I find it so weird people just buying shit in advance like why not at least wait for the server slam

But thats me with all games, I dont preorder jack shit
I haven't preordered it yet (I say yet because I can almost guarantee you I will and probably on both PlayStation and Steam) but a lot of us me included have already played it prior to the server slam and know we like it.

I played between 5-10 hours of it during a play test and loved it.

It's a mysterious Ghost in the Shell esque extraction shooter that feels amazing because it's Bungie. I'm in.

Yea I'm already loving the look of it\atmosphere over Arc. I liked a lot of things about Arc but all my complaints were things I felt Bungie were addressing. From the streams I'm watching so far I'm right.

Exact same vibe I'm getting!

Some people are genuinely excited after playing the previous tests, or they were huge Marathon / Bungie fans. I feel that way when it's a brand new IP that hasn't shown a ton of footage and feels like a big ol risk, haha. But if people want to do that, I hope it all works out for them.

Yes it does. If you like it or not.

I mean, the only Destiny feel there will be the gunplay, because Bungie. But Bungie has had the same gunplay for a long while, so this shouldn't surprise anyone TBH.

Honestly the Ghost in the Shell and Neo Tokyo vibes is what really got me.

Failed my first run... so much to this world so much stuff to interact with tons of loot i kept wasting time trying to find a key card to open a container in an initial building. Not sure if i'm feeling it so far... def does not feel like destiny. Will continue to try try again. Maybe extraction shooters arent for me? Dont like being rushed on a timer.

Things feeling "complicated" or a games full breath feeling unknown to you is something to cherish and get lost in because it's what can make a game feel BIG. When you get all your discovery-ing done and know what goes where & what does what, the experience has hit its boundaries and the scope of everything can be taken in and actualized, maybe shrink even, so its nice to see its got that going for it

That said, gun charms have become a telltale sign of "we[Devloper] dont know what the fuck is meaningful to FPS anymore".

Hope this game does something for somebody out there.

Playing. Some elements a very nice homage to mid-late 2000 era graphic design. The high level shit. Maybe earlier? It's nice.

Clash of visual elements and environment, shadows is tough.

90s too. Wipeout. Designers Republic. Good shit.

That famous quote about gamers loving to optimize the fun out of games. I've really enjoyed getting into the extraction genre myself because it actively resists player attempts at full control and understanding, and there's ultimately no "solving" it. Shit will happen no matter how good you are. It's a kind of thrill that reminds me of how I used to feel playing games as a kid.

Feels a lot more polished than previous builds.

My main issue has been how slow and stiff movement feels, especially for a game named Marathon, but it looks like upgrades will help with that. I'd love to be able to feel a maxed out character.

I also absolutely can't stand inventory management in games. It turned me off to playing ARC Raiders more than I would have liked to. Hopefully it's not as bad here.

Curious to see how the solo experience is. The game seems to be encouraging playing as a trio.

Gonna try to give it a solid chance over the next few days and see how it goes. I do love the game's aesthetic.

Won't be as bad once you get used to it and get a sense of what the items and mods are good for. Arc is about hording a morbillion different items and crafting shit. Marathon has no crafting and more of a "use it or lose it" mentality. I'm looking forward to playing an extraction shooter with my friends without needing to take 10-15 minutes to craft between rounds.

The graphic design here might absolutely scare the shit out of plebs, can totally see that happen. Personally love it, very nostalgic, composition issues in UI, this shit demands space. Not tenable because video game. So understandable.

Deep disdain for this style mixed with these realistic ground textures and shit, mildly horrific.

Weeb movie font use in some screens is ok, little cheesy. But it's cool, whatever.

The nostalgia is very heartfelt and real, emotional, I miss those days too, dude. There's a melancholy here I wasn't prepared for, will play on another day.

You're right. The crafting ultimately caused an uncertainty of which items needed to be kept and lead to hoarding, leaving me with a constantly full inventory.

I'm sure I would've eventually learned and got used to things but ultimately didn't care to.

Hopefully things are better here.

No issues to access the last onen play test for Batofield 6 and arc riders......Marathon on the other hand........

I thought the GaaS experts were ready to handle the load...

It's funny my biggest feedback when I played months ago in the Discord was the UI.

The number one complaint I see right now online? The UI.

Not sure why they didn't address this at all.

So, completed the tutorial then had my first match in the beginner zone. We lasted 2 minutes before we were eliminated. We were distracted by some bots before the opposing team came from behind and wiped us out. Sheesh.

Man only caught like 2 mins of DrDisrespect's stream and he's already yappin' like he's experienced the entire game, writing it off against even stuff like Tarkov lol. As somehow Marathon does not feel "VSM" enough but at the same time lacks the slow methodical approach of Tarkov (????).

Anyway this is is my main issue with modern gaming (and its streamers)... people are seemingly no longer willing to let things cook (imagine if you don't like SOME parts of it but still enjoying it and letting the devs improve?) or to LEARN a game for a bit.

It's all instant gratification and if you're not constantly getting a dopamine feed it's an immediate write off apparently (against other games which have been around for ages). Absolutely brain dead take. I mean I never held the Doc in high regard in that aspect, he's a funny entertainer, but otherwise his takes on gaming in general is pretty stupid. The fact that he was even a level designer for CoD is kind of funny lol.

People complaining about the UI wouldn't last a second in Hunt Showdown.

Not saying to excuse Marathon here but for me it's quite easy to grasp so I'm not sure what the complaints are specifically aimed at - and that's coming from someone who is fairly retarded.

For me it was the tiny ass symbols on items and tons of tiny text when looting. It's not quick and easy to digest - Arc has this right IMO. I can identify what type of an item is and if it's good or bad easily.

I pointed to that specifically in my feedback and other play testers agreed and echoed it with their own experiences.

This should've been changed but I'm wondering where their focus was other than visual glow up?

It's not for me, I'll say that much. I also felt dyslexic staring at the menus. I won't be buying it.

Man no kidding, lmao. I LOVE everything about Hunt, BUT the UI. It just all looks and feels so weird to me. I was hoping Hunger is able to pull that same kind of universe off with better UI.

Some of the gunplay feels like Destiny and Halo Reach. But if you think Destiny is only the gunplay, then I don't know how much Destiny you've played. Movement feels nothing like Destiny, how you approach an encounter feels nothing like Destiny PvP or PvP. How you interact with the environment is not really like Destiny.

It's an easy and lazy comparison to make, but it's not accurate.

I just watched an hour or so and ngl I think this looks terrible, the menus alone make me want to murder something or someone, the minute to minute to minute gameplay looks so boring.

I'll still try it but man what a snooze fest
