Sounds expensive. But hard to tell untill we've seen it..

I really can't see how Nintendo will make the value argument here, this half-step won't draw 3rd parties back to the table, and will probably have just as shitty adoption rate by devs as the NEW 3DS did, I think there are 6 games TOPS that supported that fully.

I work in a similar store in the same country (we are bigger) I’ll check this afternoon, to see if it’s listed.

What's the gimmick? There is no way Nintendo is going to release this as just a more powerful iteration. They always slip something in.

Your putting too much faith in an old nvidia chip. It is going to be using DLSS for sure because there's no way natively they could achieve any local rendered 4k even if it was scaled.

I'm more bummed that the screen is 720p even though its a OLED. Kind of sad that screen spec wise it's getting what Vita had back in 2013.
Wasn’t Vita maxing out at 540p and had no HDR?

How many of y'all wanna bet that it won't even be XBOX ONE level?
We will see how drunk they are off theirSwitch sales. To be fair in their minds people are paying £229+ for Switch now, a slightly beefed up Switch with a 720p OLED display, support for 4K rendering in docked mode, and improved dock in their mind is worth £349. Maybe this will give them a reality check or they will think they can raise prices more in the future with a true successor.

Unless the games are hitting 1080p on handheld a 720p screen is fine. I'd rather the devs target 720p and focus on frame rate and effects.

Switch was launched at 329€/299$. If this rumor is true, launching at 399€ can only means a powerful console, or even a new form factor. Or maybe it's just a placeholder.

We better be over 1080p for that price, which rivals a PS5 DE. Probably $500 here in Canada. I know graphics technology isn't Nintendo's forte or interest, but anything less than 1080p is insulting in this day and age, for that price, and given that almost any modern phone pushes well beyond that resolution.

I'm 95% sure it will be Xbone level, at least in docked mode. Nvidia flops > GCN flops, so something like 1 TF should be enough to beat Xbone. Also the CPU will be much better of course.

I'm willing to pay $400 for one. Now the question is will I be able to successfully submit an order at the right time...

Damn Nintendo just announce this thing already.

I don't want E3 to be hampered by people having to tip toe around this thing not being announced.

Tflops aren't the entire story, though. Stuff like CPU IPC and clockspeed, mem. bandwidth, amount of RAM, etc. still contribute to power. I'm expecting 1 extra teraflop, but will they lift the tide on all other fronts as well? We'll have to see...

Some of the expectations you all have are insane. It will likely be a solid 1080p machine with games that go to 1440p upscaled. Higher frame rates as well. if you are expecting more than that you are betting against yourself. Not saying it won’t be more, I am saying its not likely.

Handheld screen will likely stay at 720p. Docked it will be upscaled to 4K via DLSS. These are pretty solid details.

Well, people willing to pay $300 for the current switch will probably be happy to pay this much just because Nintendo says it's new.

For a $350-$400 machine that's pretty good. It won't look like a blurry mess on a 4k tv that's what matters.

Nintendo found new chips in nvidia’s scrap bin?

No doubt we need a better spec’d switch but keep your expectations in check, Nintendo is all about games not tech specs.

$399 for a 1080p console with AI upscaling to 4K seems a bit much. I mean the OLED screen is nice and all, but still only 720p. $349.99 would have been better with a game included.

What kind of CPU core can we expect? An A72?

I am betting it is one of the Xavier Chipset named NX if it uses DLSS, I dont know how else it can achieve 4k?
