Supposed to get freezing rain and ice in my section of "metro Atlanta." Really didn't get anything, and I'm A-OK with that. Power stayed on, some ice on the bushes, but the big pines next to my house stayed put. Gotta say, though -- their days are numbered. That was a lot of stress.

Glad you were unscathed!

Freezing rain and ice storms totally suck and usually lead to power outages. I'm not a fan either

I've never lived in a place that gets snow like that, at most the worst we get in the UK is a flurry of an inch or two a couple of times a year at most.

I cant imagine a place where the temps drop to like -30 or more and theres feet of snow. Sounds like hell to me, I cant stand going outside if it's around 0.

Same here in Ireland, hell even less than you lot on the mainland, I couldn't even imagine the hell on earth that sort of snow would do to the UK, we had roughly 5-6" years ago, worst I can remember and the entire country shut down, we got sent home early from work and even then a normally 15minute commute turned into 2-3hrs it was bedlam lol but I loved every minute

Makes it so much easier to just pull off with the snow. Also sometimes saves you from being forced to scrape off double or thriple layer ice.

Pretty awful snowfall here. We got about a foot, and it's heavy too, especially all the sidewalk because the street plow pushed snow far enough back.

Not helping at all that I woke up sick this morning but still have to shovel ofc. Today sucked. I couldn't even finish - I still have a portion of the walk to do.

whew, helped my Mom shovel her car out this morning. Got a good 10inches around us.
Thing is my mom doesn't have a real snow shovel, its like a regualr garden or leaves shovel. So have to make 2-3x the effort of a real shovel. Whatever, do what I need to do. Got it done.

But got back in, and laid down and felt super weak. Maybe a minor snow stroke? Got back up fine after 20minutes. But tonight also, read a newsfeed of a guy found dead in his driveway with a shovel in his hands.
