It's totally a Playstation franchise in peoples minds but in a few months you'll be able to buy and play MGS 2, 3, Peace Walker and Rising on three generations of Xbox console (Including Series X), and PlayStation won't be selling them, 1 or 4 anywhere. which one is second class for MGS then?

Xbox in Japan is only doable if they have a slim version of the series S and go full on Gamepass, PC would work too via ultimate, i don't see any other way the Switch is number 1 for a reason, it's practical and they don't like big clumsy systems that doesn't offer something new, PS2 had DVD / PS3 had blueray and the market for VHS was a nightmare back then, so it was convenient to have a console that allow you to enjoy multiple medias on it other than game in one system.

Kojima likely lost a lot of goodwill over the last few years because when he announced his partnership with Sony there was even a special video done for it. Now it seems the likes of Sony and even Stadia showed him the door. He supposedly shopped everywhere.

Highly disagree. More so with the insinuation that DS being "shit" means that Kojima isn't a total victory for Microsoft.

It's okay if you didn't like it. Maybe the game wasn't for everyone. But it's a damn blessing with can still have auteurs in this industry, using their influence to create new types of gameplay, at large scale, the likes of which we may never see otherwise.

Personally, I loved DS. Awesome game. I can see how it would disappoint a lot of gamers who wanted something a bit more traditional, but that is okay.

You can hate DS, but Kojima is still a cherished part of this industry.

You must not realize how much better the HD collection plays on Xbox than PS4/5.
Playing on PsNow is a joke compared to the optimized versions on Xbox. Especially because you can actually download and hold onto them without paying a monthly sub.

Love it or hate it, the game is pretty much one of a kind and I'm glad it exists. If Kojima continues to experiment with ideas like this his content would be perfect for a service like Game Pass. It doesn't need Sony AAA marketing hype or people pissed they burned $60+. Just a cool experience from a seasoned game designer.

That's actually a really good point. Sony may have gone about the marketing all wrong. We already know they cut hit budget during production.

Ground Zeroes was top tier game design. MGSV played brilliantly it should have never been open world and the story should have been dialed back. Quiet was hot, not gonna lie.

Whenever news like this hits, system warriors retroactively decide whatever game is connected to the news was always garbage anyways. Look at the MLB The Show threads for an example of this. My point was Death Stranding was a garbage game BEFORE Kojima "defected" to the "enemy", so no one needs to change history in this case.

I wasn’t specifically calling out just Xbox fans tbh - I recall DS threads being full of derision for Kojima, so surprised at the sudden excitement for another one of his games, regardless if it is an Xbox exclusive or not. In truth, this is just another pissing contest.

Honestly I don't think it's necessarily excitement for another of his games. Just the mere news of Kojima doing something with Xbox is enough to get both camps riled up (for obvious reasons).
