Microsoft is making this move in part to specifically aid Kojima. That legendary developer was previously going to make a game with Stadia, but Google has backed away from games. The Metal Gear creator is now in the midst of negotiations with Xbox to produce that game. Kojima Productions is still in the early design phases for this project.

So basically that has zero implications for anything that is already in production (and has been since Death Stranding).

Kojima Productions before covid had multiple projects they had started from inception of studio. Right now he's got multiple things going on, one is with Sony for Death Stranding Directors cut, another is " secret project" he's assisting in, basically overseeing only, and his next project he will be all in on is the one with Xbox.

My issue with grubb is his knowledge of the industry is pretty shit. But they guy knows people for sure.

But anyways.. it's the exact same prediction I've been making about Kojima here.

Timeline
- After Death Stranding, Kojima did an interview where he said he was interested in "Cloud Gaming"
- He then was heavily rumored to have a Stadia deal
- It was then heavily rumored that deal fell through when Google decided to not invest in games directly for Stadia
- Then the MS rumors picked up

MS is really the first company to do that corny "use the power of the cloud to make games" shit.. Stadia then ran with it even further.. but have clearly backed off.

It's different than just game streaming.. not that Sony couldn't do it, but I don't think they are eager to jump into doing some cloud-only games. MS on the other hand would be far more eager for multiple reasons, and are the most likely place at this point Kojima would end up if he wants to do a "cloud only game."

It also just fits his focus on "Strands" aka social elements.. if a game is only available in the cloud, and is running on servers that are all in the same DC, he could dream up some cool social aspect for that game. A big ass Kojima MMO of sorts.

He sold "10+" copies of a $2 Android game once, and likely only a handful of a $5 Steam Early Access games. There is no reason to believe this guy has any sort of funding, or was ever in danger of ever making any money lol

If this turns out the way I think it will, what is fraudulent is going to be IPs, like IP infringements that can not be said to be just referenced. They are not directly ripping off Sony, they are using their platform to rip off other IPs in their software product, and they are not ripping off people.
I am pretty sure it will do 'references' that completely rip off other well-thought-out games. Perhaps personal defamation and impersonation could be filed against them if there's proof they laid out these 'coincidences' beforehand with a plan. The first batch may end up with cease and desists filed against them if they put out a game with a price at the end of all of this, while right now it seems like they are putting out a free app to demo their game, and thus no harm done.

They haven't done anything yet, this doesn't preclude Sony from building up a case against just to be safe if they think this situation warrants it. Also until BBG makes any gains from anything, they are warranted benefit of the doubt in a judicial sense. Public opinion, like myself, thinking BBG are a scam is whole another thing.
