Ain't that the damn truth. The hypocrisy revolving around all of that is so goddamn asinine. People constantly complaining and whining about others complaining and whining. The best part is that it all is usually about absolutely nothing, or the smallest most minuet thing that doesn't matter at all. But they're just looking for something to be mad or upset about, lol.
I'm all for conversation and discussion of course, that's why I'm here. But majority of those folks aren't even willing to do that, they just want to drive-by and shit on something they're not even remotely interested in, while shitting on others that are, lol. It'd benefit them quite a bit to just ignore the things they're not interested in, in the first place.

Nah, I don't think Sony is going to shutdown a studio like bungie. They want this to work just as much as bungie does and I think with Sony they'll have Destiny to fall back on if marathon doesn't work. If Sony wasn't in the picture and bungie failed with marathon, do you think the outcome in that scenario would be different somehow? It would have been an acquisition or a shutdown. So, best to come to terms with the fact that Sony has acquired bungie.
Yes, studios are shutdown by Sony/MS due to various reasons and it definitely sucks when that happens but many studios who were shutdown have been able to put out multiple titles (there are always exceptions) before it got to that point. So, I know it happens, and when it happens to a studio you like, you feel it more. That is why you should spend money and support those studios.
They are all running a business after all. If something doesn't work, no matter how much some of us like it, it goes away. I know that all too well. (I miss Warhawk!)

That's not what I'm saying. You can think people trashing a game for superficial reasons is weird, but coming in and crashing out like someone killed your dog is a thousand times worse. Cliff notes. Theres quite few people in the thread who have played the game and are looking forward to it. Nothing to do with wokeness or anything. Usually around 3 or 4 times a day we get a drive bys from randoms who dont even like PVP games, let alone extraction letting us know how bad the game is.

BTW - GOW would make a great MMO/MMO-lite - there is quite some lore/worldbuilding to expand on - expand scale (it's easy given what the game about), put coop elements to fight bosses, get story into serialized format (it's not like any mythology lack various tales to build story upon) - and you have your live service game ready. With quite some people ready to jump in. Personally I really would like to see something like that, build on not some completely fantasy stuff, but having roots in real-world historic lore.

You're way off base but myself, and others, have come around on the game to be excited. I personally was meh, then played it; and now I'm excited.
A lot of the discussion has been ways the game has improved, bungies fumbles, us not thinking even with improvements it'll be an arc raiders success, and lots more intelligent conversations around the game as a whole.
Then, you get, EXACTLY, what you're referring to - Reddit level morons who have flat out stated they don't even play competitive games, or shooters, or extraction, but then do a drive by shit post that adds nothing to the discussion and is just rage bait douchery.
I've actually for most of this thread tried to talk others off the ledge to not engage with these idiots.
My post yesterday was not directed at any specific user, but more of a "if this is you, and you do this shit, then run into high traffic." Which I stand by.

I don't wanna derail further, but I'll say that "forced" may have been a bit dramatic on my end, but the story is the same. That kind of project just wouldn't work well for that studio. Much like the Arkane Austin and Redfall situation.
To each their own. I don't think many cared for the idea of a live service God of War title, which is likely one of the reasons it didn't make it far.
