Actually one of my fears was that a 825gb SSD would be way too small considering my 1 TB pro was filled up rather quickly. But thanks to the magicians at sony, ps5 version of games are about half the size of their HDD ps4 counter parts. Control, crash, are examples of that. Which means you can argue a TB may be an okay option. I’m pretty shocked my ps5 isn’t full yet considering I have a dozen games or so installed atm.

Looks like both of you need to read quarter reports. Also, as of Dec. 31st, Sony sold 4.5 mil. PS5s, in same time frame 8 years ago Sony sold 4.2 mil. PS4s

PS5 (and Series consoles) have been out for less than 6 months. Are being severely impacted by Covid, supply issues. Switch already went thru this last year. And since they are on an older technology arent as effected.
Context just seems to matter less n less these days.

They also are turning around and selling them to people that want them so either way they are being bought by people who wanted them. Yeah, Switch is basically available everywhere, while PS5 isn't. Of course Switch sold better For what it is worth, PS5, despite supply issues, is still selling well. At least 300k in Feb. For the record, PS4 in Feb. 2014 have sold in around 285k.
Days Gone sold well on PS4, yet Sony didn't announce numbers. :/
You'll see also Miles Morales and Demons high on charts on PS Store for March. No need to worry.

Demand plays a part as well. In a different situation where Switch peaked in its 2nd or 3rd yesr, it could have plenty of supply and not be doing as well as PS5. But as it is Switch is peaking much later than most platforms (especially Nintendo ones).

PS4 sold in 4.5M at the end of Decembr but as of December 28th sold though 4.2M.
These 4.5M of PS5 weren't only sold-in, but also sold-through (sold to consumers). We knew it was sold out in minutes worldwide and in interviews later Ryan said it sold 4.5M until the end of December and outsold the PS4 as the best selling console ever during its first quarter.
