If everything is just being chucked onto Gamepass and nothing matters except subscribers, than my fear remains that they will just shovel shit onto the service with hardly a care for quality. At least CoD needs to somewhat justify a $70 price tag right now. When they care about content on the service way more than quality content on the service you get Redfall and Halo MCC.

Will be very interested in the quality of the first big game from these new IPs to launch day 1 on Gamepass.

Its recycled maps with some movement improvements from last years game and will still sell a billion dollars worth

I hope you're right but a lot of that would require great talent management and this seems to be one of their biggest weaknesses this past decade. Looking at 343i for example, someone higher-up leaves every other month. Other studios have complained about too many part-time workers and a lot of shifting in employees overall. Talent and creativity come in many forms but in most cases it needs a lot of care and attention to fully come to fruition. This is what I meant by ''soulless'' in my previous post. You can't just throw people with a degree in game design at a project and hope things work out.

Rare’s Sea of Thieves is one of the most commercially successful titles of all time, and has sold around 6 million units on Steam alone.
The game still has a significant amount of players on Xbox and PC

Arkane stumbled with Redfall, but prior to that was Deathloop with multiple GOTY awards.

Beyond daft for anyone to include The Coalition there. There’s nothing to suggest they’re having any issues.

This was clearly put together by ignorant platform warriors.

God forbid someone actually read the post I was replying to instead of going off on a tangent that doesn't even address what I was saying. No issue with being happy, but saying it's one of the best days of your life is extremely sad considering the context. Corporate cheerleading and this almost cult like infatuation with them is not healthy and shouldn't be celebrated.

And I just have to laugh every time Microsoft posts a “first party” pic of titles they publish. Mates, you ain’t part of any of them. It’s why I can’t take anyone seriously who calls Bethesda or any of these Microsoft “first party”.

Yeah you’re technically right but we all know Microsoft has nothing to do with any of it.

Consolidation of publishers is bad for the industry. Once again, regulators fail at their only job.

Meh, hyperbole and all. Not every single game sucks. But most everything on your list has already been out for awhile or was made by a completely different company and MS paid for a little bit of Gamepass time and will be gone at some point. Just not very impressive to me.

Why does any consumer care if items in a subscription service were made by third parties? What’s the relevance? 😂
