Best 2007 game was GOW2 easy for me. Would restart a new game a finish it again each day, for like 20 days straight. This game was so insane, and pretty much perfect in all areas of its genre, it was insane how it was running on a 7 years old PS2 hardware!! A lot of people know Cory with GOW PS4 but don't know it's actually not the first masterpiece he directed, but actually the 2nd masterpiece he directed.
This post is a bit old but is bugging me a lot.

All of us know Cory from gow2. His involvement was the sole reason most of us were excited about the gow reboot from day one.

This comparing loading screens is stupid. You don't know if its an actual loading screen or how long its loading unless you looking at the games memory management. There will still be transition screens especially in a story game. Ratchet going through a portal is a moment so they the will give some cool animation, effects as he goes through it.

the ninth is apparently the next big date, for sony, at least that's the speculation.

Ratchet and Clank demo was a thing of beauty, stream looked like shit, watch it somewhere else.

Our friend Alex and Df does not want to do another R+c video, they said they have covered it enough times already.

@geordiemp after a week ban, he is chomping at the bit, a couple of fud spreader have already felt his wrath.

@Bo_Hazem made a great thread on rachet and clank screenies, you should check it out, its rather excellent.

AeneaGames AeneaGames lost 40 pounds over the week in weight, then put it all back on while visiting an all you can eat restaurant, the restaurant also went out of commission that same night.

@X-Fighter after returning from an extended mental-time-out-break is still acting like the last soldier from Custer's last stand. Dedicated to the end. He also likes awards.

@Mod of War finally came out saying he likes bugsnax

I watched 4 twilight films over a couple of nights, Till the end of time, i will forever hate @Sinthor for recommending that shit to me.

I told @Darklor01 to crank up the settings on his old pc while playing the new flight sim. Not heard from him for a few days. I suspect there has been some burnout.

a lot of general waring, fighting and the usual fun that is associated with this forum.

All in all, everyone is getting on like a house on fire.

I have been very quiet myself, just putting out fire, and making friends where ever i go. :messenger_grinning:

Alot more stuff but yer enough for now

Ps
@MasterCornholio linked something he should not off and hurt my feelings, he has been forgiven. Enough said.

Everything was absolutely fine until you said "Twilight movies."

Good bye, fish.

On a side note, I think I will pick up fishing.

I'll be sure to do it in Twitter screenshots next time, that's where this thread usually seems to source it's BS from. At one stage everyone was clamoring to see PS5 FUD, well my friend seems to have it in spades. It was meant to provide a bit of levity as we wait for PS5 info, certainly recieved enough "LOL" reactions to them.
It's ok man... just let it go, don't do it :)

Cory was will known since GOW2. He added the sense of epic adventure to the franchise.
GOW 2018 is my game of the generation.

BTW the guy brought the controller at MS store.
Seems to me the announce of Series S got delayed for whatever reason and the box hits retail before the announce lol
Another point is that MS probably want to announce Series S together with the price of Series X to remove attention from the high price.

‘Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’ and the power of the PS5

“As a studio, we were lucky enough to be one of the earlier developers who helped work with the new technologies as they were coming online,” creative director Marcus Smith told The Post in a recent interview. “Something is changing here. We’re not just talking about getting rid of loading screens, which is natural, but it enables us to do things at speeds that we’ve never, ever been able to do before.”

Smith calls the quicker loading times a “paradigm shift" for the next generation. With “Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart,” the game is able to load entire worlds in “less than a second,” Daly said. It’s also targeting 4K and 30 frames-per-second, and will include a performance mode, allowing players to experience the game at 60 frames-per-second, a first since 2009′s “Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time.”

I'm really looking forward to what theyre getting to do with Spiderman MM. During their spiderman PS4 postmortem GDC talk they spent so much time talking about how they had to fit entire city blocks in 20mb due to the slow streaming speed, how they wanted to have seamless interiors, and seamless cutscene-to-gameplay transitions, but it just wasn't possible with an HDD.

But all those problems are just gone now. its like running your entire life with 20kg weights on your ankles then they suddenly break off

I'm American so can others answer this, is Black Friday shopping a thing anywhere else? I've always assumed that its just a US thing.

It was just an US thing until Amazon, an US company, started to do BF sales in all the countries they support. This caused gigantic loss in sales for many local competing companies.

So now in many countries most Web shops also have black Friday sales.

We don't have any of the crazy stuff in actual shops tho, it's mostly Web only...

