I have enjoyed more than a few PS5 only games so far and had an excellent time but I mostly treated the purchase like a £450 GPU that lets me play old games (PS4) at higher resolutions and framerates, while I wait for the big releases coming down the line. Since I can't upgrade my PC GPU right now (or for the foreseeable future) multi-play games will actually run a bit better on PS5 than my PC (due to having inbetween graphics presets for console only) so I will play RE8 on PS5 depending on how it runs.

If its all over the place fps wise (drops to 40 in cutscenes, etc) because they stuck with the native 4K (The chandelier in the demo causing drops to 50 fps with no enemies around doens't bode well imo) I'll do a first run on PC with settings for locked 60 (1440p + near max settings probably) then a 2nd run at 30hz with maxed out settings and native 4K.

So its just more options for playing how I want really, I can see why it'd be less attractive if you don't have a PC though.

I figure that to be the case lol. Honestly, you can go on stockx and get them at $800 (7 for digital). Otherwise they can keep trying their luck on PS Direct or wait until mid 2022 when they get in stores lol

Returnal's development likely started in 2017-2018 after Nex Machina came out. Doesn't mean Sony's practices when it comes to risking with new IP's aren't changing, they may just want to release the game instead of canning the project.

Really looks more and more like Risk of Rain 2, even some enemy designs look similar. Could be promising but it’s all a matter of how replayable it is.

Looks like the Housemarque gameplay is there. Could be a lot of fun......but the production level looks decidedly AA, not AAA.

Hard to tell as the quality of the video I watched was crap and I watched on my phone but the framerate looked better.

Definitely not the kind of game I would enjoy but gameplay looked very slick.

The price is an absolute killer, especially in Europe/UK. It looks really fun but we're talking about nearly $100 dollars for a video game, that's beyond insane. It's basically DOA until it drops to around half that.

Sony are fully funding development, it's got the PS Studios logo at the start of every trailer. So what difference does it make if they fund a studio they own or one they don't? They still threw money at something new which is the point here.

Yes, it's a Sony game. You can see the PS Studios logo on it, they paid for development, they are publishing it and presumably they own the IP.

You know what, I wasn't going to buy this game on launch but I like it even more with each trailer, screw it I am sold.

Will grab nier later and returnal on launch, housemarque is certainly worth of supporting.
