Sarah Bond “Every screen is an Xbox" - and greater ambitions of becoming the number one cross-platform gaming company

I hate them
I hate their philosophy.
We all play, we all win, every screen is an xbox.

These are just empty, looser quotes. They can't win so they drag the whole industry with them.
I really think it's time for xbox to die.

They are not competing, they are not bringing anything good into gaming and the industry. They are just hurting it.
360 was a fantastic console. They were really competing. But paid online is still her today and it's their fault. They really lost it in last year or two of 360 and everything after that is a joke.

Sony doesn't need them to compete just as Nintendo doesn't need any competition and still makes good games.
Xbox is such an empty shell of a gaming company and a industry devouring monster, that I am retroactively disliking my 360 and I love that thing.
Goodbye xbox. nobody will miss you.

Neogaf, just give me a one-time pass for a boomer comment 🙏.

I certainly do not know the past of this folks at Microsoft, but one thing for sure that strikes me just on the way they dress and talk to the people or media is: this guys are not "gamers", they were no Satoru Iwata re-coding the Earthbound game on a week type of people. It feels most of them were hired from Marketing to own the gaming company. So for them, games are more like services than whatever the hell was happening on the 90s, they measure game success on this engagement metrics which almost trivialize what games are (basically they don't see any difference between Candy Crush and Metal Gear Solid 2, and even I would say they see Candy Crush on a better light).

Anyways, I think we all got the point. Hopefully the market can self correct the course of this and Microsoft can go back to making great games!

Absolutely reek of MBA cunts.

None of them have played original Halo. None of them grew up on SMB3. None of them have shit themselves during a 29 hour World of Warcraft session (ok, that one can pass).

I remember an interview with early Blizzard, decades ago. Even though they were PC focussed, all the developers talked about was loving games, loving Nintendo and wanting to create fun.

Compare these soulless ghouls.

:messenger_tears_of_joy: If this is a preview of the damage control/PR spin we’ll be seeing tomorrow, it won’t go well. This is going to cause a lot of meltdowns lol. They didn’t have to wait almost two weeks to tell us they are going third party with some lame “every screen is an Xbox” spin.

They sat through Kojima's bullshit rituals in Japan. That's peak gamer.

todays sony news got you coping hard lmao, you reap what you sow. only nintendo is not multiplatform.
Um, there's nothing to cope with. Sony will continue to put some of their games on PC, literally nothing changed. The only console maker planning to put games on other consoles is Microsoft.

Sounds like the one taking things hard is you. :p

The slogan and entire vibe of this is hilarious.

It just makes sense to switch to PlayStation. I can play all of the great Sony exclusives and if Microsoft ever releases a great game I would consider buying it.

Good luck Xbox

Personally I think it’s shit the way Xbox is these days. Don’t get me wrong I love the jokes, piss taking also.

it could of been a great platform you know, a great console that gave PlayStation a real run for its money and with that we all benefit. Games that really impressed, show case the capabilities of the consoles, got people interested in Xbox,

hand on heart fellow green dudes, do you honestly believe they have done this in recent years?

And I don’t buy into Xbox One was the worst generation to lose because there are always new consumers and you should strive to attract them and those who were disappointed. No way have they done enough in doing so.

Getting my last moan out of the way before tomorrow’s busyness.

They say “when everybody plays we all win”

My attitude was “when they all strive to be the best we all win”

I was badly wrong about that I still can’t believe loads of people still defend this leadership. Frustrating to say the least.

Thinking the exact same thing. I feel bad for the Xbox ’core’ gamers.
Microsoft will and is selling you guys out for that ‘candy crush’ money. Not just that, but the possibility of that money. That’s cold.
Spencer & co. don’t even want to compete in this industry. Its transparent and insulting in a way.

Everything is still Xbox exclusive if we consider every platform as part of the Xbox ecosystem :pie_roffles: an other winning strategy from Phil's mastermind :messenger_tears_of_joy: :lollipop_fire:

Some folks are having a hard time dealing with fact that console wars as we have known them for decades is slowing coming to an end. It will be ok. The gaming discourse will return to the NES era were the gaming talk was mostly about tips and tricks. It was a pleasant time.

Here I was thinking Xbox was going third party and ending the console war with PlayStation in defeat.......only to find out now everything is Xbox and they won......my head is spinning, lol.

I get the meaning but in reality it's bullshit is what I'm saying.
What's bullshit?

The new strategy? They have no other options if Xbox wants to continue to exist.

It's either 3rd party, or nothing at all.
Even if they start with select titles, it'll only accelerate the decline of Xbox as a platform-holder and eventually they will become another EA/Ubisoft, that may or may not sell devices (notice how they talk about 'devices', not necessarily 'consoles').

Remember how people used to call video games at one time 'Nintendo,' even if it was not a Nintendo system, they want that notoriety so damned bad. And will cringe PR speak it ad nauseum.

Just because you say, "eVeRy sCrEeN iS xBoX," doesn't make it so.
Well if you consider that every modern TV since a decade as a browser built in, every computer, every phone too obviously... Technically everybody can access xCloud as long as the connexion is good enough.

And it's a "proof of concept" more than an absolute reality for now, but technically yes it works.

It's being delusional to not admit that cloud gaming is one of the future of gaming. Will a majority of gamers embrace it ? I dunno but if in a couple of years, or a decade, it works as well and looks as good as a Netflix 4K show or an Apple TV 4K movie next to its BR counterpart... Well yes I can see it succeeding.

And they'll still develop Xbox hardwares as they say, for the people who still want that experience, like there are still people buying BRs or CDs, so I don't see any problem here.