Probably has to do with two things.
  1. Cat and mouse game between Sony and Microsoft, that none of them want to go first, which is pushing those events all the way into September
  2. Microsoft had some shitty months marketing wise when it comes to Xbox. I can imagine them first wanting that to blow over a bit and then have an event, instead of trying to immediately spin it and talk about something else, which wouldn't have worked

come on now dawg

you are doing a disservice to the entire gaming community with this poor whiny damage control of yours

open your eyes:

etc etc etc etc
already,
and now xbox is coming even stronger at this, with automatic machine learning HDR and doubling of framerates

You should be saying and doing exactly the opposite of what you do.
Grow up!

BC isn’t a gimmick, nor is it a big system selling feature. People primarily buy new systems to play new games

XBO BC is pretty good though, and had it arrived at launch when libraries were a bit thin then it may have been more impactful. Coming 2 years into the generation and it becomes very much a “nice to have” feature.

I'm glad we have BC at launch on both consoles, but even if there are differences between the two there’s no competitive advantage here for Xbox.

but Sony doesn't have a two SKU's of the PS5 offering different levels of performance and power. Both PS5 and PS5 DE are both the same specd console. But the same isn't the case with Series X and Series S. Microsoft shouldn't be holding back the reveal of Series S for this long?

I have no better place to ask this but I've been noticing a new phenomenon, which is Xbox fans asking MS to show Elden Ring.

Did I miss something? Is Elden Ring exclusive?

In all fairness, MS is the one with the more pressing task of announcing a new console and price strategy for both.

Series S is coming later, so they can market it as an affordable option. First focus the attention on their power crown.

Which would go better with games that take advantage of that power, of course.

It's a kinda bizarre line of attack on PS5 tbh.

“OMG PS5 still has loading screens, they’re hidden behind the portal jumps”

Who fucking cares? Call it a loading screen if you want, it's still only a second. 🤣

Desperation and nitpicking is what it boils down to. There's nothing else they can criticize the game about, so they have to complain about the smallest things.

You need a transitional screen of sorts otherwise it simply would not work. 2 seconds to load an entirely new world with new assets, npcs and environments with zero pop-in is now something to cry about? In what world does 2 seconds classify as a loading screen?

Desperate fanboys are running out of FUD to spread about PS5.

That's the most weirdest marketing approach, release the worlds most powerful console first and the weakest console a few months later?

BC is better than no BC.

But powering up an old console eats BC for breakfast.

Personally, as a Playstation fan, I find Sony’s way of handling its legacy a bit unbalanced between soft and hard...

They strongly rely on IP (and the controller) to tell the whole PS story, but although certain games hold it together (e.g. Gran Turismo), I’m not entirely sure that’s sustainable enough to fuel the brand in the long run.

I also think we already damaged some of the PS DNA when we lost Ridge Racer, SOCOM, Twisted Metal and others.

Beyond BC, I am wishing for software emulation and AI—powered upscaling of the entire Playstation catalog.

I still remember the fun of playing an upscaled PS2 Hokuto no Ken on my PS3 fat.

It's multiplatform. I guess it's because Elden Ring was revealed at an Xbox event? You can't really be a FromSoft fan if you don't own a Playstation though, since that's the only platform you can play all of the games on.

love the lights for the different consoles, where are you thinking of putting PS5 and XSX? :messenger_sunglasses:

I don’t need to time because it doesn’t bother me.
But the guy video faked the timing making it longer... it is clear if you watch the video.
Denial is a very bad pimple you know...
and while this is video games, therefore denial is rather harmless, it cascades.
this video I transloaded from another person's video because of the embedded timer. but I timed it myself, on the original gamescom video.
As I said, probably loading starts even earlier than where that video begins the timer, as the entire previous thing is a non-playable sequence where ratchet slips and falls.

You can deny timing it yourself, even from the original video
you can not believe your eyes for all I care,
and keep on parroting per paid PR what your eyes see as "less than a second"
Not my problem

Here's a thought: Why don't you post a video of the arcade version of Space Invaders running on Xbox One X in order to prove that Xbox One X's HDD is faster than the PS5's SSD?

I mean, if you're literally comparing the data streaming needs of an indie game with those of a triple A blockbuster game to perform your mental gymnastics, you're better off going all-in, right?
Yes, because astro playground is the real heavy shit, right? :messenger_tears_of_joy:

And this is the tech demo that will come pre-installed in every console.
Keep denying and writing cheeky remarks.
Very beneficial.
