I know people are burnt out on Battle Royale games, but I actually like when companies put a different twist on things regardless of genre. Casting materia spells and giant summons along with FF enemy monsters on the battlefield is a potentially cool concept and already better than the run-of-the-mill BR shooter.

They want to follow the trends instead of build new exciting worlds. I bet they want the Fortnite money. I want to relive Chrono Trigger, but I’ve never asked myself if I wanted Fortnite in the world of Final Fantasy? Why not just sell your characters off as Fortnite characters? I can’t tell you a single Final Fantasy fan I’ve ever known who said this world should be battle royal? Why not an RTS or FPS? Fortnite is still going to be the #1 battle royal game regardless of what someone else makes.

Same here. They’re swimming in it. I bet their entire board of execs could retire today if they wanted to. The invention of video games is fascinating, but what legacy does Fortnite leave? How many IP’s can be licensed for your online third person shooter? Fortnite is still a living breathing game. They’re always working on new stuff for it. It’s just not all that exciting. It’s just grabbed the attention of the kids of today. How can Square think that this works? Are their staff hooked on Fortnite?
