The daft thing is, this is now happening out in the world, the place i work has now hired a group of people to ‘help with diversity in the workplace’ as they are saying there isnt enough women or lbgt etc compared to males and they need to change that by 2030 where there a equal split, theres a man being doing a temp job there for last 10yrs and they officially boarded the job and hes lost out to female whos never worked here and apparently hasnt got a clue how the buisness works, my nephew applied for a apprenticeship and never got a interview yet he also applied but altered his name and changed his sex to female and got offered a interview right away. Gone are the days where people get a job or promotion for there ability and what they can do

To save my brain sanity i still think that diverse hiring instead of talent hiring is still a rare thing and majority of companies actually want to make money with the best team possible.

You know its weird that people like Mitch Dyer, Jason Schrier call out a small studio who was founded with original people who had an idea? So any small studio that doesnt have diversity automatically are pieces of shit and part of the problem, regardless of how great the work environment is, no crunch?

Like I'm all for there being people being hired fairly based on their skills not the ethnicity or gender. And it looks like here the old studio team moved to a new studio. Also would be nice to interview the woman that works there of what the studio is like.

Context is everything, you cant just automatically judge someone/studio based on a pic, and not at least know that they are all the original team members from previous small studio. SO if the studio had not sent out a pic? Would there be outrage Jason/Mitch?

It's certainly not helping to pretend people like Shreier actually have a moral basis for what they say. If non-SJWs like yourself keep on validating their ideas then the situation is hopeless. That is to say, if you genuinely believe that the so-called SJWs have a valid moral position, then frankly you've been played. If your only objection is the harassment they engage in, then you're missing all the other methods they use to infiltrate and socially engineer industries to follow their agenda. This is only partially true, if you choose on ideological background you will get people who all agree, at least superficially (diverse Marxists?) Yet you will get your rainbow of skin color for the press.

Also, victim vs abusers can't be mapped on to skin color, or gender, not at a personal level. If anything abusers are more often than not close to their victims, which almost guarantee that they look the same.

And there is that idea that diversity is always a strength, sometimes you want cohesion, at least on some level people who are sharing a background will often share a set of assumptions, which can ease communication to some degree (I personally prefer working with people from different backgrounds, because there is fun in the exchanges you get out of this, however wokeness makes it less and less pleasing as honest / level conversation becomes unlikely given the dynamic it imposes).

Books exist on the subject, in short, I am not against diversity (real diversity), but I am firmly against how it's done now, that basically turned into hunt the white dudes, especially if they don't toe the line, they're all evil. The ideology itself does it in a kind of racist way, assuming that nobody from a victim group can do anything by themselves if the others don't "get out of the way" first, i.e. they are not good enough to get to the front?

But the most important thing is the practicality of the quotas everywhere approach, if there are few diverse candidates and the big corporations already got all the good ones to fill their quotas... What are the small businesses to do? And how small a group of white people has to be before it raises suspicion? 2? 5? 10? 15?

I prefer the days when a black/asian/latino person sitting beside me was not questionable, if that person is there it's because they're as good as me (or as bad as I am) we can interact on even ground.

people need to stop being scared about standing up to these people. i mean where is it going to stop? we're now at a point where it's somehow morally wrong to be an indie studio of 20 white guys and posting a photo of the team online. if this was ubisoft and out of their 20.0000 employees only 10% were women or whatever, that's a completly different thing and worth thinking about but we are talking about a small indie studio with 20 people here. is it still okay for 5 people with white skin to work on something together or would that already be too close to a klan rally for schreier? the guys who made hotline miami were 2 (white) friends from sweden, should they be cancelled now too because no diversity?

But when it's utilized as a weapon to possibly stifle other talent because you have to fulfill a quota? WE GOT A PROBLEM. Just hire based off of talent. Period. Most game developers in the west are Caucasian. And I know there are minorities in the game industry too. There may not be as much because hello, the gaming industry primarily white.
