Post your first videogame ordered on Amazon

Go to your Amazon orders and travel back in time to see what was the first videogame you got from Amazon.

Along with some books and a DVD of Halloween, I got the singular and masterful Viewtiful Joe back in 2004.

Soul Calibur IV and Dragon Age Ultimate Edition in 2010 for 360. Doesn't really feel like it was that long ago, crazy.

Technically I had an account with my ex wife, and another account with my brother before that, but I don't have access to those accounts anymore so I'm using my current one with my present wife. I think the true first Amazon game purchase was probably .Hack for Gamecube back in the day, or maybe Alien Hominid. Hard to say.

FFXII closely followed by heavenly sword. Made me realize I miss strategy guides. Do they still make physical books?

I was only 16. Weird trip down memory lane lol.

I feel like amazon didn't really exist in canada until after the ps4 launched.

The first game I bought was yakuza remastered Oct 2020 after deciding digital only wasn't for me

It was Dark Souls 3 back in 2016. It turns out I've only ordered two games off Amazon (Nioh 2 being the second). I thought it was more.

Ha. This is actually funny, as I swear I bought more stuff from Amazon; been a customer since 2004, but this is the first video game order I could find. I used to buy games from Game and CEX, since they were nearby. I guess GTA 4 was out of stock, which is why I ordered online..!

Snap, OP. Barely played either of them but I remember getting them.

I know, I really need to revisit them both. I remember enjoying them but having absolutely no idea what was happening at the time.

Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles, Sony PlayStation Portable
In 2011 I paid £10.02. Used - Very Good.

Super Mario Galaxy 2, Nintendo Wii
A month later I paid £12.02. Used - Like New

Back then play.com and others were still beating Amazon for deals, so I rarely shopped from there.

The first purchase I made on Amazon was Shenmue II for the Xbox in 2007. In the same order were two Spice Girls albums: Spice and SpiceWorld.

Shenmue II in 2001.

Twenty fuckin' years ago.

It’s crazy it’s that old. I wanted to import it on the Dreamcast, but had to wait until I got an Xbox due to the import prices.

I've never bought a game off Amazon. Amazon only recently opened up shop in Sweden, and games aren't really any cheaper there than any other place. They just have longer delivery times.

(Yes, importing from Amazon UK or DE has been an option, but then I'd rather just get the game from a Swedish store.)

Cruis'n - Nintendo Wii

I don’t even remember what that game was

I am trying to rememer where I puchased it, but Perfect Dark on N64 was my first online purchase. It was either from Amazon or GameStop.

I lived in a small town with only a crappy WalMart to get games from. People there were terrible at their job, and many times you would have to wait for days after a game released for them to actually put them on the shelf, and then you were lucky they had enough. I was not going to take a chance in Perfect Dark.

It was also the first game I remember getting a pre-order bonus for: a N64 controller bag. It was large enough for a controller a game or two and memory card.

This should be a fun thread. I expect lots of people to be proud of my first gaming purchase on Amazon, lol.

I remember the exact time and location too. I bought a PS3 2 years into it's life and didn't realize that it played PSX discs. Someone at work told me and I just about lost my shit out of pure excitement, lol.

On a somewhat related note. A job I worked a few years back, we would get Christmas gifts for a local home of special needs adults. I was looking at the gift lists and one guy wanted a copy of Chrono Cross and a PSX memory card. It was so awesome! Needless to say I snagged his list and was happy to act as Santa for him that year.

It took a bit longer for me to find out about that feature on PS3, but once I did - I went and bought the same two games as you plus FF 7, 8, and 9.

Didn’t have an Amazon account for a while, I’d just ask my dad to order it for me and pay him. Either that, or I’d get the bus to town and buy from brick and mortar stores.

First game ordered on my own account 12 June 2013;

Sony PS4 Action Pack at £424.99

Shipped 29 November 2013.

Was the PS4 console bundled with Killzone Shadow Fall and Battlefield 4.

I know exactly which game was my first from Amazon and it was during the time they were mostly known as a bookselling company and I had to mail them a check for Resident Evil 1 (new). Amazon was the only one who had it lol. I can't show a receipt for it since I don't remember having to create an account.

my post from the other Amazon topic. my first order was my first game:

Rarely used Amazon for games back in the day. Mine all came from retail stores or special reserve website/mail order

First games I bought on Amazon were Resident Evil 6 and WWE 13 on 24 November 2012
