Spider-Man 2 on the other hand I'm passing, after the almost unbearable Miles Morales (almost because I finished it).

So... are you saying you are not buying a PS6?
im a masochist when it comes to sony. i even bought the pro after returning it because i wanted to play DS2, Ghosts 2 and GTA6 at the highest level of fidelity. I will probably trade in the Pro when the PS6 comes out to play the 2 exclusives a year on the PS6, but I am still not going to invest in their eco system beyond that. No PS+, no third party games. Im done. Ive been done since 2020.
