The ones that doesn't have their own opinion. They praise whatever is popular and hate whatever is not well received without even trying.

In my view... these guys.

The fart-sniffing pretentious indie lover that thinks their roguelite-deckbuilding-walkingsim-turnased-cozyslop game aping the old pixel style while doing it worse or that same low poly shaded-esque style that's been driven into the ground is the savior of gaming that doesn't need to be saved.

Also the git guds who really don't want people to be good at all. They just want gatekeeping to shut others out.

People who think GaaS is some dying fad that with enough failures will be stomped out of existence while ignoring the masses that love them.

The miserable cunts who have long since lost the ability to find joy in damn near anything that they spend all their time on forums tearing everything down trying to feel...something.

Bloodborne fans. Yes, the game is good. No, not that good. Stop it. You're unwell.

The Game Awards gamer. Craves validation from Dorito-Pope voters. Watches that shit for like 5 hours straight and flies into a rage if there isn't a trailer for some game they heard a rumor about or outright imagined.

Probably the "all modern games suck" ones.
Specially because I'm pretty sure a majority of them would dislike almost all the older games that they look back to with rose tinted glasses if they were released today.

The "I only play AAA games" Gamer isn't on the list, but that's the one that annoys me.

oh, actually The Framerate Gamer sucks too. I used to buy PC games that I could barely run and I enjoyed it. These people are like HMM DID I NOTICE A 1 FPS DROP ON MY GIANT 4K MONITOR ON ULTRA SETTINGS FOR A MILISECOND THERE?? ABSOLUTELY UNPLAYABLE.

It's impossible to talk sense to a console warrior (true), no matter what the subject. If that particular plastic box is in question, rationality goes out the window and you might as well just stop talking and save yourself the grief.

I also checked the box for the "every game is political" option. Some people act like they never just had fun playing a game before without identity politics shitting it up. I guess Gen Z and younger people that never went to an arcade are somewhat understandable, but everybody else has no excuse. Then again, it's not like Fartnite, Roblox, and Minecraft are political in nature, so even they should understand that identity politics are usually forcefully injected into games by activist devs and "games journalists", and not inherently part of gaming.

Excited Oh No GIF

Console warriors that stan for 1 ecosystem. If you haven't owned at least 20 different consoles (minimum) over the generations I really can't say I give a shit about your opinion on games or systems as lived experience beats just reading about how it was. There are way too many uninformed opinions floating around out there.
What if you played/know well the best games of every "genre"??

This list looks like it was made by someone who only plays modern and mainstream games :messenger_winking_tongue:

Where's the "It hasn't aged well" gamer? Where's the "This old game sucks, you only like it because of your nostalgia glasses" gamer? Where's the "[insert classic franchise] games were always bad" gamer?

Even outside of gaming, my most hated human type.

The every "game is political" crowd really piss me off.

Incredibly stupid, because you can do a political analysis of anything, but that isn't to say the object in question must be inherently political!

its just the analytic framework creating a political dimension as metric which the subject is then measured against. Its imposed not intrinsic.

Far too many people have taken on politics as part of their personal identities , seemingly because they are wastes of fucking space with nothing of actual substance to offer otherwise.

1 (graphics in general), 2, 3, 5 (not all but the vast majority), 6 (no multiplayer), 7.

Dictionary for your responses.

The "Photo Realistic Only" Gamer
This is the gamer who will typically say things like "I don't play Fortnite; it's too cartoony". Or they'll enjoy The Order: 1886 over a Gears of War simply because The Order looks more realistic. They tend to hate Nintendo because of the cartoony look of their games. Their favorite games will need to be ultra realistic looking, even if they run at 5 fps on a top tier system.

The "Frame Rate Better Be Stable and over 60" Gamer
These gamers will let you know how crap a game is because it might dip to 59.6fps in a DF video. They will use terms like "unplayable" to talk about a game that's 30fps, and will eventually morph into 60fps is unplayable once they try more 120fps games. They will turn off settings that make the game run 1fps better but looks like a dog turd. Their favorite games are action games, even if they're generic, and games that have an FPS counter and benchmark tool.

