Thought it might be an idea to start getting a full list of all games that will be available for both platforms at launch. We can track and update it as time goes by. All previous generation games are assumed to be BC (with boost/scaling), the below list only highlights those with an actual nextgen patch.

Add your games below. They must be confirmed to be available on the platform at launch (e.g. TLoU II may appear on the PS5 but it might come later as remastered until confirmed as day one). This is purely so we can see what's available day one for everyone. We know the next CoD and Fifa will be there similarly but wait until we get confirmation of enhancements etc

Cool thread. Can't wait to see if Sony will have the consciousness of making games like Horizon and Death Stranding cross gen on PS5..... since both are going to get enhanced releases on PC. Hopefully they are cross buy too.

At the moment it's not confirmed to be Xbox Series X exclusive and the quote is 'will be available for Xbox'. So playing it cautiously with that one, though they did hint they will all scale up and down, which means it can only ever be 'enhanced'. If we get summat concrete though I'll update.

“As our content comes out over the next year, two years, all of our games, sort of like PC, will play up and down that family of devices,” explained Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studio. “We want to make sure that if someone invests in Xbox between now and [Series X] that they feel that they made a good investment and that we’re committed to them with content.”

I think "launch window" games would be fine, rather than strictly day 1.

Good idea for a thread. Hope Cyberpunk PS5 is a free upgrade as well.

Even though it doesn't look like the best game (no shit), Orphan of the Machine is supposed to be available at launch for the XSX. There were also a couple of new PS5 games that I've seen passing, maybe someone can mention them so they can be added.

I dont like the criteria to separate games in such categories.
In example, Godfall is going to be released on PS5/PC and its "Next Gen".
I mean, its quite a given that a game like Rainbow Six Quarantine will be orders of magnitude more advance, technically speaking.
Kind of make the distinction useless.

Updated the list with official confirmation and/or exact dates now so dropped a few of the maybe's off. Post any I've missed, I may have missed some Xbox stuff as I'm not an xbox owner. Anything that runs on native BC/scaling isn't fit for the list. This is purely for day one games that give you a reason for owning a next gen consoles.

Forza Horizon 4 at 4k 60fps with Ultra settings IS a day one reason!

If they have specific updates from devs I'm happy to add them, I just think hardware/emulation scaling is different to an actual patch. Basically that 'optimised for XSX' but at launch?

The Call of Duty details sounds as if you have to buy the Ultimate Edition on PS4 to get the Next-Gen PS5 version
But you can flat out buy just the PS5 version which is cheaper then the Ultimate Edition.

man if assassins' creed wasn't 4k 60 on series xI may have passed up on it, but ya there isn't much in terms of exclusive content on xbox series x. Hardware is solid. Just taking time for games. with ps they have games but we don't know if hardware is solid. I'm going to pre order on Tuesday. I hope crossfire is launch too. it's on the series x homepage so I would think so.

Im still curious on a lot of things.

are they updating the achievement system.
What plans do they have for 2021
how much is memory expansion

ps5
why has nobody seen the hardware?
Why havn't they shown ssd loading demos like xbox
whats going on with bc and enhancements
how much will a new ssd cost
How loud is the system
will old headsets work with ps5
Why no teardown on ps5

Like I said above I'm going to pre order on tuesday but I am curious to get this info first and see some DF videos
