Eh, I will believe it when I see it.

But I will say it, its a bit suspect that we dont got the release date or at least the season of year that Yoshi, Fire Emblem, Rhythm Heaven and Splatoon Raiders are coming.

We're either getting a new direct or theyre dumb enough to let people waiting while only fans of Pokopia/Tomodachi have their games.

Why these guys call it "general" again? If its about an exclusive it should be your usual Nintendo Direct.

I don't remember or seen Nintendo ever do 2 directs in a single month. Either someone is full of shit and is putting themselves under the bus or Nintendo is some crazy exception here. Sounds too absurd too me to be real.

Nintendo already said that the big thing for 40th of Mario franchise is the Mario Galaxy Movie, so this is bullshit my friends. Also, who the fuck are these guys?

Isn't there a Pokémon direct this month that shows off Gen 10?

I can't imagine Nintendo revealing Mario the same month as Pokémon. Need to space them out.

They did that last Aug or Sept. They had 3 directs that month.

I never saw a interval as big as these 9 YEARS between Mario Odyssey and the next 3d mario game (if the next mario game is released this year!).

The Oddysey team made Donkey, didn't they? So can they possibly already show next Mario?
I think the rumor is that DK Bananza was being developed by a new team that was spun off from the main Odyssey team. Which would mean they've been working on both, with DK being a more experimental title.

Either way, I personally don't really buy that Nintendo would prioritize DK over their biggest mascot who's last outing sold >30M units. If it's not the Odyssey team specifically, it's just someone else - I can't see 3D Mario not happening early on in Switch 2's lifespan.

Imagine a direct in which we get:
Mario news.
Zelda news.
Xenoblade news.
Pokemon news.

Then realize we might get two of those. If we're lucky.

God i hope this is true. I would love to see a new mario game, and while we are at it lets release GTA VI on Switch 2 day one, hah that would be a dream come true.

IF a general direct happens we can have 3 of those in the same month realistically!

Pokemon isnt going to be on the direct, but a Pokemon event is expected for late February. Then there are a lot of Xenoblade talks goind around, might have a chance + announcing a Mario or Zelda game close to the end of SW2 first year seems just right.

So Pokemon on a separate event + Xeno and Mario or Zelda in a direct can happen

Reminds me I am reading thins kind of posts every February since 2018

They had ND minis and full directs right after some times. We can consider the Partners Showcase as a ND mini

Odyssey was in 2017.....almost 10yrs since a new 3d Mario. They absolutely must show a new 3D Mario now, its way overdue.

Considering the team was busy with donkey Kong, I doubt the next Mario is too far along.

Also, didn't we got other rumor saying it would be this week?
