Well, epic win for the smaller GPU would Guess? Now fix the 60hrz "problem" and we can all play at the same fps and enjoy this gen. this must me a developer thing cuz most PS4 games are capped at 60 so it can be done?
Haha, this is a massive win for Sony, the far weaker machine is punching well above its weight, where are those massive differences.
Not only that you get to have the added advantages of sony's new controller, there ssd and sound engine.
This is not what xbox fans wanted lol, it shows the ps5 is the better-engineered machine by far.
And this is only the start, wheres that crow, its time to start eating
Pretty much same on both.
Some frame dips on one and not the other dependant on mode.
All in all who cares.
Both platforms will perform pretty much identically.
Only childish fan boys will care for the difference.
They know that, they are just scrambling for what they can, like the cherry picked screen shot which will become 'fact' that PS5 runs the game twice as fast. How does it crush it ? Ps5 is underperforming with RT on , and only has a real advantage at 120 hz which almost no users have TVs for! Why would you ever use 120 frames if you can have 4K / 60???
The Eurogamer article was written by Digital Foundry...
Xbox seems to have a consistent - if very small - advantage in three of the four modes, while its inconsistency in the high frame-rate mode is puzzling to say the least.
Double negatives are making this thread a lot more civil than one would expect.
Im actually hoping for more of this so people will just chill out and stop sniping each other.
XSX has an advantage here pretty much equal to its TF advantage.
PS5 loads faster by just under its throughput advantage.
So everyone is on the chill because everyone is winning by about what they expected to win by.
XSX has an advantage here pretty much equal to its TF advantage.
It does have significantly more power. And the load times advantages are diminishing returns. Because the Xbox isn't slow itself. Its like 3 seconds vs 2 seconds.
Lol NXGamer, the guy who said Xbox’s APIs are a mess and no games will have ray tracing on release? The guy who is a Sony fan?
Conspiracy theories already?
What do you mean?
There is no option in the settings menu to output at 60Hz?
Rather have a perfectly smooth experience than the fps bouncing around esp without VRR.
Yes, when SSD5 doesn't fall to 46 fpsSo... the huge "on paper spec advantage" stayed on the paper, huh?
Are there any bad news for PS5 that I"m not aware?Damn, Xbox fans and Sony fans are having a hard time today.

Your still guessing as per original quote. You don't know X ran into problems with Rops its just a guess.I'm not guessing about the ROPS advantage on PS5
Valhalla shoot out tomorrow is going to be very interesting. If the sub 10% difference holds it means that they're essentially in the same class.
Haaa that was know few days ago.Not having a 60hz option.
The fight will be around screen tearingValhalla shoot out tomorrow is going to be very interesting. If the sub 10% difference holds it means that they're essentially in the same class.
they say in the video that the jumps are so bad on x in 120 FPS mode that vrr can’t even save it and still noticeably jump.
Haaa that was know few days ago.
There is no option to chance the 120Hz mode to 60Hz in that game if you are using a 120Hz TV.

Oh wait someone lied about the 20% difference and now we are supposed believe its “probably over the 5-8%“ as fact ?There is no number but it is probably over the 5-8% they called small in the Normal mode.
It is by fair the mode with the biggest discrepancy in performance.
To be fair, i'd def pick the PS5 version over XSX if XSX has screen tearing, which it seems to, in the cutscenes anyway. The fight will be around screen tearing
Assassins Creed is showing similar "closer than expected" results between X and PS5.
The funny thing is people are screaming parity but the consoles definitely seem to behave differently and oddly at times, at least suggesting some individual optimization.
Pretty sure that's Capcom's fault, not the XSX's.Xbox high frame rate mode looks to have a lower average FPS than the native 4K mode? Sounds broken
And yet XSX won 3 out of the 4 modes, and the 3 modes that the vast majority of gamers will be using. And thats with XSX dev tools that are 'way behind PS5 dev tools'.
That is specific to the High Frame-Rate Mode. So, only one of those version can run locked at 60.
A lot of conjecture from Jonh to try to explain the obvious. To be expected.
I don’t have a ps5 yet, but there is no way in the game to limit it, and the ps5 apparently can’t limit it at a system level according to John, unlike the XSX
I think is becouse is a modified gameIt really doesn't. Average, per DF, is 8% (highest difference in all modes). TF difference is around 15%.
It's just a poorly optimized game.
The Series X version is locked at 60fps going by digital foundry’s video, so that makes it harder to work out differences.Valhalla shoot out tomorrow is going to be very interesting. If the sub 10% difference holds it means that they're essentially in the same class.
Abit harsh NXgamer is very good and it's a part time gig for him.Lol NXGamer, the guy who said Xbox’s APIs are a mess and no games will have ray tracing on release? The guy who is a Sony fan?

This is satire post , right ? can't tellExactly.
More interestingly they say settings etc are identical, so the cutscenes and like for like scenes tell us that the XSX is clearly better. Plus this is a developer who has a history of not caring about Xbox versions, so the machine just brute forces its way to the top.
One all the RDNA2 hardware advantages start it's going to pull further away.
That is specific to the Performance mode.
Yes one of the version can lock the Performance Mode framerate to 60fps but both consoles dips below 60fps in that mode so it won't be locked.

Maybe it wasn’t DF, but there’s an XB1/1x/ss/sx analysis vid that’s got a thread on here.DF has an AC video? And both should be dynamic res which should be easily measured
