Imagine what PS5-only would look like? I mean they're 100% held back, no doubt about it, but this is cross-gen done right. This is Miles Morales on PS4 Pro, not bad, but quite the jump:

We'll see the PS4 version that will make it clear. Personally, this makes me excited about TLOU2/GOT upgrades!

100% this buddy, I will get a PlayStation and experience these games on that platform only! Maybe it's not "Sony's fault" for making the decision, but their communication up until today has been, well, unorthodox?

Sony is very well behind expanding their cloud gaming infrastructure. MS is moving to XSX servers next year, so streaming XSX on XB1 hardware will probably become viable for the Xbox ecosystem. We still don't know Sony's plans regarding PSNow, we also still don't know if they make any progress with MS deal with Azure.

Sony is the only console player that has had game streaming on the market for YEARS. MS is the one playing catch up. But again, Sony had the entire PS4 generation to expand PSNOW to more countries in preparation for next gen. Hopefully sony's next announcement is that they have added PS5's to the datacenters so we can stream next gen games.

Any external USB HDD you can use with PS4 (USB 3.0) will work. You can play them right from the HDD, save the SSD for PS5 games.

Huh? Microsoft made no such mandate... and just said they plan on supporting last-gen with their 1st party for 1-2 years.

Yeah, I meant first party...wasn't being clear..too rushed. But this is similar. Not a big deal in EITHER case for either MS or Sony. At least not to me. I mean, if it's done right, the PS5 and XSX versions of the game should clearly be different. If not...then they're doing it wrong.

What is always impressive and it seems almost across the board for Sony their characters portray emotion really well.

Now we should expect open world games to have better lip syncing, facial expressions as well, with the same gameplay model. Tech has jumped massively since 2013, I hope it's easier to capture facial expressions without those dots, 4K/8K video capture. Now it seems extremely taxing, so let's hope that even low budget studios can have great facial expression characters. In terms of open world and facial expressions, I'm extremely impressed by Days Gone and Spider-man on PS4.

I'm pissed because one of my most wanted gameplay mechanics for HFW was flight, and now I know I won't get it because the game will have to run on that sluggish PS4 HDD. It's not just about looks, you know.

Indeed, I wanted new gimmicks like ultra fast flights on those robo-birds on HFW. The stance remains the very same, current gen holds back next gen massively in game design. But visually, as you said, it depends on the talent/money/support from publisher (Sony here).

I think the DLC will remain cross-gen. But at least Sony is doing the best to take full advantage of PS5's hardware, and if this level of fidelity was making people skeptical, imagine what will be when the focus solely on PS5 hardware? I mean, I might faint from just thinking about it.
