Lirik is the worst people the get impressions from lol. Just try the game

Disagree, he has a pretty good grasp on these types of games. He has played most extraction shooters on and off, plus he has a history of playing games that helped laid the foundation like Arma BR and Day-Z. Also, he's not the one to do any fake positive/negative shtick.

I'm not touching Bungie games personally (except for Myth I and II).

Link your twitch for the drops here:

To earn the Marathon Twitch Drops, you need to link your Bungie and Twitch accounts. You need to:

  1. Create a Bungie account if you don't already have one, and link it to your Twitch account by navigating to 'settings' then 'account linking' on Bungie.net.
  2. Watch any Drops-enabled stream for the required amount of time.
  3. Once you've fulfilled a Drops requirement, claim your rewards from your Twitch inventory.
You'll need to watch at least one hour of any participating streamers to claim your items from your inventory on Twitch. You'll also see a 'Drops Enabled' tag and often a notification at the top of the chat on an applicable stream, though chances are any of the big streamers will have them running.

I recommend claiming any rewards you've earned right away, as sometimes they disappear after 24 hours.

If I get shot with this gun will my hair turn blue and have to pee sitting down? Please confirm.

Also, have fun with your 80's dayglo neon guns/outfits. Getting shot from 300 yards away because you glow in the dark will make it easy for the snipers to pick you off. Perfect design aesthetic for an Extraction shooter.

Game feels weird as fuck. Way too many systems. Feels like it has a deep learning curve. Don't like how movement feels but gunplay seems solid.

Graphics are also muddy/blurry. I have everything max, DLAA. Something just looks off.

Menus and systems are overwhelming at first we warned you guys about this. Its a new game with a lot of depths. Need a few hours before it becomes much easier to handle

Do you people actually jump into complex multiplayer games with deep systems and freak out when you don't understand 100% of the game at once after 15 minutes?? Genuine question.

First impressions:
- the cinematics in this game are a MESS. Style over substance mixed with zoomer editing.
- gunplay is standard Bungie fare, which is a good thing. Feels nice getting back into it after so many years away from Destiny
- Like ARC Raiders, I'm having a hard time getting into the extraction gameplay loop. It's just boring to me.

I'll do a few more runs over the weekend when my friends install it but I'm probably going to skip the full game. That said, if ARC Raiders managed to be successful, I don't see any reason why this game won't be successful as well.

ill be honest, im actually really enjoying the artstyle after thinking it was stupid.

My first issue as a noob, theres just so many different loot with different names and i dont have time to read in game. whats best way to figure out what loot i want?

Also anyone know how to do the first objective? i have to scan a tower, i was at a tower but couldnt do anything?

They put quest mark objectives in the game. Just head to that.

My advice to anyone is dont play solo until you know whats what.

Interesting that some are liking the artstyle, i hate it. It looks like everything is made out of Lego, or one of those fancy texture mods for Minecraft.

Use something like https://marathonmeta.gg/ to read up on the different loots, etc. Do that outside of combat when you're not playing to familiarize yourself with it all. That's the fastest way. Best way is to just play and read the description of things you extract with.

Which part?

well, one big issue I found is that these idiots apply the right stick deadzone to the menu navigation as well πŸ˜’

I once again have to notice that the developers aren't even playing the genre of game they are developing. anyone who is actually playing competitive shooters on a controller knows you get the deadzone to the point where you eeeeever so sliiiiightly drift in-game for best input response and to keep the AA active at all times. ESPECIALLY if you use a more exponential reaction curve you basically want a 0 deadzone.

yet if you do that here, some menus will become unusable as they close when detecting a right stick input, and menus will scroll around while trying to navigate them.

so noone who is good at modern shooters on a controller worked on this game and gave feedback to whoever coded the menus

another piece of evidence that noone who is good at competitive shooters worked on this is the fact that they have aim acceleration (aka ramp up time) that can not be turned off. although it gets less intrusive at higher sensitivities to be fair, and isn't nearly as egregious as it was in Destiny 2

I played 4 matches. Great combat and cool graphics. I still hate the characters art style but the gameplay feels awesome (I loved Destiny multiplayer, so I was kinda expecting this).

I had some good first impressions so far. The systems didn't seem complicated and liked the menus.

I had zero expectations, but now...

I'm curious myself. From what I've seen and gathered, people just don't like the look of it. Which goes into the whole look and aesthetic thing. I totally get it if people don't like it.

I'm still an extraction shooter noob all things considered, and all the menus always look daunting to me no matter what because of the whole looting and individual item thing, lol.

Nobody who has ever played Tarkov would dare calling Marathon overly complicated lmfao

Yeah no kidding, the more individual items, the more complicated and ridiculous it all is. From what I'm seeing with Marathon, it's not nearly as complicated. You just gotta get in the swing of things and learn what's what. Which is standard with any game, especially extraction shooters.

Yeah, I don't understand how the average retard out there can memorize dozens/hundreds of heros and their abilities in League or OW or Rivals but somehow gets upset when they don't have Marathon's entire loot table memorized after two rounds :messenger_tears_of_joy:

(it's because they're acting in bad faith)

Definitely not a game for people who lack patience. There's a lot of learning in the first 5 - 10 hours.
Saw someone that seems like a younger guy complaining on X that he died almost at the beginning of the match and now he had to wait for his team to either revive him or get killed. This man wouldn't last long on counter-strike either. Lol

Meanwhile I've been on the bungie support forums for almost two hours because I can't launch the game. Amazing start. :messenger_grinning_squinting:

The amount of content and effort that's gone into this has surprised me, just doing a faction quest and picking up the reward was insanely cool. Unfortunately was only able to have one game due to errors lol.
Items and things seem complicated but every new game like this always is
