Nice spin.6 months into a generation and we are already making definitive predictions about how the entire generation will look ~7 years from now. As I said in another post, 6 months into last gen we had no idea the following new IPs were going to be released for PS4:
Bloodborne
Death Stranding
Days Gone
Ghost of Tsushima
Spider-Man
Until Dawn
The Last Guardian
Beyond that we already know that at least 3 major Sony studios in Bend, Santa Monica Studios, ND are all working on new IPs. Again and this is only 6 months into this new gen. But yeah the PS5 is just going to be Uncharted, Spider-Man, GOW, TLoU etc.. sequels..............
Also, here are some of the games Xbox has announced for their next gen console:

I hate gaming on PC, I am and will always be a console guy. Working 10 to 12 hours a day on IT, the last thing I want to do when I come back home is to interact in any way with a computer.

I switched to the XSX this gen but I still very much appreciate Sony games. They are some of the best in the industry. TLOU and Uncharted 1-3 plus most of the GoW games were brilliant.
It was really hard for me to switch but ultimately I did because of the value of Gamepass plus the bathesda acquisition. I now see huge potential with Xbox studios. I get that your on 'team xbox' but its weird to hate a whole plethora of first party games on one console..

You're not missing much. PS5 was cool for a month. Holding onto it because I'm scared I won't be able to find it again or I'd sell it until a new big title was set to come out. Like GoW2. Demon's Souls was the whole reason I got one. Been collecting dust since. Maybe I should put it in its box to avoid dust from getting inside.

Sony would be dumb to have next gen exclusives at this point. What would’ve been the point if people can’t even get their consoles to play them on. Especially so long after launch. When we knew there was gonna be shortages I didn’t think it’d be going on that long

I mean, the saves you have in game are the saves in the cloud. If you want to delete them, delete them while your in the game. Why even bother with needing to view them in the cloud?

Never checked even once what was in the cloud, I have been using Xbox since the cloud saves exist. They are there, all your games are there, nothing is never lost. Changed console several times, I always got everything back without any issue.
Microsoft designed cloud saves so it is extremely convenient and you never have to worry about it.
Thought I would share my point of view about it, even if I know it does not help you in your search. I still hope you will find a solution somehow.

Welcome aboard!!! You'll love it. Definitely one of my favorite consoles ever, and all the best games haven't even dropped yet. It just feels so different with how I'm able to just go back and play so many generations of games. Has that flexible PC vibe to it which I really appreciate. Quick Resume is a literal cheat code. It's so awesome. Currently playing Skyrim with the 60 fps boost.
Warning on this particular game. If you ever jump back in via a quick resume and it feels sluggish, it isn't in your head, it seems to be a bug with fps boost currently. Save your game, quit the game, relaunch.

When I was hunting for a ps5 and just could not get one I thought about getting a series x to fill in the gap. But after some digging in what game gamepass has, ands costs (€180 a year) and what I already played on ps4 + the collection I already own on ps4 (and all of the psplus collection games) it was a no brainer to wait and finally get a ps5 when I did. What's with all the save file trouble people are bragging about on xbox? Great to read op is having a blast on his series x with some older games. Plus fun to see xbox fans still riding the xbox one narrative: wait a couple a years, or next e3. We will show the world.... 6 years later... Nothing...

Only Xbox I own and have ever owned is the original my grandfather bought me in 2002. I do enjoy Halo, am I'm looking forward to the new Perfect Dark.
I don't hate all of Sony's games, Wipeout Omega is great, and I enjoyed HZD. GOT had potential, but it was a reskinned HZD. TLoU was miserably boring, Spiderman was fun for 15 mins swinging around, GoW is less action packed Bayonetta, Death Stranding was amazing, Persona 5 was also amazing.
Most of their games to me are just boring movie games, but to each their own. I was just poking fun at fanboys.

When my Xbox 360 RROD a year out of warranty they said on the phone they would repair it for free. They send me the shipping label and a courier came to pick it up and a courier brought it back a week later. Perfect CS and warranty.
When my PS3 suddenly stopped reading discs a month or two out of warranty I contacted their CS and they said they can repair it for $150. I politely declined and later got gifted my brothers slim when he moved abroad so I could play my disc bought games again. This kind of how they handle warranty claims made my decision also a lot easier to go Xbox only.

My surface laptop 3 is fifteen months old. They told me that the repair would be fixed under an extended warranty. Then told me that it would be 460 to repair it and I asked to speak to a manager and they told me that it would be 650 to repair it. Here's the issue as it's well documented

And the 360 I had red ringed in four months. They told me 250 to fix it. That was in 2006. The extended red ring warranty happened in mid or late 2007 due to an impending class action lawsuit.
Sony replaced my Sony XM3s for FREE several years after the warranty expired. And I bought them USED. They still gave me a new set of headphones even though I bought them used. So you think CS on Microsoft is good for you? Cool. But they are refusing to repair a laptop that is 15 months old with a KNOWN hardware defect that they acknowledge happens. They didn't do shit with the Thompson drive on the original Xbox, the 360 forced their hand due to it not only destroying the entire brand, but the impending class action lawsuit. So no the way they handle their warranty claims are bullshit to me.

