It’s convenient, I guess. But I can’t ever see streaming ever replacing console gaming, mostly because good internet isn’t accessible to everyone. If I can buy a cheap console and some games to play offline, then I’m pretty much set.

Seeing streamers like Rerez who love to post "loolz Stadia is teh fail" videos queue up for Crowd Play games last week tells me that Stadia is starting to turn the corner in terms of public perception. Long way to go though.

I was supporting the streamer who was streaming at the time. When I did join the game the input lag killed me in seconds.

It's already on the last place of the Google Apps menu on google.com.

It will drop out next year from it and the service will be shut down latest in 2022.

I... actually kinda like Stadia.

Sure, it's a completely inferior product to "local" gaming on consoles or PC. Their pricing model got infinitely better now that you don't have to buy a subscription AND purchase games (it's now either/or, like it should have been from the beginning). Just this week they started rolling out direct-to-Youtube game streaming. With my $10/month Stadia Pro subscription (which I cancel / re-subscribe if there aren't any games I'm interested in coming out similar to Humble Choice) I have a library of about 50 games on the platform now that typically grows by 6-8 new games per month. The platform is starting to get some decent sales - I bought the $100 Borderlands 3 edition yesterday for $11 which is far cheaper than it's been anywhere else. I got Tomb Raider reboot for free ($10 coupon for being a member, game discounted to $9.99) and Crayta also a few weeks ago.

My phone paired with a Razer Kishi is an excellent way for me to play Stadia games on the go - or at least where I have wifi. Personally I'd compare it more with the Switch than anything else, and honestly the games look and run better. Even when I'm at home and have access to other consoles, it's easy to pop Stadia open and play while my wife is watching TV or whatever else. So it personally meets my needs.
You're wrong , you could always buy games without sub , blame the marketing for being not clear enough

I completely forgot this even exists.

I seriously doubt they can survive for long if they don't get killer exclusives. Why the fuck would anyone buy into a platform that only gets third party games?

I have said it before but Google killed this service by letting Microsoft snatch Zenimax away. Can you imagine Stadia having all those studios develop exclusive IP's? It would have been terrible but I would have at least tried it out for Doom Next and whatever else they are working on.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Were you around in the beginning? Back then, you couldn't even access the Stadia storefront without subscribing to their $9.99 / month plan (or buying the Stadia Premiere Edition from their store for $129). That was from November of last year when Stadia launched until April of this year. It wasn't a marketing thing, but it surely put a sour taste in a lot of people's mouths as they wouldn't have had nearly the bad reputation they do now (I don't think) if purchases weren't gated behind a subscription.

Stadia is the typical experimental google service that will quietly be shelved in some years time and most people won't realize it. I don't know if it will die in 2021 but I don't see it being successful with all the next gen console hype, and that doesn't even include the hype that will occur if Nintendo were to drop a new or upgraded Switch model in 2021.

I think Stadia would have been a better initial success if they released an actual physical hardware unit to go along with their controller, not just bundling it with their chromecast. It should have been a Stadia branded box with controller, something that is easier to market as a "game console" to the market with a low price tag. A lot of people still don't understand game streaming but they do understand physical hardware.

Overall there's just no reason to bother with Stadia. As soon as xCloud, PS Now, and eventually Nintendo get their cloud gaming organized, Stadia will be dead in the water and forgotten. Unless Stadia gets serious about gaming and does some major acquisition (like buying a SEGA and making it exclusive to the platform) there's nothing there.

Cyberpunk on Stadia will be one of the first available version of the game (one hour left)

(Fanboys from both sides.)

PS5SX being out of stock, if Stadia gives us a decent port, Google could be back in the game for years to come.

On the other hand, if base PS4 is beating Stadia then it will be complicated for Google to recover.

I think the Stadia version will be on par with PS4 pro which will give Google some air. A little bit...

You can play Cyberpunk for 60 bucks. (The bundle has Cyberpunk, a Chromecat ultra and the controller)

No console, no high end PC.

'Stadia is the cheapest way to play Cyberpunk.

I picked up borderlands 3 and all its expansions for $1 on stadia yesterday. Grand total of money I've spent on stadia: $1.

The potential feature to play multiple instances of a game in split-screen/couch co-op were were what made the service interesting.

Stadia isn't even that bad, it's probably the best technologically out of the streaming services but the execution is awful that's all Google needs to change and I see no reason for it not to be successful.

Stadia was pure garbage at launch.
A few games, subscription only, no Samsung/IOS and Geforce arrived with tons of games already in our pockets...

One year later, publishers removed most of their games from Geforce Now and Stadia improved quite a bit(demos, free Bomberman VS 40 bucks on console, free stadia version...)

I still prefere Geforce Now but Stadia is getting pretty decent. The library is still a little weak but the technology is fantastic and hundreds of games are coming.

Tons of Cyberpunk streaming all over Youtube 30 seconds after the launch.

You can choose between 30fps or 60fps in the options from what I saw on Reddit.

Stadia should do well. You get an experience that will probably be superior to a Series S for free if you have a good connection. GAF is just full of weirdos.

It's better than a lot of people think. The two biggest problems currently are the lack of games and the varying quality of the ports.

The Division 2 on stadia feels locally run and has cross platform play with PC, so if you're a PC gamer and have friends that you'd like to play with that likely isn't going to buy a good gaming pc, if they buy the stadia version (you don't need a membership to play on 1080p), they can play with you on any device they own.

Then again, there are some downright awful ports where the input latency bounces around all over the place, but those have been the exception for me from the games that I've played on it. Overall, I like it.

Double dipped on CP2077 for Stadia, had used the Pro trial so I got the £10 discount. If the performance sucks I got a chromecast ultra and a controller for £40, if not well I have those things and Cyberpunk at 60fps too.

I first saw Stadia as pure evil since I am all for physical games.

A friend of mine come back to gaming thanks to it. It’s a nice way to get to gaming without buying hardware.
And actually I might take it eventually for some PC games (actually for Baldur’s Gate 3). I hate gaming on PC essentially because you have to take care of it etc… So Stadia sounds like a nice alternative, I launch my game and it’s working properly.
Also my friend is fully satisfied in term of performance. And I am really not demanding for graphics, framerate, etc… I see all lag input/unplayable complaint but I don’t give them much credit due to my expectations for graphics and performance (It’s like when some say 30 FPS or 1080p is unplayable, but for me it’s perfectly fine)

I voted for kinda of successful.

Lucky bastards!
