This thread is a stealth shyt on Battlefield franchise all you can speak fast. Battlefield has never been as bad as some people make out to seem. Bf2042 is the first game in the franchise that genuinely does not feel like a Battlefield game. The gun play is easier, squad based tactics are gone and the weapon variety is severely lacking.


I'm not sure this can redeem itself, it's at the engine and core gameplay level that needs to change. BFV should have been the template for future Battlefield games.

Yeah it was datamined and I think people thought it was for general gameplay, but they quickly responded and said it was just going to be for portal mode. Cue scepticism, after everything has already lost their shit.

As for the hero stuff, if they go the way of Battlefront I think it would be actualy better than what they have now. The beta really turned me off. I think equally as big of an issue is the balance, vehicles and maps. I'm just curious with the change of leadership who sets a games strategy - why would this guy come in and continue a path that isn't his own?

A spiritual remake of Battlefield 2 with emphasis on realistic physics where vehicles behave and take damage realistically, air vehicles require skill to fly and fewer weapons and gadgets that are modeled closer to their real life counterparts.

Didn't veteran Dice developers leave and started a new studio, Embark studios I think, maybe they can do it.

If gamers are will to drop almost half a billion dollars on Star Citizen there should be enough BF fans out there to make it happen.

Until then EA knows gamers have no choice but to take what they give us since they know they're the only party in town.

BF3 campaign sucked big time. Lets not pretend and imagine it was a good campaign

BF3's campaign didn't suck, it was just mediocre (yet still better than BF4's).

The only Battlefields with great campaigns have been the Bad Company ones and Battlefield 1's. Bad Company's were the better ones because they were a lot less constrained by the setting.

And a Battlefield Heroes campaign would have been amazing. In fact, I'd take just having Battlefield Heroes back (minus the microtransactions).
