I have access to a PS3 and I could get this beauty:

But the DS3 sucks and the PS3 system is really slow. I wanted to play this in 4k with a redone (not stretched) UI like on these remasters.
I have the ps4 version for ps4 but that is stuck on 1080p.
They should make a proper remaster for these games and add HDR and Haptics at least.
They can skip the PSP games and Ascencion, btw.
Here's hoping it happens one day.

There should be a collection for modern platforms that includes the 2 PS2 games as well as the 2 PsP ones. Unfortunately it seems rather unlikely at this point, so eithet the PS3 version or emulations are your best options.

God of War I and II should be remade at least to the God of War III Remastered level and the entire trilogy should be released in 4k if budget is an issue.....otherwise give me all the old God of wars in highest detail possible, I will take ascension too and a PC port is must for preservation sake.

That being said, you can emulate the PS2 versions on modern Xbox consoles and they scale up beautifully:

I never realized until playing it in high resolution but he actually has very notable sausage fingers when you see him the first time (i-e his fingers are just 2 clumps).

God of War 2 holds up remarkably well even today. Very strong art style.

Thats like saying PS1 BC should happen on PS3, but Square and Capcom will Square and Capcom....they don't give a shit you own FFVII on PS1 and that you can play that copy on PS3 thru BC, they still fucking ported those games on PSN. Are some of you under this impression that remaster, ports etc is some charity to allow you to play a game out of the kindness of their hearts IN PLACE of BC or something? lol Do you know how many ports and remasters we saw even with systems that have BC? Your ability to play a game is irrelevant to a company selling a remaster or a port. So I 100% believe you'd see a remaster or collection or remake of those games even if PS5 had BC, for fuck sakes Ghost Of Tsushima got a remaster and you can play it on PS5 thru BC to PS4.

I dont know, but i for sure wish so! The HD Remasters you mention OP can be played on RPCS3 on PC, both GoW 1 and 2 and the PSP remasters. Those 4 games are not that hard to run compared to other heavy PS3 games so you dont need that powerful of a CPU.

The PS3 remasters really were not satisfying. I played through the remasters earlier this year.

I recently grabbed a PS2 and retrotink and am enjoying them in the original 4:3 at 60fps. They honestly don't look much worse than the PS3 remaster. Better in some regards due to no stretching. They also support progressive scan.
