It's post-covid19 lockdown so all the major hurdles the studios went through have past now, that's not to say another wave is incoming (I hope not). But with that said, Santa Monica still decided to slap the 2021 date regardless of the covid19 struggles so they must be confident about that date. This is just my guess but yeah I won't be surprised if the game gets delayed till early 2021, I really hope not though.
I think part of it depends on when Horizon ships. If thats early to mid 2021, then God of War can be fall 2021. But if Horizon slips, then God of War will get pushed back too.

And I'm a bit bummed we haven't seen a long gameplay demo of Horizon 2 yet. It's cross gen, so its such a less exciting game now.

Sony is risking crippling Horizon as an beloved IP. Lazy shit PC port, cross-gen held back sequel, inevitable second PC port.

A far cry from the 2017 hype and love for that 1st game.

No way there's ever a PS5 Horizon game built around the SSD. Hard drive game design for that game franchise, forever.

I can log into GAME.
Sorry, this product is currently out of stock, but might be available in store
Get fucked, GAME.

In addition, PS5 price reveal tweet got 240k likes just 1 hour after PS5 showcase ended. So, around 10k more than XSX/S tweet which was tweeted on Sep. 9th. Anyway, now is over 310k. Yep, PS5 is priced really well

Looking at Twitter Insights representation of PS5 vs. XsX hovers around 2.5:1. So should reach this interaction ratio. Everything under 500k likes could point a lower brand impact than usual and at least inside the Twitter bubble to a brand weakaning. But there is still buzz going on and I don't expect any "looses".

Demon souls looked amazing it looked better than project awakening and that was a really good bench mark for next-gen.

When PS4 released they announced it sold 1 million units at launch and now with all these pre orders sold already and demand at an all time high, I really do wonder how many they will sell this time around come launch day.

Dang PlayStation only fans are breaking down... it's a very complex day to see MS was upfront and honest and Playsation weaponized the fans with FUD.

I really don't see the big deal. The best looking game we've seen (Demon Souls) is a ps5 exclusive..
I don't know why people are mad?

It's not like they were tricked into buying a ps5 and are now stuck with it or like Spiderman or Horizon FW suddenly got downgraded?
Where is the issue?

If we were talking about the $70 price I could get it.

You guys been looking at the empty half of the cup. If those are cross-gen and they are the best looking in the gaming industry so far.

Imagine what PS5-only would look like? I mean they're 100% held back, no doubt about it, but this is cross-gen done right. This is Miles Morales on PS4 Pro, not bad, but quite the jump:

We'll see the PS4 version that will make it clear. Personally, this makes me excited about TLOU2/GOT upgrades!
You are right, in the personal I am tend to be a pessimistic person, for example if someone told me has diseases I will ask
just after that "how many months do you have before die?".

I am not agree with some things Playstation is doing about some games but at least I can talk about big games in its side
meanwhile in the other side well they still talking about BC.

It's not that they are following MS. It's that it doesn't make sense for Sony to ignore 110-120 million PS4s. No studio ignores the giant past gen base until maybe a few years in.

There might be an occasional game here and there, but not the whole bag.

However, what Sony did was misleading (not surprising). PRing about generations and recent promoted games as solely PS5 only to quietly have them announced as PS4 too (in a PR article, as opposed to videos like today) is shady as hell.
Don't forget MS flip-flopping about supporting current gen and Xbox One being absent on next gen game trailers, both companies have been misleading.

Am I misremembering or wasn't the PS5 doing the larger blu ray variant something you guys talked about in here? BDXL -R I think.

thats what that is. UHDBD = BDXL (really just BD-TL)

BDXL = 100 GB. (PS5)
BD / BD-DL = 25/50 GB. (PS4/XBOX ONE)

Xbox has never specified what disc format Series X will use. But all signs indicate same 50 GB as Xbox One.

Just pulled the trigger on a Sony X900H 55, I caught it with a 30$ off coupon and I had a bunch of cashback. Now to get lucky with a PS5 preorder. I still cant decide between disc and digital. I have a gaming PC so I am use to all digital but the PS store deals versus physical is still lacking imo.

Seems like it has lots of ventilation.

And....?? Not saying this is you, but I keep seeing a bunch of people online pointing this out like it's a BAD THING somehow? Even if it's not really needed for actual heat dissipation and is over-used...there's no negative as far as I'm aware to OVER-VENTILLATING a piece of electronics. If anything, you get more airflow then you actually need which can make the product more resilient against heavy dust or being shoved into areas that don't have good airflow.

Just puzzled me to see people pointing this out like it's some kind of negative. You know what? Regardless of how many ventilation holes this thing has, it's still going to be BLAZING FAST and have tons of great games available for it.

I was saying like it's a good thing. Plenty of ventilation will allow the air to circulate better and cool down the components. I would be worried if there was barely any.

Ah! Roger that. Like I said...wasn't finger pointing at you but I have, oddly enough...seen a lot of tweets etc., from folks acting like this is bad somehow. Anything to support confirmation bias, I guess! :)

I can pretty much guess what they are saying.

OMG the console has a ton of ventilation. That must mean it overheats and will suffer similar issues like the 360!!!!!

I'm pretty sure I'm not far off.

I think you nailed it.

I know the PS5 doesn't have the same cooling system as the XSX. But that's probably because Sony went with a different form factor and had to design it around a console like design. All I can see is that compared to the PS4 and PS4 Pro there's a crap load of ventilation both front and back and on both sides of the system. I'm really curious to see what it looks like.

what games will you get with your PS5?

I will for sure get Demons Souls and Spider Man. Might get Destruction All-Stars but not positive on that yet. I'm for sure getting Demons Souls and Spider Man for DAY ONE. Others I'll probably add.

Me too. That's why I'm curious (not desperate for, but curious) about a tear down. Slim, design like that and needing extra cooling for the possible addition of ANOTHER very high speed/high heat generating SSD drive in the expansion slot...things like that. I'm just curious to see the cooling system and it's always neat to see how these electronics are sandwiched together. Fascinating stuff and often a VERY overlooked aspect of electronics design. You could have the most powerful and innovative tech, even great cooling, but with the kind of design you'd probably get if I had designed the thing would probably kill it. The right design and layout on the other hand, can greatly influence the reliability of the product in the end. Will be cool to see!

But more than anything right now...I want to see the UI and even more than that, I want to see some examples of how quickly this thing will turn on and launch games, levels, etc. Start showing off how fast and powerful this thing is! That's one advantage I think Sony has this time, even if the XSX ends up having some graphical advantages- the PS5 will still LOOK faster and 'more powerful' to the average consumer if they see it being basically 'instant on' and if games load up in a blink versus (a still very fast) several seconds on the Microsoft side. So let's see how this thing really looks and works in action!

Just preordered the DE on amazon (Germany), hopefully I will get one at launch.
Pretty hyped about Demon's Souls, looked really good.

I didn't want to preorder at first because I never saw the teardown video. But hopefully that will also come out soon and if I waited any longer I am pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to get one at launch anymore.
(It's 4:39am, I hope I didn't make any mistakes writing this, not a native speaker)

I don't like the 80€ prices btw...