The "Gameplay Is King" Gamer
This isn't the gamer that just enjoys good gameplay. This is the kind of gamer that would prefer Zork with no graphics as long as it had deep gameplay mechanics. They fail at understanding these are "video" games, and often will just play the most atrocious looking games because they might let you do something normal people wouldn't care about in a game. Or because the rules are so complex, they feel superior because they get the gameplay and you don't.

The "I Can't Use This Controller" Gamer
These gamers are sometimes fanboys, but other times they're just stupid gamers who have little brainpower to understand how to hold something using their own two hands. This type of gamer will look at the N64 controller and have no clue how to hold it. They will overly pretend they just can't figure it out, like a phone from the 20th century, because they like being stupid. These types also will hold a rival consoles controller and make statements that their thumbs are touching, or the controller is too big. Or this will extend to a mouse/keyboard and they'll say there's too many buttons.

The "All Modern Games Suck" Gamer
This is the gamer that pretends every single modern game, especially AAA games, are all garbage and they'll pull out their microscope to find a thing that's bad in the game or just meh. They usually play older games that have aged horribly and make that the gold standard. Their favorite games include games that have 2 buttons, or are just difficult because that's how some old games kept you glued to their system. They ignore their favorite relic's issue because "bro, it was made in the 80s/90s. Of course it's missing a lot of QoL!". They think every games too easy and complain that FromSoftware games are too difficult.

The "I Don't Waste Time Playing Single/Multi Player" Gamer
A more rare gamer, but they don't touch anything that isn't 100% single player or 100% multiplayer. If it's a perfectly fine single player game, but they added a multiplayer element, they'll find a reason to hate on the game and claim that the dev costs could be used to add more to the perfectly fine single player game. Even a game like Dragon Age Origins, they praise how the game doesn't have co-op like other DND type games because it would somehow ruin the story. Then there's the gamer that hates single player games and won't touch them loves to tell you how they hate single player games and they only like playing games with their buds. Yet, their buds are never playing with them anytime you talk to them.

The "Achievements/Trophies Are Stupid" Gamer
These gamers are especially stupid creatures as they care about strangers liking achievements or trophies, and they claim it ruins a game somehow when you can just turn all of this stuff off in every game. They will typically be the kind that join a discussion about achievements and trophies to tell you how they don't like them and they're a waste of time. They're one of the most vocal of the annoying gamer because they lurk in the shadows, waiting for a thread, only to pop out and all caps a "ACHIEVEMENTS ARE A WASTE OF TIME" in the most pretentious way they can.

The "I Can't Goon To This" Gamer
These really popped up after Gamer Gate happened and they're a form of the "woke" crowd. They typically complain about every female character not looking super hot the entire time. They only play games to look at the chicks they play as. They'll pick the worst character in a fighting game as long as she's hot. They will join discussions to tell you how they are boycotting a game because the female character in a game isn't attractive enough or posing sexy enough. They will tell you how modern MK games don't have enough fappable clothing choices, as if they old games did. Their favorite game is usually Dragon's Crown and they usually sub to a few OF.

The "Every Game Is Political" Gamer
This gamer will find a way to make every single game political. They usually suffer from severe depression and only like really basic gameplay games that don't have much going for it other than talking about depression or calling out someone. They love to tell you how you "missed the point" of a game that you enjoy if you aren't hyper aligned with their game. They don't typically understand that people can enjoy things they don't align with. Their favorite games are walking simulators, but they also never finish games. They almost just seem like they became gamers to talk to gamers about politics.

The "Streamer Slop" Gamer
These gamers only play what their favorite streamer is playing. If it's not some $5 physics game or jump scare game, they don't want any part of it. Recommending anything of any quality won't matter unless their streamer recommends it. They typically will be the ones that pay real money for shout outs in the live channels of streamers.

