Marathon Sever Slam rated 3.06/5 (11k+ ratings) in PSN store, lower than Concord

Concord was 3.5/5, according to old tweaktown article.

Oh, more 5 stars reviews than 1 stars. Well, that's a win i guess. LOL

I don't pretend to like every Sony games like you green rats do.
I haven't touched my series x in close to a year

Check the year wrap Nintendo threads…I share my playtime there. Most people call me Nintendo fanboy cuz of that

Series x was my gamepass machine but gamepass isn't worth it anymore so I don't play it much

Willing to make it interesting and wager a ban on how old my various gaming accounts and associated playtime are?

My bet being my Xbox account was created with series x and Nintendo and Steam account are ancient, and playtime on each reflect that

I'd be willing to make the stakes permanent ban if you'd like

EviLore EviLore is this something you'd be willing to enforce? 😁 all this stuff is really easy to prove.

it's hilarious that the company Sony purchased to champion their GAAS games and give feedback, advice and all sorts to all its other studios are potentially releasing a massive flop, you really couldn't make this up.

I have no horse on this race... and in fact I probably only saw the latest Marathon trailer on State of the Play and gives zero fucks about online gaming... but that being said, given some reactions here, and this classification distribution, it almost looks like a 'naturally combined effort' to make this game fail.

Not willing, meet in person and settle it with fists

God of War Sons of Sparta has a high over 4 star review average. GAF told me that's bull shit.

Marathon has barely over 3 stars. GAF tells me it's the truth, don't try to argue.

For the record the amount of games over 4 stars on PSN that are dog shit everywhere else is absurd lol. I don't put any faith in any score on there.

Look up the playtime of negative highguard reviews. Some are as low as 10 minutes, which means they never left the tutorial.

I'm not saying the poster you've quoted is right, I'm just saying you underestimate the lengths some would go to review

That is just some petty bs then. It's all a lame echo chamber of butt hurt babies then?

I'm. It going to play the game but I'll buy two fucking copies of it then if that's the case.

Lmaoooooo. Exactly what I was thinking about.

After the negative attention that one tweet got, how can you not question the authenticity of any of this? Lol. It's the worst thing about social bombings of any form. They basically dismiss all the honest and true feedback as all the nonsense is louder and more prominent.

Hey Naughty Dog, let us here at Bungie show you how multiplayer video games are done. What's the vibe like at Sony of America this year? Staring down two ultra bombas, with no real chance of course correction. Wolverine has a lot on his shoulders.

This is why I brought up in the Sons of Sparta thread that we need better parameters for user reviews in gaming (the inverse happened there where people played 30 minutes and gave it 5/5 stars)

Just a download or purchase of said product isn't enough, because that's how these 1/10 vs 10/10 score battles keep happening.

Legitimate casual buyers who aren't fighting culture wars just want to know if they are buying a decent product, just like anyone here would feel the same with something like amazon reviews.

Numerical rating systems for user reviews just don't work well. 1 star and 5 stars basically are recommend and not recommend in Steam's binary rating system. Most people won't be bothering with the middle ground.

Also, my man attributing critics to "culture warriors" is just disingenuous. Make a great game like Baldur's Gate 3 and and you can be as much woke as you want, without backlash at all.

*Enters thread to read about Marathon reception on PSN*
*Leaves thread having read about the formation of a new Kumite or Fight Club*

41% giving it a 5 star and 38% giving it a 1% is insane. That only leaves 21% in between. Why is it so polarising?

The ones fighting 1s vs 10s in the first hour of release with no substance to their reviews are literally fighting a culture war.

I hate that I have to clarify this specific point every single time because some feel like they're being called out on the blatantly obvious.

I don't really think that the 1-hour ratings matter, they are minor in the end when time goes and more reviews with meaningful playtime come in. Give it a week or so, the review distribution will be converging to a more or less natural state.

PSN store definitely has miles to go in their systems, as in Steam you have a much refined filter can help you get the exact you info you seek for (playtime, region, etc.)

Agreed. And Games as a Service/Mutiplayer bigotry. And people who want more Destiny from Bungie. And, you know what.... also people upset about Phil Spencer leaving Xbox and in their misguided anger, taking it out on Sony.

I just know a reviewbomb when I see one.

This game is greatness once you get past the UI and give it atleast a couple of hours to click. Especially when you play it on Steam. 2 hours is the minium to fully understand how good this game is.

Imagine typing all that and not having a nuclear meltdown! Amazing!

Baldur's Gate 3 is boring, I get to the part where Billy Ray Cyrus comes out of the portal and I am like this is just dumb shit.

Even more hilarious is they gave advice on Naughty Dog's TLoU online game, which may have caused it to get cancelled, when it probably would've done better than Marathon.

If there were that many Bluepoint fans the studio wouldn't have been shuttered.

That isn't a slight on Bluepoint...I just don't believe that many people are downloading a game, loading it up, bailing on it, then rating it a 1*.
Bro.. just take the joke

Really low for Playstation Store standarts. Most of the games from there get 5 or 4 stars, even the bad ones.
Yup, the thing with PS Store is that most people leave five star (default) scores and also many of them just don't bother since the feature is hidden pretty deep in the UI. There has to be a clear problem or a reason for people to start mass giving 1 star.