All analog sticks drift. My 360 controllers drift so hard that they play ridge racer on pro. My switch joycons drift and my dual shock 3s drift. Surprisingly my dual shock 4s don't drift but my ps5 dual senses are too new to start drifting. But analog sticks in general all develop some form of drift.

Jim Ryan blessed my ps5. He told me "As long as you don't play old games, your ps5 will be whisper quiet." He then left me with a one month voucher of ps now and a 4 ft hdmi cable that is too small to hook up anything in my entertainment center.

I call BS on the claim that your 360 wasn't repaired for free after it malfunctioned after 4 months. In the US you got a one year warranty. In the EU it's even two. I never heard that someone was denied a free repair within the year of warranty so what did they say when you confronted them with the one year warranty?
I've read the link you provided and they make it crystal clear that issues with the screen cracking are handled with a free repair inside the warranty period and if you already paid for repair contact support so they can offer a solution. When you first heard them saying it's a free repair under extended warranty – what happened that they decided it's going to be a paid by you for repair and when you escelated it to a manager the manager decided to up the repair price? That's not how it works, managers are instructed to keep the customer as happy as possible and de-escalating problems so I'm genuinly questioning your statement as it sounds fishy that they know about the issue in the first place and you being only three months out of the legal warranty and they would blatantly deny you a free repair, stranger yet after they said it's going to be free of charge then suddenly saying it's going to be 460 and then after escalating it to a manager the manager ups the price to 650. That's not how Microsoft support is known at all and my mouth fell open in astonishment!
I have a Xbox avatar because I prefer the brand to PS since last gen where it was the first time I wasn't multiplatform since the mid 90s. That doesn't mean I'm an empleyee or that I defend anti-consumer stuff like your experience. But I still am not gullible as you can see since your statements have some aspects to it that are very hard to believe when you really had dealings with MS support. My experience with Sony console defects aren't as smooth and hassle free like MS offers so I was really surprised that anyone could have a negative view of the brand and how it handles warranty.

I really enjoyed waiting to get someone to call back. I then enjoyed them wasting my time promising a repair under an extended warranty then telling me to pay up and then upping the price. Yeah I really enjoyed wasting my time and I really enjoy the fact that the price of the repair is roughly 70% of the price of a thinkpad which I guarantee you will last a hell of a lot longer than a Surface Laptop. And I've run a gamut of laptops. I've used Dell Lattitudes, HP Envy's, Thinkpads all the way back to the IBM Thinkpad 560x, Compaqs, Toshibas and a NEC. Microsoft is the only laptop I've ever seen develop hairline cracks out of nowhere. The hardware is faulty. But don't take my word for it. Look up Surface Laptop issues and the hairline crack is one of the biggest issues that plagues the thing. Or how about the Surface Pros 2 not being usable as the batteries are non user replaceable? I've had one that had a battery that had no life and in turn it was no longer functional.

I absolutely didn't know consumer electronics like that were initally only a 90 days warranty, that's some BS! I did know games themselves and peripherals are only for 90 days which is too short too. But I stand corrected. Disregard my previous message about that issue.
As for the Surface warranty. You made the call of course but how the issue was handled isn't the experience I have with MS support, like at all. It almost feels like you're talking about another company.
How can we go from a CS employee saying it's a free repair under extended warranty, changing his mind a bit later (why? What happened? Logic?) to it will cost you 460 to it will cost you 650 when talking to a manager. You have to agree that sounds strange as fuck, right?

Their UX team missed the mark here, as I also came back to xbox after a long hiatus and a bit confused by the same things.
My avatar is a static picture of my old xbox 360 avatar, but most of my friends have a brand new 3D avatar that imo looks awful. I'm worried if I even click to edit my avatar I'll be locked out of ever keeping my old 360 one.
Save games are also weird, on the Xbox 360 it was pretty easy to find them and if you played a game you had not touched for some time it would have that modal popup to tell you it was checking the save games were synced with xbox live. I imagine the new xbox still does the same thing (automatically uploading/downloading saves) but it's so transparent now it's no longer obvious. I presume all my saves are getting saved in cloud storage automatically but can't find anywhere in the settings interface to list all my saves in one spot and show me which ones are/are not backed up in the cloud.
Sorry I couldn't help you op, but at least you're not alone in being confused by this.

Press the Xbox guide button on your controller – go to your profile icon and press A settings – you're now in general press A personalization – press A profile – press A customize my profile – and in that menu you can change a gamerpic or create an avatar if you don't have one.
Since the cloud handles your saves automatically you actually don't have to mess with it yourself anymore. So I would recommend leaving that alone.
But if you have to;
Individually you can still acces to delete savegames from the game icon themselves - press the three stripes button on your controller when hovering over the icon of the game in question - press A [manage game and add-ons - go to your saved data press A and you can delete savefiles.
