Microsoft should make a portable Xbox One.

Honestly , MS could easily just allow the Xbox App to work native on the Steam Deck . And allow Game Pass to work. It is literally a win win for everyone. .

a windows 11 portable that launches straight into the xbox/gamepass app would be what i would personally prefer. essentially a steam deck but xbox branded lol
Its called a Surface. It won't play the entire Xbox library including BC games and Xbox console version of the games.

I've basically been saying this for years now.
It should be a handheld Series S though.

They'd be far better off making a cut down portable Series S, so like a Steam Deck then :p Seriously, if they make a portable Series S that's around half the power of the Series S, plays all current games on X1 + gamepass and also is future proof to play all future AA games the regular way and all future AAA games via Cloud, they could do very well actually, assuming it has the ability to dock. The Steam Deck is more appealing to me though.

Most Xbox games have an online component. Since your going to be online anyways, may as well just go xcloud. Either xcloud and a phone/pad or a nice lap top, since the vast majority of Xbox games are on PC. Xcloud is a nice compliment to Gamepass Ultimate when AFK or away from your console, but it isn't as good and doesn't replace the console/PC and TV/monitor. A sub $500 handheld would be the same way as xcloud, a compliment to the real deal.

I stand my case. If this is possible at 399 USD, then so is the OG Xbox One.
Of course it's possible (to put out an Xbox 1-level handheld at least, shrinking down an actual XB1 would be a terrible idea) but why would you want to at this point? It wouldn't receive any future support. If they hold out until 2023 or so and put out a Series S level hybrid though, that would actually make sense.

No, I was wrong.

With the Steam Deck you can install Windows and play all games coming to Xbox/PC. You don't need a portable Xbox One when the Steam Deck does the job.
Like I said... Microsoft is late for the party.
When did Steam Deck get Xbox OS? You are telling me some Linux device with hardly any space to buy and install Windows is a reason to use that Windows Store as a replacement for Xbox? Windows Store does not have any of the BC games or the Xbox version of multiplayer game(you won't load into Xbox lobbies of games like Destiny 2), neither does it have seamless party chart built into the OS.

I agree. Tech is good enough for downgraded versions of the Xbox library.

Before Switch, No1 would of thought about playing current gen games on handheld like Witcher 3. Or games like BOTW, Mario etc.
There wasnt even all 4 shoulder buttons on a handheld. So everyone says no, until the tech shows it can be done.

Now that steam deck is coming and proving it can play even more of the latest games, theres defo space for Xbox and Playstation to go portable with there entire library.

People are gonna say no, but they said it was impossible before the Steam Deck was announced, don’t pay too much attention to the people saying no lol

What you prefer... a specific Microsoft portable console that plays Xbox games or a PC portable console that plays Xbox and PC games (including your Steam/Epic/Uplay/Battlenet/etc library)?
As for lobbies or party chat, there are several apps on PC that can be installed.

BTW, I love the way you alter my comments when you quote me.

Its not about preference, they are different things. If Windows Store was a replacement for Xbox, then it would have done its job as so. Some people like the Xbox console ecosystem.

You should.

Alot of casual Xbox gamers don’t even know what Steam is lol. I bet half the Switch users don’t know what Steam is.
Theres so many kids and adults that would rush to buy an Xbox portable but wouldn’t care about a Steam Deck or know what it even is

Im talking Casual fans. So its not always about preference or whats better. Obviously with the Steam Deck you can do alot more. But the casuals arent gonna think, oh with a steam deck I can install windows and then install all these things.

But if a casual Xbox fan or teen see’s an Xbox portable, they will think ”Wait I can play COD, Fornight and Halo on the go?“
That will be alot more appealing. Brand power

It probably won’t sell close to Switch numbes, but a portable xbox even if it sells 15-20million it would be a success.

Im gonna get a steam deck maybe next year anyway but Im talking about casuals and kids, an xbox portable is gonna be more appealing
