Star Wars Jedi fallen order is the second best star wars game i have ever played

JokerMM

Gay porn is where it's at.
KOTOR remains supreme, but fuck me is Jedi fallen order close a second, i just finished the game and holy shit it was so goddamn good, i wish it had some fan service and was a bit longer but it was damn near everything i wanted in a SW game
curious if anyone thinks the same? also it's canon right?

Probably fourth in my list after the kotors and the mmo, they really could of cut out some of the back tracking on planets, other than that it's a great entry for the series and I hope they make a sequel... with grogu 🤣

2nd ? no
in top 10 yes
i put all old republic games above it for sure and most dark force/Jedi knight too.

I liked it a lot. As mentioned, the backtracking got a bit old at certain points. For me, it was the main character jank that bothered me most. Just move Cal quickly side to side...it’s not pretty..like a puppet on speed.

But holy smokes is Cal Kestis, and his portrayal in this game, light years better than Prequel trilogy Anakin. His bond with the little droid was outstanding.

I’ll be there for the sequel. Just hope they don’t rush it out in order to capitalize on the success of the first. Polish it up.

It should have been more combat focused and less about puzzles and structured more like a souls game. That’s what they were going for but then they threw in other genres too and it took away from the fact that you’re an underpowered Jedi which could have made for an awesome progression. Also, the first few missions should have been about full on lightsaber construction not just upgrades and colors.

It wasn't all that bad, but man if it wasn't janky... Didn't really like the controls.

I’d put it one, followed by KOTOR, then the force Unleashed. It’s such a great game.like to add Rogue Squadron too.

Nothing beats the finely-tuned precision lightsaber combat of Obi-Wan.

Looks “smashy”, janky even, not so sure it aged well. Fallen order’s more down to earth comparatively, it is slower but makes more sense in a dark soul clone style game and even bouncing back lasers is a reflex to time it right.

Unless my memory of that game is way off, I’ll admit I have not touched it for a god knows how long, but that gif is not helping with the impression.

My GotY in 2019 and one of the best SW games, I did enjoy KotOR more, but still great

No where's my new Galactic Battlegrounds by Creative Assembly Lucasfilm?

Obi-Wan was seen as a bad game when it was released. I’m pretty sure the other guy was being sarcastic.

Yea,it was pretty damn good.
It's a shame it took EA almost the entire gen to get a single player Star Wars game out,but hey, that's EA for you I guess.

1. KOTOR
2. SWTOR
3. Jedi Academy (or was it Jedi Knight 2) whichever one had the team duels.
4. Fallen Order
5. Yes BattleFront 2 made my top 5. After EA took their medicine, the game is actually really good. They just lost major points for greed.

I'd personally prefer a Force Unleashed 3 (with updated play mechanics of course..) Fallen Order never massively appealed to me, and even with the chance to download it on Xbox Game Pass I didn't even think twice about if I wanted to check it out....I'd rather check out Shadow of the Tomb-Raider on PSN...

The worst Star Wars game I've ever played. Simply getting from A - B was a masterclass in the travesty that follows abysmal level design.

I enjoyed the game and hope the sequel is bigger badder and uncut. I’ve flirted with playing KOTOR through BC. Is it so outdated it would be a struggle?

I restarted it on PC the other day, after playing the first two planets on PS4 and then shelving the game. What stood out for me a lot was how illogical the map layouts are. Like, in the prologue, where you walk left and right over steel beams that are hundreds of meters up in the sky, jump on metal gratings, then jump up from platform to platform, and between platforms you casually hang on with one hand, pull a huge lever, jump five meters up or to the left to the next platform like it's nothing. Like, how is he so strong? Why would that place have this layout and how would people move around the whole day without dying on their first shift? It doesn't make sense, and that stuff always breaks immersion for me.

I really enjoyed the game.

Gameplay is superb, but yeah that backtracking is hard. But rewarding to contiunue and wrap them up.

Hope a DLC or a follow-up game comes out.

And what about Squadrons without VR? Still worth playing?

It's okay, but really shines in VR. It's just zipping under a star destroyer in an Xwing seeing the exact size George Lucas vision is mind-blowing. Not only that, I'm a much better pilot in VR, it's not even remotely close. I notice when I switch back to non-VR that I can barely see what I'm aiming at.

Bro I totally agree it was such an unexpectedly good game, even the story was ok, something that is always hit or miss in SW games.

It's the best Star Wars game I've played in years. I don't think Fallen Order beats out Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy in terms of exploration and weapon and enemy variety, but it's lightsaber combat is far superior to the clunky combat of both games.

I'm still amazed that a game this good came out from the shithouse that is EA.

This. Cal was a great character and his story of tragedy and loss and his journey to overcome it was the highlight of the game. It's the classic Hero's Journey, which should be no surprise since this is Star Wars after all.

I found it super forgettable really.
It's not bad, I had fun at some points, but overall it's just very, I don't know, "meh", nothing really stands out, it's not something I will remember foundly, just very forgettable.

I also hated how bad the progression was. They made it with a "metroidvania" progression, but I think it really didn't work, it was super frustrating having so many paths locked, it wasn't fun having to do so much backtracking, come back in the same linear dungeons doing the same paths over and over. And the gameplay only becomes better super late in the game, there are some upgrades that make the game a lot more fun but you only unlock them like, in the last one or two hours of the game...

I think the game would have been a lot better if it directly started with all the gameplay available from the start, without all the backtracking, and therefore with all the level design being made accordingly using the full range of gameplay features from the start. The platform part in Kashyyyk was one of the best part in the game in my opinion, but it only really happens there and nowhere else, it would have been much better if all these moves and level design was there from the start.

It kind of reminded me of Ori and the blind forest, where I had the same frustration, the gameplay became amazing only at the end of the game, and then it was over and you couldn't make any use of that great gameplay, the game ends when it starts to become good.

The combats were also pretty bad, especially with how the Lightsaber just felt like random stick, having to strike multiple hits without cutting anything didn't feel like a Lightsaber, I think Jedi Academy worked a lot better for this, all basics ennemies were killed with single strikes, but the game was made with this in mind, so it wasn't too easy either, there were just more ennemies being more powerful, but it made you feel like a Jedi with a lightsaber.

Also special mention to the infinite jump glitch, if you simply press RB / R1 and jump at the same time, you can jump indefinitely in the air, it's super easy to do like if it was part of the gameplay, and I really had to force myself not using it, but I will admit that I did use it a few times when trying to complete maps and I was tired of going through the same linear paths over and over lol.

I'm currently playing it and loving it.

I'd love to see this team take on Bounty Hunter. I love that game on PS2.

Nobody mentioned Episode 1 Racer in their lists? Sad! Also I agree on the backtracking straining patience.
