Let's be real here.

We can cherry pick about SJW reviewers and all that stuff but let's not ignore the reviews that gave the game high scores despite the amount of bugs.

I think it's safe to say the sjw and bug-excuse reviews even each other out

Dude you seem to be trying soooo hard to hate this game

Maybe he saw some NPC spawning out of thin air or some floating gun, but he didnt give a fuck because he was having too much fun

A review score is all about the sum of the experience parts.

the REEEEs win when we don't keep the pointing out how retarded they are to the thread strictly about that.

It's like ISIS checking twitter right after they vest up a market

Yeah watch this:

And that's fucking IGN...

I usually disagree with IGN so this is weird lol.

Anyway sounds like they went with having a shorter main quest line to encourage multiple playthroughs with varying outcomes and divergent paths based on your decisions in-game. I'm with it. Sounds kind of refreshing actually.

The thing about the glitches, if these are graphical and not game breaking such as crap like this...

Uh....I'm ok with that. It will get fixed.
Seems like a lot of it is like that. Also, I'm getting conflicting words that these reviews were and weren't with the day one patch.

One reviewer said his review was with the day one patch but the day one patch is CONFIRMED to not be up on GoG, Steam, Xbox or Playstation so I don't know how he got it. I think he confused day one patch and the patch a week ago or so.

That is basically why people hate tearing.
It makes games unplayable if happens regularly.

I take bad framerate over these.

Some nerds on a gaming forum aint everyone bro, plenty gonna play without waiting
Sorry it was a typo... I meant PS4 :(

Sure.

But if any of them use the words 'yikes' or 'problematic' they can fuck the fuckity off again.

I read that as Steve Martin ranting at the airline clerk in PT&A. Would recommend.

OT: As someone else said, this is shaping up much like how Witcher 3 was at launch. And I am WAY okay with that.

The reviews are really good. To be honest, the years leading up to this I was expecing a 10/10 games, but I think in the last year we expected this was not going to be the case. Don't get me wrong, these are still great figures.

And about Resetera, take is at face value and enjoy that circus for what it is.

Well it is not like anybody will play this game on PS4.
Eveybody is waiting the PS5 next-gen patch.
I don't even have PS5 yet and I am waiting for the next gen patch. Will wait and see if Pro runs it well, if it does then I may as well jump in before next gen patch.

Yeah I know you did a tag but didn’t expect an actual real life spoiler in the review thread

I wasn't sure...it's from one of the first paragraphs of a major review, so I thought it could be posted here. Please remove it if it's not appropriate, mods.

The shorter main story doesn’t bother me. Witcher 3 main story is about 50 hours and a large section of it felt like going round in circles (novigrad) and could’ve done with thinning out.

Sounds like side quests are plentiful and just as good if not better.

Ugh. yeah, there was a lot of needless busy work going on when there didn't need to be. If Cyberpunk streamlines that a bit, it'll be a huge improvement.

yep. I am perfectly happy with shorter games. i WANT to play these games multiple times to see all outcomes. Do multiple builds and just plain enjoy playing through the game again, but these games are getting sooo long that i really dont want to spend another 50-100 running through the same shit again.

demon souls is a great example. took me around 30 hours to beat the game. i have since then beaten it over 4 more times with different builds and NG+. I always used to do two runs of Mass Effect back in the day. I miss those days.

There are definitely some "progressive" reviews in there bringing the score down. You see what's going on at Resetera, to these people this is basically like the Trump game.

Had a look at PCGamer review guy, and he retweets socialist and communist stuff like a true comrade. The Gamespot reviewer has pronouns in her bio and spends a lot of time going on about trans issues, like that matters in this game. Then she doesn't like that the story doesn't stop to make some kind of anti-capitalist critique. But Cyberpunk always just takes the fucked up corporate nature of the world as inevitable and just a fact of the future. It doesn't care to explain or critique it, that's not what cyberpunk is about. It's not activist literature, it's science fiction.

Fucking *thank you*

I swear half these people have never seen a Cyberpunk movie or played a game in the genre in their lives.

The entire genre is built around critique of unhinged corporate/government handholding that destroys the lower/middle classes and lets the rich live (literally, see: Alita, Blade Runner, etc.) above the lower classes...

Why the fuck does anyone need exposition on a genre that has had its roots established for decades? It's like seeing Star Wars and being pissed they didn't explain why every city/planet isn't some futuristic equality utopia.

This is a 10/10 game with a shit ton of bug that will be ironed out which brings the score down

I am a completionist , if i enjoy your world you have created i will spend hours exploring and doing every Side Quest i can do before progressing the main Story.

This as much more room for multiple Playthroughs with diffrent builds whihc Witcher 3 lacked TBH

that reviewer is an embarrassment. watch her review of days gone and see how truly awful she really is.
One of the reasons why I left Gamespot, (not going to say the true reason). I understand the score was knocked, due to the bugs, hoping that day 1 patch will fix it up.

Just how Lost Odyssey was reviewed because they played it without the day 1 patch

The mother fucker seems to be more patched than Adams so far, so that's probably an easy mistake to make.

Overall sounds great.
I guess there is some positive aspect in not having any next gen hardware to play this on right now. By the time I have it I hope a lot of these bugs and glitches have been fixed.

Also, as someone who has been wanting RPG's to get shorter instead of longer over the years I think a shorter than expected story mode sounds great. That's really the way it should be, a fun story mode with decent length. And then 100+ hours worth of optional content.

I enjoyed the polygon review, it's hilarious. It almost reads like someone trying to make a parody of a Polygon review.

How about asking Era why Drunckmann did not give the Naughty Dog's president position to a trans or minority person? Fetid hypocrites supporting a Caucasian male! Down to all white people in the world! I can't stand the rhetoric that if you like a game but does not to get involved in politics or other issues you are automatically labeled as a hater or phobic. Please anyone that has a time machine take me back to the 90's or 80's. I am so sick with these social justice warriors' crusades. They will never be happy with anything.

Any good PC performance reviews/breakdowns?

I'm wondering what I can expect with my current builds. I'm tempted to put together an entirely new system just to be able to play this game with all of the eye candy turned on, but it honestly doesn't feel like the right time.

After putting roughly 45 hours into Cyberpunk 2077, I was able to beat it seven different ways, including three drastically different final missions and five wildly different but satisfying endings after them (plus one similar one) – and I still have plenty more to do and lots of mysteries to hunt down. The more time you put in, the richer the payoff you’ll get in the end.

When the hell are we getting something about how the game runs on Ps5?

This. All I need to know now that it's clear it's a great game, bugs aside, is how it runs on PS5 and XSX so I can decide which to buy. Not a big rush since I opted to go digital for this (disc will be worth peanuts to resell by the time both DLCs are out and I'm done with them) and wouldn't have time to dive into in fully until the weekend. So suppose I can wait for user impressions if there aren't reviews of the next gen console versions or comparison videos etc. before Friday afternoon.

Pretty much in line with what I expected after hearing CDPR talking about the quest structure. And it's probably something that most reviews won't even factor in, especially if they've had to rush to get the review out

Gotta say my hyped has lowered quite a bit by all mentions of glitches and bugs. Kinda used to a buggy and janky game after Control and AC: Valhalla. Control with the map bug and some audio bug and Valhalla with tons of weird glitches.

Sounds like we're in for an incredible experience with this game, judging by the YongYea & Laymen Review.
It seems they recommended waiting for the numerous bugs to be patched though, so at this point I might just wait for that. I want the most immersive experience possible.
