2026 | Xbox Developer Direct - 22nd January (10am PT // 1pm ET // 6pm UK)

I love the premise that will keep me playing until I am ruler of the universe and making everyone pay me 75% of their take home pay

That said I think once you see the 4k feed you will see it needs a lot of polish

Hey man, I loved the cheeky humor in Discworld and The Book of Unwritten Tales styled games.

Did not care for the original Fable games since I was mainly a PC RPG/MMO gamer at the time and they felt very "Fisher Price" in comparison. Still have my PC box and game for the first one, but never bothered with the rest since MS hated PC at the time and didn't release 2 and 3 was a train wreck on in.

This reminds me of Hogwarts in art design and even down to how the menus function.

I do see the anniversary edition on sale on Steam right now with lots of mod support. Maybe I'll give it another go.

I can't do another Horizon... racing is fun but driving to each event is a huge chore.

Forza 6 looks really good, but that was to be expected. Fable, however, did disappoint me a bit, especially when it comes to animations (NPCs appear to be walking/sitting corpses with barely moving lips, and combat has some of that floatiness that enraged me with The Witcher). Also, and at the risk of arousing some grumpiness...it did not strike me as that impressive, visually? I mean, the vistas are beautiful, no doubt, but I had envisaged...more? Still very much interested, as I have never played a Fable title prior.

That's where we get the Gears blowout with a Holiday release, I reckon.

Yep. And there's Halo Remake of course as well. But surely we'll see more of Fable too? It's not like they have terribly much other games from Xbox Game Studios that they can show, or is Clockwork Revolution also 2026?

But if not June, I wonder when it will be next.

Honestly thought all the games except the game freak thing looked solid. I've got game pass paid up through 2029, so I basically consider all these games "free" for me.

The Game Freak game looked decent, at least it showed that studio *can* do modern visuals.

Love everythng except the pottery game. looks like Im spending 100+ hours in both Playground games this year. And Beast or Reincarnation looks decent as well. Not as good as say Phantom Blade Zero but still eager to play.
Grade A show.

I'll be done with Game Pass when these come out so hopefully we get a physical PS5 release for Fable so I can rent it on Gamefly.
