I thought the game was better than I expected. I really enjoyed the story part and single player gameplay was fun. I did try playing with others but it wasn't as fun.

I know I'm in a small minority, but I don't outright hate what I've seen. The U.I. is absolutely a sore spot, but the idea of doing all that with some buddies does come across as appealing to me. I had a decent time with Gotham Knights myself so..

We'll see, I am in no rush to play this, so if it's bad, it's really no biggie to me.

Weren't they going to be making a superman game and got shot down for this gaas nonsense? Rip rocksteady

I hope more and more gaas fails so they go back to making proper games. SP are a safer bet, get positive pr. The problem is the pubs see fortnite, apex and all that shit Gen z likes and think they can make it big and be the next fortnite. Thing is they wind up more like destruction Allstars or some shit and fizzrl out. They don't listen and they die..

From what I heard, and I only played for like 20 minutes because I wasnt feeling it, the music had this cool atmospheric, ambient electronic thing going on which was pretty good.

I wasnt turned on by the visuals and think Arkham Knight looks 10x better.

Given Rocksteadys previous games, you would think this would be a sort of new hardware showcase. When gameplay was first shown. I was shocked how last generation it looked and thought maybe during these final months they would of been improved a little.

I haven’t played it myself, from watching clips it’s like everything I dislike about modern gaming, deliberately drawn out and repetitive which makes it soulless.

I'm going to give a shot since I'll be getting it with my Gamefly rental. Expectations are on the floor so maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Too bad you can't rent it on Steam. I'd give it a shot for $10 or so for a month. I played Avatar that way and I thought a month of Ubi+ was a fair trade for what I got out of it.

I was actually surprised to learn the game is completely console/pc crossplay, which was a very smart choice.

Soundtrack was great.

The rest was awful. I absolutely don't get this game, at all. Why are the Suicide Squad launching around on platforms?!?! (yes, I know they found some "reason" and shoehorned it into the plot)
It felt like they were making a different game and 3/4's the way through got the SS license and wrapped skins for the characters around whatever game it was originally meant to be.

I loved the Arkham games, and enjoy superhero games well enough, but this one is just baffling.

Oh, and I suppose graphics were just ok? Controls were fine I guess, nothing wonky or anything, just head-scratchingly bizzare to be doing the things you were doing.

The only thing I thought was decent was the music

The rest of it felt like and played like Agents of Mayhem. It's straight up Agents of Mayhem.

And I enjoyed Agents of Mayhem. But I dont need another one.

Huh, now that you say that I can see the comparison.

Are there any options to tone down the visual diarrhea during combat?

Was in the alpha. Great game, it plays like a game from a different time. Nothing like it being released right now. Deff gonna be shit on cause it's not another Arkham game tho

Really? That sucks either way. A good single player superman game would rock by them. This isn't n64 days so it could be done.

It could done but would require very very good studio to pull off and lot money as writing has to top tier as would very hard write compelling story for superman.

Then they've got get around why superman is dying over over again. Hopefully someone could come up something more compelling than kryptoians and krytomite

I really think old rocksteady could of done it shame.

It felt like a weird mix of Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and Gotham Knights. Not the worst thing ive played but not good either, def not 70 bucks good.

Overall impressions here so far seem more positive than expected, enough that it's getting confusing. Bomb. No Bomb, wait for subscription service or wait for $20 bargin bin?

Played the alpha.
It can be fun, but I hope the game has more to offer other than "shoot purple boils off tanks", horde missions and the Riddler.
Cutscenes were fun but the low point was the "Batman experience" where they connected the end of Arkham Knight... It shows they are not committed to their own storylines, which let me predict that this game will end in a colossal flashpoint or a "actually a doombot" kind of scenario. Either way nobody will stay dead here.

So yeah, not atrocious but "meh, with potential"

Sorry Squad, the 2nd of February you'll be defeated by a team of teenagers shooting themselves on the face for demon summoning

I played some of the Alpha. The opening tutorial section where you cycle through the charaters was quite poor and not a great start. I could see a lot of people put off straight away.
But getting into the open world I thought it was fun. I went with Shark and he was good to control and I was starting to get into traversal and combat.
I thought it looked and sounded decent. The cut scenes were excellently done I feel.
All in all I'm looking forward to it although I'm not expecting 9/10 game when it launches. Day 1 for me though.

It wont. The game is exactly that and thats why it sucks so much. Despite the awful UI, the gameplay and traversal can be fun and the cutscenes looks really well made, but the trash mission design just completely kills it
