We haven't seen much from Sony either. Rachet and Clank looks great but it's hardly a gen leap visually. And where is Miles Morales at ? That's a launch game, still no gameplay ? Where is the PS fans outrage ?

Now we hear reports 3rd party games run better on Xbox Series X. And we should just dismiss them because you don't like the sound of it. That's childish.

Those numbers are shader performance, thats it,

If you believe that is the only metric in gaming performance, then you need to go read a book.

How many rops, how fast are caches, is architecture the same - we know Sony and ND has patent on Geometry engine GPU.

Are apis the same cost, or is direct better than abstract.

Numbers dont lie, TF is not a SOLE performance number, its 1 of them. What are the numbers, we dont know all of them do we.

I think they will perform similar, you believe whatever you want. The proof is in the games and how they run. WE dont know how XSX runs except for shitty Halo.

We will see but unlike you I actually look at the full system & not just numbers that I don't know the meaning of.

PS5 has the rendering advantage Xbox SX has the compute advantage how things turn out will all depend on where the bottlenecks are. if a game is limited by compute Xbox will have the advantage but if it is limited other places like polygon count & pixel fill rate PS5 will have the edge.

in DG's case, I wouldn't say great. He's obviously privy to industry secrets, because more than a few of his sharings have borne fruit, although they're also equally often false/misheard. He's also high on his own reputation, which tends to make him go out on a limb based on hearsay and land him in the kind of mess he's in now. And the fact that he jumped to sensationalist conclusions based on wanting to 'level' the playing field regarding good/bad press for upcoming consoles is probably going to be the final nail in the coffin as far as that reputation goes.

Miles Morales had few gameplay short tidbits. When he kicked a guy in a face from air, a white effect appeared around his head when he got a punch. That effect is in gameplay, not during cut-scenes.

Though in this case, why dusk did what he did was beyond stupid. Though the fact that he admitted it kind of gets him off the hook because of his sincerity. The other real fanboys like Tom Warren, jez, brad Sams and klobrie would never ever admit to it.

And i also kind of understand why Sony fans are so jumpy about this. It's been a hell of a year or two with all the github stuff and the outing of Xbox discord. Can you really blame them when the following turned out to be true:

- Hmgqq was the owner of the github folder all this time. And admitted to taking it down to fool us into thinking that amd took it down
- dukeblueballs was Tommy Fisher
- Tom Warren spread shit about the ps5 overheating based on an anonymous comment under a YouTube video.
- brad Sams and Alex downplaying the ssd getting smacked around by naughty dog devs then crying to mods
- Alex continuously spread uncertainty about the ps5 ray tracing capabilities even after the second wired article confirming it was hardware based. Shadows only rt he used to say.
- Xbox era crew getting caught red handed literally plotting strategies on how to attack the ps5
- Alex joining the Xbox era discord crew is simply unacceptable for a DF employee

While i have defended digital foundry and Alex here at all times, i cannot and wont offer Tom the same courtesy. He recently made a fool of himself on era.

I think guys like Jeff Grubb and dusk get caught in the crossfire but this is part of the game. Jason has been there too and has received a lot of shit from Xbox fans for simply saying the ps5 is more powerful in other ways. This kind of pushback isn't exclusive to Sony fans.

I appreciate that even though you are a pretty hardcore Sony fan you can at least look at things far more objectively than your Sony brethren. But a few comments:

1. GitHub turned out to be real and people got banned in the spec thread because Sony fans threw tantrums, demanded people be banned and reported them any time anyone dared suggest it was real.

2. The case of Tommy Fisher is hilarious. Anyone with 2 brain cells should have be able to tell he was a fake and totally full of shit, but since he was saying what Sony fans wanted to hear (13.8tfs) they bought all his BS. I recall one of the clique bragging the day before the Cerny reveal bragging about 13.8 and calling Xbox fans clowns and losers until Mod of War put a stop to it. I have NO sympathy for Sony fans that let themselves get taken by that troll.

3. Another one of the Sony super fans went rabid on John from DF and drove him out because DF hadn't made a video stating PS5 was RDNA2 before Cerny even revealed the PS5

4. Another Sony super fan LED Guy? posted a faked photoshopped, previously debunked screen of @Berncastle supposedly from Xbox discord to create diversionary drama when that Twitter info from the PS5 graphic engineer said the PS5 was RDNA 1.5 or something (also ended up being true he said it) I think I even saw something about the person that revealed the info got severely harassed, death threats(?)

5. Not familiar with Brad Sams downplaying the SSD, but I'm WAY too familiar with Sony fans constantly overplaying it. One guy created like 8 or 10 SSD threads all by himself.

Fanboys/girls from both sides are obnoxious (myself included), but too many Sony fans go WAY overboard when they feel their plastic box is threatened and they really do come across as the Info Wars fans of gaming.

Xbox fans are much more louder than PS fans. Especially in FUD spreading. That's a fact, a big one. Just look what are they doing on twitter. It's hilarious to see.
Regarding Github, it was right about PS5 only regarding CU and half-right about bandwidth speed. Regarding GPU speed ( 2 GHz ) architecture ( RDNA 1 ), TFLOPS 9.2 it was wrong.

That shot about Berkanstel was fake. And it was wrong way to do it. But Berkanstel was a member of Xbox ERA Discord, now is in the Discord club with "main" devs like Louise Kirby. And also, some Discord shots are real. And i will keep them like they are gold. And they are gold.
Regarding that PS5 engineer. Yes. He said that PS5 is mixture of RDNA 1 and 2. With missing one feature from 2. Maybe Sony didn't needed that one feature from RDNA 2 because they developed something better. Also logic says that XSX also is a mixture of RDNA 1 and 2 because surely XSX has features from RDNA 1. Isn't it? It's like firmware updates on consoles. You download the newest one, but it also contains features from previous ones.
But regarding SSD, yes, it's way better on PS5 than on XSX. That's not an overplay when difference between the two is over 100%

But there is proof that PS5 has no issue going well above 60fps and 4K without optimization.... and that game was quite good looking graphically.
