Skate Early Access | OT | Fortnite Style for Fortnite Prices

Wait just a joystick click does that? lol
I was wondering why sometimes my camera changed, I thought it was a bug when starting some challenges, and I always went in the options to change it back!
Yup! Online says you have to press both but it works for me pressing only one

Maybe pressing both switches camera side or something

Edit: only right joystick does it for me I think, just tested

I imagine Tony Hawk gameplay / concept maybe never truly was your thing to begin with, and you played it because it was the only option but you never "loved" it
What a strange thing to say. I played THPS1-4 when they were released. I even played Aggressive Inline, the rollerblading ripoff of THPS. Remember that one?
But sure, I never loved the gameplay apparently...
As far as I'm concerned, I can switch between both, I prefer Tony Hawk because I'm really into scoring, but both franchises have different qualities.

In Skate, you will get more thrills from doing simple basic things, and you can have a better sense of speed during downhills etc... It's also cool for relaxing and free skating.
Tony Hawk has a lot more depth though, with an amazing combo system and tons of tricks, as well as an amazing gameplay and feeling, as long as you're into the arcade stuff.
That's my point - it's a more arcadey game compared to Skate, and that's what makes it feel like a regression. Not to say Skate is realistic but it's like trying to go back to Tecmo Bowl on NES after playing a modern football game.

Yes I played Aggressive Inline too.
I didn't mean that negatively, I just meant that even if you did enjoy them back then, they weren't 100% your thing, and you had to wait until Skate to find something that really match what you're looking for.
I love Tony Hawk and its gameplay, and Skate never changed that for me, because Tony Hawk offers things that Skate doesn't / can't.

It's like SSX, I love the gameplay of SSX 3, and that won't change even if you present me new different takes on snowboarding. I just always come back to SSX and Tony Hawk no matter what new games come out :messenger_grinning_sweat: This is why I really can't think of these games as "inferior", they're a different experience and the one where I get the most fun.

So... once you understand how the gravity and the free fall / "wingsuit" system works, and you start using it more often, it becomes a different game :messenger_grinning_sweat:

It's actually quite fun, there's some kind of flow to it, playing with the gravity to reach higher places and jump above higher obstacles, but it can also be used to reach insane speeds...
It's fun, but quite broken lol It's not even a glitch, that's just how the game works. The problem with stuff like that is that once you get used to it, playing normally / the classic way doesn't feel the same anymore :messenger_grinning_squinting:

Yup! Reminds me of Riders Republic

The game has grown on me a bit. These activities right now are boring and I really abhor the skydiving ones. I hope they eventually patch in some personality.

The problem with the skydiving / stunt activities is that they don't require any kind of skill, they don't provide challenge, and they are extremely repetitive.

It's stuff like "hit 7 trees", so you jump, you hit one tree, you go back to the restart point, you jump and hit another tree, over and over...
It's boring and pointless.

I had one that was fun however, you have to skydive into a slope to get speed, then do a flip trick while jumping onto a bridge, manual on that bridge, and go back in skydive mode to land on a platform further down. And you had to do all that in one go, that was pretty fun. It's really rare that they are interesting though...

I think the activities as a whole will be a problem though, I'm already seeing the same ones I already played before, over and over.
The game needs something else than these daily refreshed activities. They are just repetitive grind side quests.

I'm not sure why people are saying this game isn't faithful to Skate, I just unlocked the Naruto Run, isn't that peak skateboard culture?

I played roughly 2 hours prior to early access.

Aside from the graphical art style, I have no bad qualms with the games. It's still skate. at it's core and I enjoy it.

Yeah, luckily they've nailed the fundamentals of a Skate game. Loot boxes and graphicstyle sucks though.

It's nice to have a Skate game that runs so fine. Skate 2 was really too taxing for the PS3 and PS3 emulator runs the game suboptimal. So it's nice to have that good performance on Skate.

The XP nerf sucks and the season pass is an easy skip. Also that Isaac Clarke cardboard skin being $40 is an actual joke.

Best thing about this update is the Gang Starr song they added.

I just wanna skate i don't care about cosmetics, so as long as the game let's me do activities without buying shit I'm fine.
