Releasing a hype trailer in the lead up to the event, the New Game+ Showcase is set to go live on the 8th of January and will feature a total of 45 games, including the likes of Crimson Desert; Aphelion; and many more.

Featuring no paid advertisements, the showcase is focused on giving "developers and publishers a stage where their game isn't competing for attention with dozens of sponsored slots, but instead stands out in front of communities that want to discover it."

Created by known public figures Luke Stephens; Luality; Jake Lucky; IamRob; Blue Thunder and HUN2R, this new showcase offers plenty of strong potential – assuming it's done correctly.

Cool. I wanna see Crimson Desert.

I hope it still has these amazing animation like the video we have seen last year . If it no longer does or they reduced the animation then color me very disappointed -_-

I was going to make a thread on this cuz I didn't think people knew about it thank you for doing it

Well, of the hosts I know Luke Stephens and he has some pretty good videos. Hell it was his Expedition 33 video that convinced me to buy it even though I wasn't interested previously.

i think i am going to watch the vod because before the game comes out developer interviews are not really my thing.
have fun gaf

For a first time showing, hopefully they will take some feedback.

The post-trailer 'hangout' talk is just a bit too long. It almost feels like they're filling for time because a trailer or presenter isn't quite ready yet.

I like the people talking to be honest. They seem to be chill and it seems they know what they are talking about.
I don't mind it, but there is an ebb and flow to these things to not feel too podcast-y.

I feel that the devs talking about their own games and revealing more info are more important than group banter about the same games.

Again, it's just a small issue. I always expect things to have hitches when it's someone's first time doing a showcase. I remember back when Indie MIX was just two dudes talking to the camera for way too long before showing any trailers.

Vahrin's Call looks like an OG Xbox RPG in the best way. Unless I see something more enticing it might end up as my game of show.

This one looks pretty awesome, sort of an immersive sim (at least it looks that way) in a Western Cyberpunk setting.

The bitrate of the stream makes it hard to see what the games really look like.

I liked the Thief inspired one where hes shooting arrows straight up and into an apple, has nice level of simulation.

The one with the bending metal was pretty cool but it also feels like a glorified tech demo which will run out of ideas quickly.

This thing is way too long as a format. Nobody is going to sit there for literally 4 hours watching this and with so little to get excited about. I don't mean to be rude but that's just not something most would be prepared to do. They should have split it up.

Yes, and the primary reason (and issue) why it continues is the in-between podcast-y talks taking way too long. This should not be a 4 hour show.

It's still going. I'll have a list up once it's done.
I completely understand where you're coming from I've seen a little bit of it and their enthusiasm seems fake as hell

They organized everything on the event Steam page by genre (so that I didn't have to thankfully)

The number of games and gameplay shown saves the rating from being lower.

The pacing of this show outside of the trailers, interviews, and gameplay is too wildly inconsistent. Sometimes it felt like an extended podcast clip, other times it felt just the right length to lead to the next set of games.

Those long segments also felt like they were filling for time for some odd reason. Or maybe it's the opposite and they had a 4+ hour show, realized this, and made some quick cuts to shorten it a bit.

It's a first-time showcase so I'm taking that into account. Hopefully they can work things out in the future, as I think a showcase right after new years to kick off the year is a great idea.
