Disney is insisting that all video game developments linked to the brand be launched on Switch 2.

As a result, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor are already on their way to Nintendo's new console.

This seems like a no-brainer. I'm definitely interested since it seems like the popular consensus is that these are the best Star Wars games in years.

Hopefully this means the new Star Wars Racer game is coming too. I have so much nostalgia for the poadracing game on the N64 and I bought the remaster recently and was surprised that it actually mostly held up.

Oh yeah. I got the combo pack of these two on PSN when it was $13 (I think) for both. Fallen Order is 47 GB and Jedi Survivor is 153 GB.

I'm guessing 153 GB didnt come on the disc. 😲

Might pick up the first one depending on how's it released and the state its in, what we really need to know, who is handling the port and if EA is being forced to do this how much effort are they going to put in?

Gonna be interesting to see where those switch2 ports of jedi survibor will stand compared to current gen and last gen ports:

My bet would be(as long as dev studio is relatively competent) it will be like 60fps mode of stationary consoles but with some 540-720p drs and maybe dlss slapped on top, aka no rt, framerate wise it will be capped at 30 but defo dips below that number in stresspoints- wonder if im any bit of right here :D

It will they be trash ports or actually have effort put into them?

I think we all know the answer.

I understand wanting the ability to resell, but some of the fear feels overblown, like Nintendo is going to pull the plug on everything overnight and vanish with the profits

I just find it funny that there is no worry about their electricity or water company jumping ship, but when it's a gaming company, suddenly many assume the worst

That will happen sooner or later. The thing is that we didn't have this problem untill recently, and Nintendo is basically the last one. Actually, keycards are Nintendo's idea of having some kind of physical thing, because the third parties already said that couldn't care less

Game stores already are low, social events like midnight launches are gonne, borrowing and talking with your friends about personal game achievements are a thing of the past. All this is related to physical games, to the fun of it, and it's less and less by time

You can resell a game key card though

Considering performance on last gen consoles and hell, even new gen ones, I can't wait to see sub 30 frame rate ports with all kinds of visual issues and pop-up.

The games themselves are fine, but on a technical level they are very mediocre from optimization perspective. Unlike say Cyberpunk, Witcher or even Skyrim which are all very scalable.

Not surprising.

Would be interesting to see what all gets downgraded in Fotor, or if they will scale back on scope, which I believe Cadey Hudson won't.

That's weird because Fallen Order is a PS4 game and it runs at locked 60 on the native PS5 version.
Its yet another example of a shitty PC version. On console, yes it is outstanding.

It's still playable, but stutter is everywhere.

I have also become so absurdly sensitive to it.

Lot of passion put into those Jedi games, the light sabers, the catina, simple plot (Ancient Jedi Homeworld) etc. can't wait for Jedi 3.

Ugh that's annoying. Literally just picked back up a save from FO last night. I'll probably still try Survior but backtracking sucks ass.
I don't know how much backtracking there is later in the game, but this part was just annoying.

There's a wall you're clearly meant to grab past a fan, but you obviously can't reach it because you get blown away. So I assumed I'd missed something, maybe another route, a hidden switch or even a gameplay mechanic I hadn't learned yet. I spent time looking around, convinced there had to be some device or solution nearby

Turns out there isn't. You simply can't access it until you unlock a specific story ability. There's no hint, no visual cue, nothing to suggest "come back later." I had to Google it to confirm I wasn't losing my mind, and that's when I dropped the game.

Sorry for the rant

I played a bit of the first one and didn't like it. Poor combat feedback, bad level design.

Regarding a Switch 2 version, I see no reason why it shouldn't run at a stable 30fps.

Nah I get it. Shit like that is annoying to me. I have bad comprehension skills honestly. And in souls like they expect you to listen to every detail to know where to advance next. I'm glad you told me about this though bc I'll be aware.

If they can get a game like Star Wars Outlaws looking and running decently on Switch 2 I see no reason why these games can't. DLSS and VRR have been really pulling their weight (when used/optimized properly), not sure why people seem to forget this.