The "It's Too Mainstream" Gamer
These gamers are just hipsters. They will be the type of gamer that will tell you in the most demeaning way that you're an idiot if you're exited for Grand Theft Auto 6. They will find some nu-retro game that no ones heard of and let you know why that's well worth $40 because the 1 hour of enjoyment was amazing, but 100s of hours in GTA is not worth $60. They are usually talking up some obscure game with more words than the game has code. But if that game gets popular, they move on and let you know that the game is trash or that they played it before it blew up. They'll play a clone version of a game that's popular and tell you why this one is somehow better.

The "Collector" Gamer
These collectors typically only play Super Mario World but never to completion. They suffer from having too many choices of games, but their hobby is only having a game room. They will buy every physical game and never touch them. How do you know? Because they'll tell you that the game is still sealed. They brag about having 5000 games on Steam, but they have only put in 200 hours total in 10 years. I don't even know if these types are gamers.

The "Master Race / Console Warrior" Gamer
The "I will only play that on X system" gamer. We all know them. I'm not defining this. Figure it out.

The "eGirl" Gamer
Hardly a gamer and more of an ad for their OF page, eGirl gamers just have their big melons hanging out while they play some streamer slop. They're different from the normal streamer because they have a tendency to get caught cheating in multiplayer games using wall hacks. They make the most money and dress up as characters in games they've never really played before.

The "I Bought That Skin" Gamer
These are the ones that love multiplayer games so they can show off their skins. They buy every single skin in the game or ecard for sports games. They have bad addictions and should get help immediately. They will usually play every season of games with limited edition skins.

Added at request:
The "New and Shiny" Gamer
They love everything that's new and popular, and they never form their own opinions. They typically live on IGN's every word and obsess over metacritic scores. If IGN said it's good, they're going to praise it. If IGN said it sucks, they won't even give it a shot.
Very high effort post, I enjoyed reading these :D

I've probably been most of them at different times, but more the modern games suck category in the last few years lol, coz they mostly do!!. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

For me it's a tie between the fans of PC/console vs console and fans of a certain genre.

For the 1st group, beyond some good old humor or banter, some take it so personal as if they own the the company/dev/publisher/manufacturer
I'm on PC, but fuck, I couldn't care less where I play a good game, might as well play it on a vacuum cleaner for all I care, IF it suits my needs.

For the 2nd, they act as if that specific genre they're playing is the only one worthy of being called a game and the rest are shit.

These two groups are the most tiresome.

Pokémon fans that cant take criticism tbh.

I say that as a big Nintendo and Pokémon fan. Its insufferable when Game Freak blesses us with a terrible trailer/announcement and you need to go through the levels of:

1st: "You guys are haters!"
2nd: "Just dont play it, youre not a fan"
3rd: "Haha are you broke?"
4th: "At this point I'm just gonna show how much the game sold, it proves you were wrong!!"

Like... As someone who loved the GBA/DS games, and had fun with Violet once I got the Switch 2 because the SW1 version was shit from a butt (I was gifted the game, before someone blames me of buying it lol). We really deserve more, I hope that Gen 10 finally gets some effort and passion, I dunno if I can go through all those levels 2 weeks in a row after FRLG bro...

Perhaps only relevant to PC gamers, but I find the most annoying ones to be cheaters.

Using aimbots, wallhacks, and purposefully using drophacks (DDos) in multiplayer matches.

The modern audience gamer. The one that demands representation and the social brownie to be in the games that they doesn't buy/play because of course they don't buy/play, because playing is a "gamer" disgusting hobby.

Second one would be e-girl gamer.

The gamer who worries about where their game data is at. The ones who think they should have every game they own on a DD, but can't delete a game they're not going to play for years, but still wants it all on their drive no matter what. Why?

Why do people here focus on what they dislike most about gaming, developers and studios. You come off as miserable, bitter people.

Edit: sorry I ramble, yeah some people are in worse moods than others, more negative than positive, it's why there's lots of humour around to cheer people up. There's plenty of humourless positive-only spaces on the web and they're boring.

You're also in the middle a thread that is literally about people expressing annoyances.

That's an odd thing to complain about. Like, what's wrong about wanting to be able to play any game you bought at any time without worrying about any dependency other than a working system and electricity?
