From more to less likely to happen:

No GTA6, no new Mario/Zelda main games (which is risky considering the movies).
Microsoft halts production of Xbox Series S/X.
Etrian Odyssey remakes.
 
1- Highguard will be better than many expect.
2- A beloved RPG will be shadowdropped
3- At least one large studio that is/was seemingly 'healthy' will suddenly go benkrupt or shutdown
 
Switch 2 sales start to slow due to economic reasons and people act like it was always bad and that they were never wrong in these first months.

Steam box is a dud.

Fairgame$ is never mentioned again.
 
1.) Due to increasing inflation and chip makers moving away from gaming, console sales will suffer across the board. Sony/Xbox/Steam/and even Nintendo will start to discuss streaming possibilites.

2.) Nintendo will NOT have a stellar lineup for 2026. With us already knowing most of the releases. Instead holding their cards close to their chest for 2027/2028 when ps6 launches. Still they will end 2026 with a banger.

3.) Roblox becomes investigated by different world governments and even companies like Sony, Nintendo, Epic, and MS speak up about the dangers of Roblox.

the next Xbox generation will be revealed,
it will be called the Xbox Series X2 and Series S2.

GTA6 will be delayed again.

Nintendo will announce a new 3D Mario game.

I think at this point they will go for a safer name that clearly signals a successor.

especially if the hybrid PC elements are in there.
because that can be confusing to many on its own. not having a very clear name, in combination with a new concept, could be too much uncertain messaging at once.

I think even if they only have a high end model at launch, they will call it the Series X2. for one, to show that it's the successor to the Series X, and also to keep the possibility of a low end Series S successor open.
 
Bloodborne Remake will be announced and will be released in 2026, it will include some extra content and a rework of the chalice dungeons.

Nightreign will get Bloodborne inspired dlc.

Steam Machine will either be delayed to end of year or cancelled outright.
Gamestop will start trading in old PC hardware, especially memory.
Sony will cancel 2 more big games.

  • Requiem is one of the best RE games
  • Steam Machines doesn't take off.
  • The next RE remake is announced
  • Tomb Raider is back and succeeds
  • Half Life 3 actually exists
  • Halo fails to make a comeback it needs. Series basically dead at this point.
 
1) GTA 6 will either be delayed into 2027, or if it does release in 2026 it will be a buggy, unoptimized mess compared to previous Rockstar releases because of the need to release in 2026.

2) Steam Machines will disappoint because the price-to-performance ratio just won't justify the purchase

3) Marathon will be a bigger hit than Arc Raiders and will be in the running for GOTY
 
1. Consoles will become scarce by end of the year
2. PC gaming will take a nose dive.
3. PC desktops start to disappear from the consumer space.

4. Sega brings back a revamped mega drive to fill the growing low cost gaming space. 🫶
 
1. Max Payne remakes will be shown and be sick as hell.

2. Duskbloods wiill have mixed reception just like Nightreign.

3. Lords of the fallen II will score 85-90% range

Bonus - nothing bloodborne related will be announced again

GTA 6 is a letdown, like most other western releases this gen.

FF7 Part 3 gets announced for Q1 2027
Highguard and Marathon both are commercially disappointing.
At least one major publisher goes bankrupt.

Bonus predictions:
- Sony still pretends like Bloodborne doesn't exist
- Value still pretends like Half Life 3 doesn't exist
- No Switch 2 versions of Xenoblade games
 
Only one. I am going to buy Resetera, close down the forum as its known, and use it as a hangout for those unfortunates that get banned here so all you like minded individuals can gather in a safe spot while you wait out the term of your ban.
 
Resident Evil Reqiuem ends up being a reunion game of the original trilogy protagonists. There's a second campaign they are keeping hidden. (This will age poorly)

Xbox announces it's next Xbox and it's codename, vision by the end of the year. It's a PC but they beat around the bush so much it's confusing.

EA begins selling off IP and closing divisions to appease investors.
